I love how shy they are in this scene. It shows how vulnerable they are. And Jesus the music is killing me, such well chosen song for the scene🤣

Best kiss ever! Their acting is so good. You can feel the tension, the helpless, vulnerable feeling and the release. Like a first kiss, even though it isn't. So intense, when he is looking at her. Wow! Watching this over and over again. Never get's old even after all this time.

I don't think they could have though. When Roger was doing the timeline both of their lives were going along at the same rate. If she had gone back earlier he would have still been in prison or still working at Helwater. Neither of those times would have been right. Him being free of his past circumstances (and Claire having raised Brianna) the 20 years were needed for them to be ready for a life together again.

Ah, a lot of ladies have admired those fine brawny legs when he wore a kilt instead of trousers. What's he so shy about now? If ever a set of legs were perfect for a kilt it is that man's. I remember kissing my love for the first time after a very long absence. Better than the finest of wines.

@@audreyjbancroft6613 I think it's fair to see what's been doing in the last twenty years. LOL Would she have been disappointed if she'd come back to find he'd gotten fat? She left a vibrant and muscular warrior of 20 something. She likely looked to be sure she hadn't come back to a flabby beer swilling shop-boy of 40. Though... she loved him enough to say "I want YOU, whoever you are now."

He was sorely wounded for a long time and didn't get around anywhere. I can't see him chiseling "Clair, I survived!" on the church wall so it would still be seen 200 years later. And, she couldn't come back until her child didn't need her anymore. She didn't know Bree could go through the stones, and it would have been wrong to leave her earlier.

@sarahtaylor42644 жыл бұрын
I didn't like the first season that much either, partly because I didn't think it adapted the book that well and partly because I think it was a bit shaky in its own right. I was really put off by the constant sex scenes. There are two big ones in the book, but they are justifiable. The TV series felt extremely gratuitous and fan servicey with it. I would have rather they spent that screen time on getting more book material in or doing something more interesting with plot or theme. I wanted to see the wolf fight scene bad, so I was very disappointed that didn't make it in. Having watched all five seasons, it is the weakest season. Maybe it's because I haven't read past the first book, but I really started to enjoy the series halfway through Season 2 and then got addicted to it in Season 3. I thought the plot, characters, and concepts started to improve. I think the producers stepped up their game and have only continued to improve since then. I swear, Lord John Grey is one of the best written, most lovable characters I have ever seen. I am really curious what his book counterpart is like and if there is a significant difference between them. Crossing my fingers Jamie and him don't end up on the opposite sides of a battlefield during the Revolution.

Don't give up on your friend. I started watching this 4 years ago and abandoned it, gladly, because I was so put off by the ridiculous amount of gratuitous sex and violence. The protracted Jamie rape/torture sequence was the last straw. However I started over during pandemic (fast forwarded through parts), and it grew on me. There are things about it that I really love, and others I find exceedingly annoying, including some of Claire's behavior. I find myself wondering if this is the view of feminism that young women today subscribe to. I really wish I could find an intelligent discussion forum for this series, something beyond gushing fandom or hots for Jamie, and I'd love to ask those who've read the books for clarification on some points which make no sense in the series.

Wet britches or no, he should have grabbed her like he had the first time he snatched her away from the stones, and squeezed the stuffins out of her. Oh wait, that's what he did in the book. They sat on the floor and squeezed and cried and got all sloppy snotty all over each other. Later they got shy, but not at first.

In the book they end up on the floor in a weepy, sticky, kissy mess, serching for hankies and all but the basic proprieties ignored. They're not quite 'doing it' on the floor, but Clair nearly yanks his ears off holding onto him for more kisses. The "may I?" was entirely unnecessary.

The author talks about it in the book about how Claire is supposed to have aged really well and Jamie is only gray in his beard, but he's clean shaven most of the time so you don't see it until they're on the ship. The actors are 39 and 40 currently btw.
