Outside Tap Repair

How to repair a leaking outside tap.
The first thing to do is make sure the tap is turned off, Then unscrew the tap handle to give better access to gland nut.
Remove Gland nut and wind PTFEtape around spindle,gently push tape into tap body and screw gland nut back down. Repeat this process again and refit nut and tap handle to test it, if it still leaks repeat the process.

Thanks. You don’t need to take the tap off, just raise the nut and wind the PTFE below the tap handle on the spindle.

This is good if you can unscrew your spindle. But if you can't undo your spindle with a screw driver ( eg. in Australia) - you can fix this issue by replacing the o-rings and washer. There's plenty of video's showing that.

My one is leaking from from the hole and when i close it tightly the Water starts leaking from the top..
