- Our brains are conditioned to seek instant gratification, often through highly addictive social media platforms. - The most stimulating option available determines our actions; if it's our phone, we'll use it, but if it's reading a book, we'll opt for that. - Boredom can be leveraged to prioritize tasks that were previously avoided, as they become more appealing than simply sitting in boredom. - Building an "attention muscle" through practices like meditation can help reduce mindless scrolling and increase concentration. - By making a list of easy tasks alongside more challenging ones, we can build momentum by completing smaller tasks and eventually tackle more demanding work.

Nice. I've been slowly cutting back the amount of hours I spend on my phone everyday for the past 6 months, and I've completely stopped playing video games as well. In this short span of time I've read 50 books, whereas before that I was reading about one book a month. Stay strong kings, this path is hard but it is rewarding.

Everyone is different, some may need video games as a crutch in their life. I was like that for a long time, but now that I've finished my degree and started to work, I realize that video games were a hindrance to my social life all along, and an escape from reality. Since I've stopped playing I've had a lot more time to hang out with my colleagues after work, to exercise, to read books and to learn a language. More importantly I want to do these things now, whereas before I would just play for hours in my room. I now realize that video games were a drain to my energy and a hindrance to my potential, even if they felt good. But I'm stronger now, I don't need that crutch anymore.

Something I recommend it to stick with your goals but change your approach every time you fail/are on the verge of giving up. I wanted to build muscle. But my workouts were suddenly too long for the time I spent in school. So I gave up. Now I had the same issue again a while back but with university. I’ve been sticking to it for 7 months now, seen some progress and I’ve changed my approach. Minimalist Push, Pull Legs is what fits me bets right now. And of exams come up I’ll find another split that’ll work. What I won’t do is give up. ❤

Im a 16 year old guy (in highschool), I don’t get bullied at school or anything, I always have people I can sit with and know enough to make small talk but outside of school I dont have any real friends. When I first started high school 4 years ago at a new school I hung out with a high achieving group for about a half a year, however I had a fight with one of the people and left the group. After that I floated around different friend groups but never made real connections with anyone while everyone else bonded stronger. A little over a year ago I decided to rejoin the friend group. However due to the fear of being disagreed with and forced to drift between friend groups I gradually stopped talking in conversations until I eventually became completely quiet. By now its just become normal that during lunch I sit with them silently and in classes I sit with them but barely talk to them. I really want to become friends but no matter what I do, I can’t seem to force myself to speak, let alone become friends with them. I really want to get added on social media and go out to places with them. Problems I have when i try to talk are: - Since its been so long it feels odd to out of nowhere start talking again/they aren’t expecting me to talk to them - They all know eachother way better than I do so why would they want to talk to me when they can talk to a closer friend - I can rarely think of anything interesting or meaningful to say What should I do?

Never understood how people get bored. If you put me in an empty room by myself I will be occupied with my thoughts for a long time, without getting bored. I do understand the concept of not allowing yourself to do anything else, but what you are supposed to work on, and it does work. I just don't ever get bored. And that not bragging, because it sometimes sucks, and maybe sucks even more than being bored.

By the way, Incognito CEO blew up because he also copied the scripts to already successful videos. Copied the titles and the scripts. Someone should start a channel showing how they're all copying each other and ripping off content. I bet that would blow up. Call the channel Copynpaste.

this is like the third or forth video saying the same thing... while it may be beneficial to do a 'dopamine detox' this whole "outwork everyone by being bored" thing is silly. I have hundreds of things I could be doing that are far and away not boring at all, and yet doesn't mean i want to do them. You can't use this as a way to make difficult or boring tasks "fun". There might be some value in "eating the frog" which is just do your onerous tasks early, doesn't make them less onerous but when you get it out of the way you feel better afterwards.
