The amount of time and mental energy I spent dithering over my flooring choice when I was building my conversion was pretty considerable. Everyone has the click flooring but I couldn't see how a floor that is meant for indoor application, and is supposed to be installed with enough room for the floor to expand/contract is supposed to stay in place bouncing down the road in one of these things. Plus the weather considerations. I don't camp in the winter but my trailer is stored when it's sub freezing temps and in the summer when the trailer's closed up waiting for the next trip the interior of it can reach well over 100 F degrees. I decided to go with an epoxy painted water proof flooring applied directly to the wood subfloor with a paint chip flecking for extra grip and visual appeal. So glad I went that direction. It looks great and has functioned beautifully. All this to say, thank you for validating my choice!

Your floor sounds great! Funny thing is I went with vinyl sheet flooring in my trillium trailer…….but when I first built my cargo trailer I went with vinyl plank……clearly didn’t think it through, it was left over from a house so thought I’d use it. Bad decision.

I started out thinking 120v ac and 12v DC.... Pull all the 120v except to the battery charger... Beefed up the Battery amp hours ... Have not looked back. Works beautiful...

Ya I agree easy to start out with too small of batteries, and regret it. We did that with our little fibreglass trillium trailer. Better to go big from the start.

The shower solution I have in my head is a circular base and lid from a large plastic barrel (blue float barrel), and then for a removable wall, you would 'slot in' a sheet of vinyl (crazy carpet like) around. Make sense? curtains never work and never easy to clean.

Interesting concept. Love the out of the box thinking. If you get around to building it let me know, would love to know how it turns out. Showers are very important to us, it’s worth the effort.

If it was a do-over, would you have gone with a 7x12 trailer? Or possibly a 6x12 with a different bed configuration? Thank you

Great question! I really love the 7 ft wide for the bed configuration. But the problem with that one is it’s 7 ft plus the tires are mounted to exterior of frame making it 8ft…….that makes travelling where we go more difficult even limiting it. The 6 by 12 would definitely take more thought from the design perspective. For us as a couple I’d go for the 7ft. If it was just for me though I think I’d go for the 6ft.

I purchased the cargo trailer to camper guide but did not get the download and there is no email address to contact Zac. Can you email me my pdf?
