My urologist diagnosed me with Acute Prostatitis for the third time in 5-6 years. I am on my second run of a ten day antibiotic, with only marginal improvement in pain. I have been battling this for 6-8 weeks now, and I am sick and tired of the pain, and taking NSAIDs every 4-6 hours just to be able to continue to work and live. My pain seems to intensify at night when I lie down, just an increase pressure feeling over the entire under carriage. I have tried these exercises just twice now (yesterday evening and this morning). I had the best night last night that I have had in weeks, and (careful not to jinx it) so far this morning, the pain and discomfort is somewhat muted. I am hopeful and prayerful that continued use of these exercises will bring further relief. Thanks so much for posting this!

The physical therapist that I've started seeing recommended a lot of the same exercises too. I've also been working with an acupuncturist and taking some natural anxiety remedies and have been noticing a difference with that as well. I’ve been dealing with a very mild version of what others are describing as endless pain and discomfort and these stretches have significantly helped me since I started doing them daily. I’m 35 this year and until about a few weeks ago I was living a very carefree lifestyle. Sudden onset of symptoms threw me complete off and I believe this was caused by a bike ride followed by a bout of extreme stress and anxiety which promoted clenching. The symptoms are so worrisome because they mimic those of serious diseases and a cause more worry/panic. The breathing and calming elements of this have become a huge part of my relief. Until starting this it didn’t seem like my symptoms were going anywhere… now I wake up with a hope that soon I’ll be back to not paying attention to my pelvic area all day, but while continuing to stretch and move around to prevent anything like this in the future. Thank you so much!!!

ATTN: MEN WHO DO THIS ROUTINE DAILY (from Michael, the instructor in the video) - Since creating this movement routine (with Dr. Bri), so many men have experienced relief and a lowering of symptoms. This stretch routine (and others like it) is designed to help you relax, release, and open up your pelvic floor. This has a therapeutic effect, and can help to calm the nervous system. Maybe that is all you need to clear out some acute tightness, if so, that's amazing! But, if you have been doing this routine for many days with an expectation that it alone (or purely mechanical or chemical treatments, i.e. diet changes) will address the root cause of pelvic floor dysfunction, I want to shed some light on the situation. Pelvic floor tension, dysfunction, and pain stems from either a structural cause (this is more rare, but possible...things like tissue damage, cancer, infectious disease, an accident), or neural circuit pain/dysfunction (your brain creating pain/dysfunction due to an upregulated nervous system via the same neural pathways). Instead of just doing movement routines, you need to look deeper to discover why your brain is even creating the tension in the first place. Stretching routines can bring release and a lowering of symptoms, but in many cases, you need to go deeper, to the psychophysiologic root cause. Please take time to look within and explore the mind-body root cause that could be creating your issues. You can learn more about the deeper, internal work on my Transform Pelvic Health KZbin channel (and Dr. Bri's Vibrant channel too). Thanks for showing up for yourself, and I am glad that this routine is helpful! -Michael Hodge

Thank you for this write up. While I have felt better since starting this routine earlier this week, I suspected it wasn’t enough to fully cure the problem. I basically have a constant pain on my inner right thigh or adductor, and have had so for 5 months now. The pain randomly extends to my pelvic floor, especially if I try to play sports. Weight lifting is bearable. I was jumping and running a lot prior to the injury and may not have been stretching properly. I’ve gone to PT, saw a surgeon, got an MRI and X-Ray, yet nothing is showing up. No hernia or abnormal looking muscles. I want to say it’s a tough strain, but even that should have gone away by now. I’m kind of floored right now when it comes to you mentioning the psychophysiological root cause, because not only was I facing doubts on if the stretching routine was enough, but I happen to see your comment years after the initial video. It’s 100% worth looking into for me, because I just want to feel normal again. Thank you again.

First - DO practice these regularly, and you will find a great relief and improvement in the condition. Mostly recover. Tho have to incorporate this in daily life. Sincere Thanks to Dr. Bri and Michael. They have done a great public service by putting this online and thoroughly explaining the healing routine. I also suffer from IBS and pelvic dysfunction (not pain, frequent urination). I am practicing Yoga for a while now, and certain postures were aggravating the situation. I read a few specific artciles online, a book - A headache in the Pelvis for a better understanding of the issue, and together with my father who also is a seasoned Yoga practitioner, came up with a similar routine. And then 2-3 poses which are specifically showcased here really helped further with the healing!! I would add - 1. If you have IBS, dont press too strongly for knee to Chest pose, and avoid the last Child pose (it may aggravate). Instead replace with Viparita Karani (Legs-up-the-Wall Pose) - with bolster and block support and see if that works... 2. Also first breathing pose can be converted/improved to Yogic Deep Breathing style. 3. Add Cat-Cow Pose and see if that works 4. Pls take Turmeric (high curcumin - 95% standardized) Supplement (tho costly find online/Amazon like Naturemade Extra Strength brand). Also add turmeric powder to you soups, smoothies etc. This should surely help people who have pain and further healing. It is generally great for any internal inflammation. Please do practice this routine regularly, take turmeric supplement/powder in food, and your life will become much better 🙏

I did consult every single consultant and surgeon that might be related to this pelvic area. All gave me BS, for months I've taken antibiotics for prostate, eating healthy taking vitamins drinking water, playing sports. But the pain presist and increased. I kept searching and searching until I came here, it was eyes opening to a whole new spectrum of how pelvic area works. Definitely I realized that my symptoms was due to stress and maybe other reaons.. But the bottom line is unconscious consistent tightness of the mussels in this area. I learned how to manage it properly, physically and mentally thanks to this 1st video, and later other videos/articles. And for about 6 months, I have almost no pain at all since last 10 years. I went to urologist and he cant find anything thats is wrong so he told me that, “he cant think of anything but my pelvic floor muscle” so he referred me to physical therapist. Im looking forward to see my PT in these couple weeks but at the main time I will gonna do this yoga exercise everyday and hoping everything will get back to normal one day!

I'm glad you were able to get relief! You're absolutely right, anything that causes you to tighten up down there can cause pelvic pain. You just made me cry.. Thank you so much.. We were talking about very similar things with my best friend from Australia. Stronger than ever.. Everyday is another challenge. I keep remembering last February or before when I was completely normal. I miss being able to lay down on couch and watch something without constantly rotating right and left. Then I found out from your video that I was doing windshield wipers instinctively.. Everyday I’m so scared because I don’t know when that urethra pain is gonna come. Sometimes electric shock, sometimes as if acid coming out of urethra, sometimes stabbing. All day I’m scared and anxiously running away from that all of a sudden pain. I get some aches right next to the penis as well. Left side.. And these days that insane soreness around my sitting bones, upper inner thighs, sometimes even calves etc. And what I realized is my upper inner thigh, expecially the left side gets bruised. Expecially after I feel so much soreness in that area, I get some redness. Hot compresses help me to some extent. And yes, pelvic floor is a complex issue and to release the deeper muscles, we have to harmonize our mind and body together. It’s not just stretching. More than that.. I will check all your other programs and videos. I love your demonstration so much in this video. Thank you so much from Canada..

Hi. I want to inform you guys that CPPS is not caused by an infection, but an inflammation in your nerves near your prostate or somewhere in your pelvic floor. This causes tightening and shortening of your pelvic muscles. The same as with levator ani syndrome, possibly it appears through an inflammation in arcus tendon inside your pelvic floor. Stress and anxiety, earlier infections and surgery is the root causes. The only thing that worked for me is shockwave therapy and 2 times regularly of pelvic stretches and Kegels every day. I am only 60-70% healed yet with a good progress. There is hope guys and keep up the work.

Following your routine every morning. I self diagnosed about a month ago that I have injured myself on the bike. I've never had a proper bike fit. I also found out that my seat position was too prone / slightly upward pointing, not flat or pointing a few degrees down. I started to have pricking sensations in the male parts and urgency to pee which got worse and worse for a while before easing. I also had pain / throbbing where you don't want it as a man. My doctor ruled out the bike (seat) or overtraining on the bike as a cause. Thankfully he also tested me for glucose, UTI, prostate etc. (all -ve). My strong sense is that I caused trauma / injury to the perineum / pelvic floor. Went to see a physio who gave me a load of exercises for women but some of them are like yours and all are useful in their own way I suppose. Continuing with your exercises as I do know my hamstrings and legs in general are way too tight & always have been (I used to run a fair bit). I also used to have a recurring lower back problem (economy seat syndrome!). The scary part was when I started to not sleep recently and my anxiety spiked really badly. Anyhow I really like your video so thank you.

I remember when i started doing these exercises a year ago because one day I got urinary retention out of nowhere. After several medical evaluations, antibiotics test and more showed that i was fine. I went to the bathroom every 30 minutes, I couldn't sleep, I felt thightness in my lower back, buttocks and pain in my scrotum and spasms when urinating, I felt like shit. When I did this routine for the first time I had the best feeling, I literally felt how everything relaxed, I did this routine for more than a year and a half mixed with the night routine before sleeping and I improved like a 70%. I still have some symptoms but compared to the ones at the beginning this is almost nothing, i'm going to start this stretches again very soon.

Wow, how amazing is that! I am so glad that these have helped. But there is more to the story than just stretching, if this has been going on for over a year, then there are deeper factors causing the pain, definitely listen to my 6 episode podcast series "The Last Pelvic + Urinary Healing Podcast You'll Ever Need" to more deeply understand what is going on, and the path to recovery. You can do this! -Michael

Hi. I want to inform you guys that CPPS is not caused by an infection, but an inflammation in your nerves near your prostate or somewhere in your pelvic floor. It is psychological, neurological and muscular disorder.

These past 2 years have been the darkest moments of my life. Was diagnosed with GERD which led to Barrett’s esophagus. Been having lower abdominal gas symptoms causing cramps which my doctor said probably effected my nerves. I feel like my bladder has gotten weaker and I always need to use the bathroom. 2 months ago, I started to have shocking sensations in my perineum, testicles and penis which is on and off from day to day which is very irritating. I am going to start doing these exercises and see if it helps. My doctor ordered an endoscopy and colonoscopy to detect if I have inflammatory bowel disease and will be seeing urologist soon. I’ve never cried so much in my life and it’s embarrassing as a grown man. I want my life back!!!

Interesting thing is because of this I've started to be more conscious of my body. I've noticed that subconsciously, by default, I forcefully clench my pelvic floor muscles. Only by becoming aware of that can I relax them during the day. Anyway, these stretches are definitely helping me. Been doing them for almost a week already.

This Feb I had acute pain in the left inguinal area when taking my daily walk. Days later with it getting worse I ended up in the ER and was diagnosed with epididymitis of the left testicle. I've gone through 2 rounds of antibiotics only to have the pain return. After one session of your pelvic floor stretching the pain was gone. It tries to return and repeated doses of this routine takes all the pain away. Can't wait to share this with my doctor. Thank you so much ❤.

I wish Dr. Vipul Patel' would include you into his process as he is an amazing robotic surgeon in Orlando. I wish you were in Florida (perhaps you are) and I would attend a seminar with you. These routines are helping other issues that Ive just experrienced as well.

Was born with one testicle and had plenty of surgeries to keep this bad boy rolling. Almost seems on the dot that every 6 years (started when I was 14) would get nerve pain from the middle of my pelvic (tight knot feeling in pelvic) to tingling straight up discomfort in testicle/scrotum (when clothes would touch, especially when warm and testicle descended=extreme uncomfortably). When I turned 20 I had another flare up that lasted 2 years with same symptoms. I believe over that span I saw roughly 15 different doctors and well over 50 doctors appts to try and figure out my problem. Urologists chalked it up as scar tissue (orchiectomy/varicocele surgery when young), general doctors chalked it up to in my head. Eventually got diagnosed with a torn hip labrum. Had that surgery and still had problems but that faded. Flash back to a month and a half ago I was doing incline treadmill and felt a muscle get tight afterwards. Same symptoms as above, visited 2 different doctors saying the same as before. I am thinking it is a combo of it all plus some sort of nerve problems (thinking pudendal?) had an ultrasound recently and everything came back normal. Hoping this will help me find the relief I need.
@TransformPelvicHealthАй бұрын
Hey there, yes this could help, also look into neuroplastic symptoms/TMS to see if there are some other, non-structural factors which would be at play. It would be really helpful for you to see how prior surgery locations could create pain, even if just via the brain/nervous system, rather than due to a tissue issue.
