How I know this is AI: 1. This guy repeats the same sentences five times or more. 2. He's an absolute coward. 3. He's scared to talk to his dad (who literally wants to talk to him) 4. The story falls into thousands of literary cliches and tropes (main character falls into depression, they "build a new life that is theirs, they didn't like it but it is theirs," and a dad who is too stupid to realize stuff that's happening in his own home (as well as in his bank account). You could have said this in ONE SENTENCE, instead of wasting 30 minutes of our lives: My stepmother and stepsister plotted to cut me out of my dad's inheritance, so I moved out and struggled; my dad found out and divorced her and cut off ties with them. There. AI's quality is trash right now.

The dad had no idea and OP actively hurt his dad by ruining their relationship. OP disrespected the dad by taking away choices that were the dads to make, not OPs. Also sounds like OP has trauma from his mother’s death and can’t think straight. Edit: 26:03 Thinks it’s dads “way of making amends” what the hell did the dad do wrong? OP is to blame for their estrangement despite numerous attempts by the dad to reach out. 2 things that I hated throughout this story. First was the repetition of several phrases, thoughts, etc. Really annoying and takes away from the actual update when you just repeat shit. Second thing is how the son never even gave his dad a chance to believe him. Dad has nothing to apologize for. "I'm sorry for not believing you sooner"? He didn't know anything because his son never actually spoke about it. Not to him anyway. Op practically abandoned his dad and left him to live with 2 leeches.

He basically cut his father off because of the inheritance that he think that he may not be able to get because of what the stepsister and the stepmother said. At dads bday dinner, hes talking about step monsters smiling and asking him about his life And op said "I could see them calculating, wondering if I was suffering enough to give up claim to my inheritance" that doesn't even make sense. How would him suffering make him less likely to need his inheritance? And if I were him id be worried about my safty and the safty of my dad. These women want dads money, but only get the inheritance once hes dead. Once the ops out of the way, do they plan on waiting for his natural occuring death?

Dude is afraid of his step mom and sister making his dad cut him off so his plan was to do it himself? There is no possible way he thought distancing himself from his father and not giving him the time of day to “avoid awkward looks” was a good idea…

Jfc you’d think Diane and Megan tried to kill him with the way he talks about how terrified he is of them. This is either a bad creative writing exercise or the AI dropped the ball.

My mum died 18 months ago. She had cancer so it was coming for a while. Feels like this guys mum died more suddenly. His therapist is absolutely right he needs to give himself a break. Hes doing ok but also really not ok at all. Glad his dad finally noticed and did something about it, but not fast enough for the poor guy not to worry incessantly. He shouldve just asked for an update instead of driving himself nuts waiting. Guy is grieving hard and im not sure working with others who are grieving is helpful.

This guy's not doing well. He did need that therapy, honestly. Seems like his mom's death broke him, so much that he was too weak to do anything about what he heard. He needs help, he's broken, and couldn't bring himself to do the same to his dad, since he thought it'd break his dad as hard as OP's mom's death broke him

The first ten minutes of the story is him yapping about how he doesn’t have family why is dad seems to care so much about him and checking up on him and all that my dad doesn’t do that I understand you are going through grief of your mother, but remember that it could be yours. Your dad could just not care at all.

So many people shitting on OP... he was 23 and had his world turnes upside down *again*. He clearly never dealt with the death of his mother properly (which i partially blame his father for...and his maternal family too), had a new family shoved on him after losing half of his, then years later found out the people he thought were family, people he thought he could trust, were plotting behind his back. That betrayal triggered hurt feelings and fears. It brought fear of losing his dad like he lost everything else. Did he handle it great? No. But trauma and emotional baggage doesn't always mean you make great decisions, especially when you're young. Its also easy to say what you would've done when you weren't there and going through what he went through.

Ppl are SO judgemental...& this, as with close to 96% of these type of posts, is probably AI scripted...as they're nearly 99% AI narrated.

Another example of just talking to someone. His father in this story. If you just went up to your dad right after what you heard, you could have saved the whole year. You don't want to be an outcast to your father, so you just stopped talking to him. Becoming an outcast.

Wether this story is real or not, it is not impossible for man to feel like nothing, yet not wanting to damage his own father's happy marriage and the step family members being stupid, yet conspire to take all the wealth for themselves... People are not born equal, even in families where both parents are excellent in their lives, only for their child to be born with disability or weakness, because the genetic copying produced multiple bad copies of the genetic material, via the genetic lottery.

Inheritance is never a given. It would not have been my first concern in this situation. My father's safety would have been. He was the one being defrauded by Diane. So I would have told dad right out of the gate not caring about being believed or not. I would have at least given dad the tools to be on the lookout for his wifes motivations and to protect himself if things were to take a grim turn. This dude needed therapy over maybe getting cut of a will and having to grow a life which is a normal thing we do when we are young. Seriously.

--- Gesu, why isn't this man keeping in close contact with his dad? That's like falling into Diane and Megan plans to distance him from his dad. Grow up dude and grow a pair, OP is cutting off his nose to spite his face. Ignore the toxic duo and hang with your dad. Man, you need a psychiatrist not a counselor and some anti depression meds. I just don't like this wimpy man who avoids his dad because of his step family. GROW A PAIR !! GET ON SOME MEDS!! No sympathy for this man at all. Overheard his step family plotting against him. So what does this man do? Bails on his dad because: Boo hoo, they never liked me! My life is destroyed! Worse than the most melodramatic soap opera.
