Bought some alcohol in Guatemala. No info on bottle. I asked if it was vodka. ? Si. Si. I was drunk after 2 drinks. And slept 2 days. Liquor is different in Central America. Hahaha.

Hi Matt and Emy, according to Wikipedia Lion fish meat is healthier than most of other fish, once you remove the venomous spikes its safe to cook any way you want ! Cheers !

Loved the “recreated” sequence! Thanks for sharing your travels with your pup, we just went to Belize and want to go back with our dogs. What did you do with your car while you went to Caye Caulker?
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal5 жыл бұрын
We paid a restaurant near the ferry port to let us park it in there gated parking lot while were gone. The place is called Balloon Pizza, but they had one of the best hamburgers of our entire trip.

It was nice. So bummed we lost that snorkeling footage, because it was some of the most amazing snorkeling we've ever done. For us, it was the most expensive country we visited though.
@belizeguy6 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the footage too , but I bet you have it on Rewind in your heads . Funny Belize story . While we lived there , we rarely ate out . I cooked and getting some basic ingredients for me was a real job . I had several Fresh Markets that were only on certain days , and once you got used to doing that , we could eat well . But NO ONE had Tomatillos I love for sauces and even dips . I finally found this woman who could have them for me reliably and affordably . After months of having them, she told me how she got them . She is a well endowed lady , so she would buy Tomatillos in Mexico, stick the bag of them inside her bra and walk through customs with them ! She worried that we'd be upset , but I assured her that I'd be more upset without them . Funny, the things we do for food we like .
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal6 жыл бұрын
haha. that is a good one. We cook most of our meals, but we didn't bring our kitchen to Caulker with us and I wanted to try lion fish, so we made ample excuses for ourselves :) We had a tough time finding good produce in Belize for sure. and it felt crazy expensive after getting used to how inexpensive food was in Mexico.
@simonlynchsae6 жыл бұрын
Expensive as in North America expensive or just more expensive than the rest of central america but still cheap?
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal6 жыл бұрын
It's tough to say. -If you are willing to camp or stay in rustic accommodations, than you have cheap options in Belize(cheaper than in the USA), but we didn't feel comfortable "wild" camping for free anywhere in Belize since we never felt like we were in the wild. We do, however almost exclusively camp for free in the USA. So USA ends up being cheaper accommodation for us -Food in grocery stores was more expensive in Belize, but I've heard some towns will have weekly produce markets and the like where stuff is cheeper. We never lucked into one of those markets. -Restaurant prices are similar to USA, but maybe a bit cheaper -Gasoline was more expensive in Belize -Guided tours or activities were probably cheaper in Belize (not that I really do tours in the USA) But it felt like almost every activity in Belize required an entrance fee or guide fee or something. Sorry for a long response that doesn't exactly answer your question, but it depends a lot on your personal interest and travel style.

Yeah. I figured people could take that however they wanted. The thing I am still not sure about is what kind of "ice" he was talking about.

Who knows. Just be careful around people that talk about drugs like that. Things could turn bad real quick down there.

All you really would have had to do was to put a mussel on Jaeger that way the people on the boat would know he couldn't bite... Years ago I had a Husky and when we went places I always had her wear her mussel for her own protection. She looked like a wolf and one time a guy claimed that she bit him but when he couldn't show the cops any marks on his arm were he claimed she bit him the cops told him to just go home... She was a sweet big baby and the cops loved her. That guy was just looking to sue us to make a quick buck. We found out latter that he had done that to a few other large dog owners... So after that when out in the public she wore a mussel.... Be blessed... BBE..
