Heck yeah I was still watching! Hi! I'm a new subscriber and one video in, I'm hooked. I see we share the same license plate, love my park, lol. I'm here for the long haul. Love watching how everyone cooks their food, camp set up, you name it! You took us to some amazing views, thank you for all of this! That's also the truck I've been thinking I want to buy, lol. I am so glad I found this channel! Have a great week out there!

Great to see a post from you! If I were there, I'd be at the river with my fly rod!! When I camped a lot, I packed a rake head that I could attach to a tent pole to rake the site before I left. I understand being 'over with YT'! I've culled my YT channel subs to about 10 channels, yours being one I retained.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting, and thanks for your support of my channel. Really means a lot! Yes that river is supposed stocked and a great place to fish. Some of the trash I talked about cleaning up was some broken fishing equipment that some losers decided to leave there instead of disposing of properly. I still enjoy KZbin from time to time but definitely don't have the same enthusiasm I once did. I've been posting more sporadically and just enjoying my adventures more and worrying less about filming stuff.

It is a great area for camping and for hiking or backpacking. Yeah the set up is a work in progress but I’m pretty dialed in so far to my style. Thank you! Nice to hear from you, hope you are doing well? I saw you have some overlanding videos too that I need to check out, definitely will.

Thanks so much for watching, my friend! Yes I love it when even a short overnight trip has a little bit of a lot of good stuff. It was a fun trip. Yeah the trash was super irritating. I don't understand why some people leave their trash. That little DeWalt chainsaw has really come in handy and I've enjoyed having it. I use it a lot! Its not the best saw out there, but I already owned a lot of batteries so it was a no brainer.

I watched every moment and hungered for more! Back in our younger days, better half and I would often head west to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Make a loop going either north or south from our arrival point, before turning east, again, to go back home. Especially fond memories of cooking breakfast, on the side of a mountain, when my parents joined us with their camper. Thank you so much for your video. And for bringing back memories of days long past. It's good to know that some good things in this world haven't changed. The views of vistas and falls is undeniable proof! Looking forward to see more, when you're willing to share. God Bless. Godspeed on your journeys away from the beaten paths.

Thank you so much for watching and for all your support of my channel over the years. Means a lot! Always appreciate your thoughtful comments. Glad the video helped bring back of few memories of your earlier trips. As you noted, some things simply stay the same. The exact location or people involved may vary, but the overall concept remains unchanged. Hopefully it will always stay like that well into future generations.

I’ve been up to Hog Camp Gap a number of times…just not accessed it this way. Cool!
@SmellNRoses5 ай бұрын
Thanks for checking it out, my friend! Yeah me too and I always go up the "normal" way up Wiggins Springs but this time I went up the back way haha. The road around from Salt Log to Hog Camp was not that bad, just a few bumpy spots. It had a couple of nice camping sites but other wise uneventful. Salt Log Gap is a long way from everything no matter which way you go. After doing the short AT hike I drove down the west side but turned off on another FS road that basically wound its way around the boundary of the Mount Pleasant area and I came out on Hwy 60 at the AT access there. I'm sure you know the spot. Man that FS road was a long drive and very rough, I dont recommend it unless you just want to say you did it. Nothing particularly interesting to see along that route although I did see some "trails" that looked like they connect with the AT.

@SmellNRoses5 ай бұрын
@@KrizAkoni yeah it was. I had been to it before and so I knew it was a good site and had the waterfall, but this was my first time camping there. There are actually a number of fantastic sites along that road but only this one has a waterfall right next to it.

Great video! Good seeing you post one...funny thing is I have taken a long pause on KZbin myself, and I too just today, posted a video of only a few I have posted in the past couple of years. We went to Yorktown for a day this past Saturday and I posted a video of the old sailing ship at dock there. Beautiful country there around Buena Vista, as usual you show some beautiful scenery. I like it a lot. Thanks for sharing and take care!

Thanks so much for watching, my friend! I'll be sure to check out your video as well. Yes I'm still here but I don't upload frequently anymore. It just got to where it was not fun and I preferred to focus on enjoying my trips and adventures and get back to taking more photos rather than video, and not have to think everything out. That said I had a blast on this trip and enjoyed putting the video together too. Just never know when I'll pop up haha!

Beautiful area... Love Virginia but mostly went for bass fishing in the spring.. Never did much camping there. Nice to see those types of areas are available . Trash at sites drives me nuts.. Saw a sign on here eariler I liked... "If it didn't grow here.. It doesn't go here" lol
@SmellNRoses5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for checking it out, my friend. Yes we are loaded with so many awesome places for both camping and fishing, or about any kind of outdoor adventures you can think of. You're always welcome to come down for another visit. Yes the trash left behind is really irritating. Some people are so disrespectful. That sign you saw is perfect though. We need more of those around.

Hey thanks for checking out my video. Sorry I was late responding. Sorry I dont use GPS so I dont have the coordinates of that campsite. Just head up the mountain from Alhambra, I think its FS 63 or Perkins Mill Rd, and you’ll see it. There are many good sites along that road.

I'm glad you took a chainsaw, just in case there was a downed tree on your path. The goulash looks delicious. Why do you add a bay leaf? The forest is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature.
@SmellNRoses5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much, my friend! Yes I learned years ago the value of carrying a saw. I've had to clear a downed tree before and it just makes life easier gathering firewood. I'm too old to be hand sawing everything haha! The goulash did turn out pretty great. As for the bay leaf, some recipes call for it and some don't. The great thing about goulash is that you can just about use anything you want and there really is no right or wrong way to make it. It was a great time in the woods thanks again for checking it out!
