Goose & I take our Jeeps deep into the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This was a good shake down trip for the new 2 1/2" Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 8 Lift Kit recently installed on her 2018 JL Rubicon. Also, it was a great opportunity for us to practice Social Distancing due to the Corona Virus that is spreading throughout the country. It was great to get away and tune all that madness out, even if it was just for a few days. We camped in a few different locations, did some off-roading and went on a few short hikes.

North of the 78 at Hawk Canyon, was dry, and NO mud...It was great. Fish Creek had some areas of mud/water in the wash...But generally only near the wind caves. Where we camped there was very little water. Such a beautiful area. My guess is it will be popping this weekend with all kinds of colors...

Can this be made on one tank of gas? Sorry but where is this located? Thanks for an awesome video.
@395jnky
@395jnky 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith. Thanks for the feedback. Anza Borrego State Park is located within the Colorado Desert of Southern California. As far as one tank of gas goes, thats a good question. I think as long as you topped off at one of the last gas stations you will likely pass on your way to Anza, you should be able to. But of course there are a lot of variables. How many days will you be out there, how much wheeling', etc. We gassed up in between our two campsites, which wasn't ideal. In retrospect, I should have brought my 3 gallon gas rotopax and I would have likely not worried about gassing up. Happy Trails!!!

@395jnky

Duc Ta thank you. It is the Dometic. I love it, except if I were to do it all over again, I would go with the Tembo Tusk slide. The Tembo Tusk slide locks in position when it is pulled out, where the Dometic does not. So if I’m parked with the front end slightly lower then the rear, the slide wants to slide back into place. If you want, you should go check out my Tembo Tusk video...we briefly discuss the slides in that video. Stay healthy!!!

Any Skottle cleaning tips? I like how yours gets just as used/dirty as mines, how to you clean it after a meal within a trip....
@395jnky
@395jnky 4 жыл бұрын
It took a while to get a routine down. I used to be super obsessed with getting it perfect, and that was a problem. It took me a long time and the way I was doing it wasn't good for the skottle. I used to use a regular knife to scrape some of the hardened food off, and that causes harm to the skottle. Now, I just use water and a $3 plastic putty knife from Home Depot to scrape the food off while boiling water at the same time on the skottle. Once all the food is scraped off, I rinse it a few times with fresh water, I use a paper towel and wipe it down once or twice. Then I leave the skottle on to get rid of any moisture left behind. As it cools, I'll use spray it down with some non-stick Pam spray or equivalent and give it a final wipe down.
@minhster714
@minhster714 4 жыл бұрын
@@395jnky that's super clever! I've been using those plastic lodge logic scrappers but a putty knife would be a lot easier! Thanks for the tips!

What was the name of that fire pit?

So I just looked up my Amazon order to get the exact name. It is called the Kazmi Hestia Charcoal Campfire. Interestingly, when I purchased this fire pit on Feb 13 I paid $94.99. Since the time I purchased it, they have raised the price up to $149.99. In my opinion, it is still a deal compared to the Snow Peak.
