As someone who likes to lead guilds and crews in games The combination of the abridged and anime Ainz is how I always lead my crew It's not exactly being a push over, it's being considerate and open to those under you See them as people and they will see you as one too. I am kinda lost at how he lead the most powerful guild in his game, yet isn't good at "the whole overlord" thing I've only had the 4th most powerful guild in an mmo and I doubt that even back then I wouldve had that issue After leading crews in GTA and other games I'm sure it would be that much less existent That being said just having the 4th strongest and held territory required alot of understanding, strategy, organization, and everything else all the way to critical thinking. It requires alot to keep shit together So I never understand that concept as its contradictory as living hell he should have no issues controlling his now alive NPCs when he was just controlling what couldve been 100-500 actual players easily Hell were getting to a point now where 1k player servers are moving to become a thing and they're still aiming higher My point being, it takes alot to be a good leader. Theres times when you should be big bad and scary, there are times when you should be a loveable grandpa, and there are times when you should just be a watchful ghost. Both shows have Ainz demonstrating this as well which further my point with me agreeing that the ops statement is a bit of a reach and wrong just as Chiefs is right and wrong What makes Ainz great is that he knows balance. When I watch Overlord I understand and relate to everything said and done by him as they are the exact same things I'd do given the situation

@@LilJ3090 Sazuki (AInz) in the Light Novel mentions that the only experience he got as guildmaster was logistical things, and not ordering people around, and he's just shaken at the NPCs suddenly given life and asking for his orders. The guild also was only 41 actual players, and they mostly did their own thing, putting things to votes and discussing amongst themselves, Sazuki just let it happen, and always let his mates choose what they wanted to do. In the fight against Shalltear, he mentions that he finally felt accomplished by fighting for the guild on the frontlines, meaning he never did anything else in the game other than maintain Nazarick, and take care of management issues.

@@phantomkiller2847 i mean i get that completely dont get me wrong and i caught on to it as its mentioned in the anime Im just not understanding how he managed the number 1 guild of his server never taking Lzz or having to actually do anything My last Yakuza crew I was in a similar position, anything that wasnt considered administrative wasnt my job nor concern However, I still had to take the reigns at times, I still had to direct and control at times. Regardless of the game idk any guild that actually survives let alone become the best guild without an interacting leader. So i get him not having to fight as my crew hated it when I didnt let them protect me and i decided to join the fight My only thing is, how tf did he maintain that being a GL, at some point he was going to have to give orders and make decisions especially for as long as Ydrasil was supposedly up and running (some years wasnt it) A democratic vote only helps the guild decide on what to do next, someone still has to direct everything unless he literally did jack shit but sat on his ass 24/7 and did nothing at all while everyone else handled everything. Idk just from my experience in games Ill never understand his lack of experience in leadership as it just isnt logical or make any sense considering the status and level of power his guild attained. Like i said just having the number 4 guild at one time and holding territory required my attention 24/7. Any organization i set up is highly organized and requires the least bit of my attention. I had my guild broken down into multiple sub sects with their own hierarchies. I still had to come in and act as a tie breaker, a field and base commander, etc had I not we wouldve been fucked on multiple occasions. And im democratic myself, ive never ruled with an iron fist I just dont get it, maybe im looking too deep, its just one note thats off to me

See, one of the big reasons I like this abridged series so much, even just 2 episodes in, is because it nails something the light novels and anime kinda slipped up on: just how terrifying a hardcore gamer of the basement-dwelling variety would be if given actual power. In the LN and anime, it’s due to an unholy mixture of paranoia and externally-enforced lack of emotions. Here, it’s because he goes full-on God Complex and charges off down the road to complete misanthropy. JUST LIKE A REAL PERSON WITH THAT MUCH POWER AND THAT MANY GRIEVANCES AGAINST SOCIETY WOULD DO.

It's not even grievances against society, it's against the world/fate at that point. Everything you had that you cared about was about to be taken away from you (game shutting down) then suddenly you keep it... and lose everything else. Worse, you lose the people that made it worth having in the bargain. (one you never made, so it's not even your fault!) You are left with disturbing echos of the background scenery instead. Yeah, that'd be hard for the most stable and rooted person to deal with. For someone so invested (presumably for lack of other posative things in life?) that's 200 lb of crazy in a 10 lb bag. This isn't even the worst thing that could happen. 'I will rule the world as a tyrant' isn't 'I'll destroy reality and myself with it.' Which let's face it, Einz could likely accomplish.

Loved that the characters that didn't have much character actually have some. That's one of the many things I love about teams like these.
