I have been driving my BMW i3 2014 for about 5 years. Great to drive all around my city! Hopefully I will get a chance to get a bigger battery (22Kw) to at least 94hkw

Thanks for the review. I just ordered a 2019 i3s REX that is being shipped to me next week. Looking forward to it! I think the red looks unusually good on the i3s but I am getting white which is my 2nd fave.

I guess you probably don't need winter tires where you're located. I ordered the BMW i3s winter set which is a square setup of 155mm tires, will be interesting to see how they feel on the highway vs the summer set.

Wow looks sooo nice in red. And fully loaded! Mine's 2015 and boring gunmetal, I've had it a month and I totally love it. Even the smallest battery is 100% all you need around town but nice to have the REX in case I go further afield. The cat got in through my sunroof on day 1 and stuck holes in my pristine leather :(

I had a cat do that on a convertible once. I was so ticked! I have wanted an i3 ever since I test drove a private party one last year. It was a 60Ah BEV, and I do a fair amount of driving since I am in sales. I had been looking for a 2017 or later model with the full options package since I learned about these cars. Took over 8 months to get this opportunity.

Can you run the battery down a low % and not have the range extender turn on. Let's say you have 90 miles of range on the battery and you are driving 78 miles. Can you have the generator just run while it is parked ?

The REx can be set to hold state of charge manually at anytime under 75% state of charge (this is not the case in early models). The REx will automatically turn on when the SoC hits 6%. The generator does not run when parked it only will run to keep the battery from draining completely. It may stay on at a stoplight if the charge is below 6% but sitting in park it will not pull enough energy to start the generator.

hi. how to make 2 screens in carplay mode? I have carplay on full screen

it’s due to his idrive software version being older. I had this setup when I got my 19 i3 and I had to get an idrive update to enable fullscreen carplay. On older idrive NBT_evo softwares carplay i think is default with split screen idrive/carplay which would make sense since he has a 2018. I am not sure if you can flash your software back to an older version or there’s other options but this is how I got mine to work or you can use bimmercode for fullscreen carplay not split.
