It happens in every region, rank, game. Just do your job call out in voicechat even if its only 1 with you and most importantly stay positive thats all, getting triggered is the last thing you should be although everyone has there limit and gets tillted, but at that point just take a break.

This is probably the first review video I have watched that made me realize all the mistakes I have made while playing Rein. I saw myself doing all the same things that this Reinhardt player did and never thought I was doing anything wrong. I didn't even know charging at a charging reinhardt was even a viable option! Sty I'm not sure if you read this comment. But if you do I'd like to thank you. This series has helped me so much. It gives me an idea of how to play heros correctly. Because of that I've found the confidence to try new heros in quick play. I know it's not easy making these but plz don't stop. There are many game analysis vids out there, but yours is by far the most relaxed, easy to follow, and informative series yet. It's one thing to practice, but to understanding HOW to play the hero from the beginning is essential. People develop bad habits because they never practiced playing the way intended from the start. Bravo to you brother and thank you for every ounce of your hard work.

I think the problem with these OW Coaching thing is that Sty plays in way higher rank than them, and what's risky in Master level might be not in Gold. This Rein played so brawly that his shield is almost maxed out all the time and he plays Rein more like a Dva. THIS would not work above Diamond, but ended up going decent in this videow because the enemy also has a Gold rank knowledge of gameplay and awareness. I want to see Sty coaching a Master rank gameplay at some point. I'm sure we all would benefit more from that, because you can clearly see this Rein positions himself pretty bad but didn't get punished so some of us might go "Sty paused the vid and say it's bad, but nothing bad really happened after that. Duh"

Black Knight - GAMING EU tends to lack communication. It's more prevalent in gold. So shield shoutouts, discords, flanks..never get noticed. Worst is when they don't join team chat. Apart from that some gold are a lot better but don't play carry roles (e.g. Supports and tanks) which means no matter how good they are, bad dps can just lose you games. I had full payload map where enemy team just steam rolled us with our team getting 4 kills as gold elim. That was plat&diamond players. I knew 4 was gold elim along with healing... because I had it as Ana...but the toxicity...ugh. I think some people do get placed higher than they deserve which probably didn't help 'gold players are bad' mentality. But yeah, this game that soldier carried hard

gold is the mark of mediocrity in overwatch so you get good and bad players evenly distributed, it is platinum and above that holds people that are actually good at the game and silver and bronze that hold the bad players gold is the midground where you separate the men from the boys

Problem is a lot of people play without people they know, which can cause less team cohesiveness. So you can be good at the game, understanding what you need to do, but get queued with people who struggle, which will cause losing streaks. This reason, plus not having enough friends to play with, is why I don't bother with Competitive.

At 24:42 ish, right after saying keep your barrier up and he charges, and you pause it, you comment that you can't see the Widow, but she's probably off to the left. You can actually see the tracer line from Widow's last shot in the upper left under the packet loss icon, and during the charge itself before the pause, you can see one or two other shot's from her, and was firing at Ana before subsequently killing her.

I have to correct you here friend, at 17:04 he cannot charge. He's taking fire from two sides and at least 3 enemies. As soon as his barrier goes down his health will drop like a ton of bricks unless he has as Zarya bubble on him; even with the Zarya bubble, he might survive the charge, but will die shortly after anyway. I think a better tactic, I'm you're in a zugzwang scenario anyway, but maybe it would have been better to push through the room on the right? They would have to take time to block the choke, in which your barrier can replenish somewhat and you can get healed up. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this idea.

One thing I stick to when playing Rein is that rmb held down is you default position. Because you can see so much more of the battle with your shield up (because the camera zooms out), you can more effectively make a decision to drop the shield and start swinging or keep it up and keep in position. This basically means that the decision should be whether to drop the shield, not whether to raise it, as having the shield raised provides more utility for your team. Because the shield has effectively 0 raising/lowering time, flicking in and out of this default state is easy to do.

I had a crappy stint of 8 losses in a row on the PS4 and four of them involved people who quit (where one was a 2-man group) as they thought the game was over 2 minutes in due to the lack of team co-ordination. There needs to be a proper incentive to stay and finish what they started. People who disconnect can always reconnect so they won't get penalised, but anyone who knowingly rage-quits should get -50 points to their score after their second offence. That'll stop the majority of them.

@22:50 Widow can in fact be hurt inside that spawn area; since she's not in the character change area, she can take damage. I've counter-sniped a lot of widows up there. You either push them back down for 5 seconds to heal or kill them.

one thing to note is that he may be in a ts or discord with his two teammates but you are right about the communication. Also when he pushed up into the position by the gate the second time he was in the wrong position to an extent but he was protecting the soldier and the reaper to get some damage off with them so in that circumstance it was that the other players were pushing into a bad spot. that's only what I think. I may be wrong tho.

I'd just like to say, at 19:40 when he stopped swinging, I believe he was attempting to charge but didn't notice it was on cool down. I've noticed a lot of lower tiered played attempt to use skills without realising they're yet to be available. So when he stopped swinging, I'm guessing it was to use an ability that wasn't available, not just stopping swinging for the sake of it.

I'm in pretty much the same position in this player here, I'm a Reinhardt main in low gold and this guy just reminds myself as me. I think the positioning that you talk about a lot in this video is big for players like us. You say a lot that his positioning isn't great but he gets lucky and catches the enemy team off guard. I actually feel that the reason positioning is different is that players simply behave differently in lower tiers. The reason he's occasionally in weird positions is because those are often what work against other gold players. As we move up the ranks, positioning will probably change and more reflect higher-level play, but down in gold things are often different. Good video anyhow, Sty. Thanks for the tips. :)
