Owen David | A Mom's Early Term Birth Story and Baby Death at 26 Weeks

Lori Ann tells of her journey through infertility, miscarriage, and complications with her next pregnancy, which included putting in a cerclage due to an incompetent cervix and later her water breaking at 21 weeks. Instead of terminating the pregnancy, Lori Ann and her husband Matt decided to wait to see what would happen, monitoring her temperature to make sure she didn't develop an infection.
At 24 weeks, she was admitted until Owen was born at 26 weeks via emergency C-section. Owen was 2 lb and they were able to see Owen open his eyes, but he was struggling to breath on his own. They decided to remove the breathing tube, and she was able to hold him till he passed away.

I'm absolutely shocked that they sent her home. My cousin had this exact same scenario she went because her water broke at 22 weeks and they kept her in the hospital till she gave birth two weeks later.

I had a Placental Abruption and then PROM at 22 weeks. My son was born at 24 weeks and 4 days and lived for 19 days.That was in 1999. My first baby. I have had 3 children since then but my heart still aches for him. Every year on his birthday and from then until the anniversary of his death I have terrible anxiety. So sorry for your loss I know what it feels like.

I suffered through an ectopic pregnancy back in 1984. It still haunts me to this day. But, the pain is nowhere, even close, to what these couples have gone through. It’s much worse and I feel for all of them. May God bless them and their precious infants in heaven🙏🏻

Your story is incredible, I am so sorry that you lost Owen. My mom died in Hospice that same day, and the fact that the US virtually closed down for a few weeks was a small silver lining of COVID. I hope telling this story helps your healing process. Gob Bless.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Life is so unfair sometimes. I follow a lady on youtube who had a 20 week stillbirth and right now she's pregnant with her 5th child!. She had 4 healthy, fullterm babies after her loss (their 1st daughter), then a girl, twin boys and now expecting another girl. I hope that's the future you see in your dreams. She never thought it would be possible to have a family. Her name is Rachelle Swannie and their youtube is a happy joyous celebration if anyone needs some hope. I just now seen this. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you have found comfort. I just want to say...The Very Second that Owen passed, God EVER SO GENTLY took Owen and he made him ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in body and health for ETERNITY. God then took Owen and he laid him on the lap of his Most PRECIOUS ANGEL to be CARED FOR. OWEN is with Jesus now in TOTAL PEACE, A ETERNITY OF PERFECTNESS AND EXTREME BEAUTY FOR ETERNITY. ANY of your Family or Friends that have passed and call Heaven home is CARING FOR OWEN NOW. OWEN "KNOWS" you BOTH as his Mommy and Daddy and he knows your voices and he knows your faces and he IS WITH YOU 24/7, and you can talk to him and he hears you and he watches over you BOTH. Pay attention to Butterflies, Dragonflies, Pennies as they say your Loved ones in Heaven will toss Pennies from Heaven, a day with numbers like seeing 11 all day over and over or any numbers that just keep appearing...that is OWEN!!! HE IS WITH YOU ALL DAY, EVERYDAY so if you want to talk about him...he know... He is with you and you ARE HIS PARENTS...GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND MAY OWEN REST EASY
