@SpicePrincess1890 Жыл бұрын
They used to play this on my local Christian station quite regularly, but stopped playing it. I think someone (or a lot of someones) who did not understand the song called in and complained about why they were playing it, because it's not as literal and in your face with its lyrics as most Christian pop and electronic music (and lines like "blow your backbone to bits" probably confused them further lol). Makes me sad to think about that happening though :/ They still played Dreams and Disasters here and there though at least. Haven't listened to that station in probably 5 years or so, so they might not play it anymore, but hopefully.

He also said a mansion up there is just for you when it's your time as He said "I go to prepare a place for you." And to confirm the mansions, He said "if it were not so, I would have told you." Can you even fathom He still is creating awesome stuff for us up there? It's not finished until He comes back for His bride.

I love how this guy puts such truth into what he writes whether it is easy to catch consciously or not. This video (though it could have been made better in my opinion) totally praised God and the galaxy he created. He has got some amazingly cool things to say on his blog too

2:07 Oh telescope, Keep an eye on my only hope, Lest I blink and get swept off the narrow road, Hercules, you've got nothing to say to me, 'Cause you're not the blinding light that I need. For He is the saving grace of the galaxies (galaxies, galaxies, galaxies, galaxies) He is the saving grace of the galaxies (galaxies)

Dear God, YOU'RE* the only North star.

songs are lyrical poems and poems don't need correct punctuation or capitalization or any thing of that nature.

Sadly, I wish people would correct it....

Ileana Graves That is true, in some situations. However, basic grammatical rules should always be followed, this one included. The word "your" and "you're" may sound the same and may have the same base word, "you", but they mean different things. "Your," as I'm sure you know, means possessive, so strictly speaking, that sentence (though the structure doesn't make much sense) means HIS only north star, which is not at all what the lyrics are actually saying. They're saying "You ARE the only north star." Therefore, I would venture to say that this error in grammar is not to the benefit of the song. It is just that: an error. A very common one, and completely forgivable, but an error it is. Not to mention, professional endeavors should always be as grammatically correct as possible, and as this video seems pretty professional and has been seen by thousands, it would behoove it to be as grammatically correct as possible. :3

Welcome to the family, sister! I've had those times where, I'd be listening to a song that I'd known before I made that decision to trust completely in Christ to save me, and, taking in the lyrics things clicked in my head as I made connections. Words I knew became meaningful to me. I could identify with the song in a way I hadn't before. So, I know what you're sayin :) What would you say was the biggest thing that made you smile, as things were connecting while you listened to this song?
