I lived in Setauket, and my branch was Port Jefferson. Oyster Bay was the first non-PJ line branch that I travelled and it holds a special place for me. Mostly non-electric in Nassau County, serving nice towns, and great hilly country views. I highly recommend getting off at Sea Cliff on a spring or fall day and seeing the Victorian homes west of the station. I still have my 1966 Oyster Bay-Mineola ticket, which I begged off the conductor who said "we aren't supposed to do this, but ...".

Great video, I grew up in Syosset and Glen Head miss LIRR but can't afford to live there! Best regards from Florida East Coast territory near Cape Canaveral!

You are correct at the 17:05 minute mark, Sea Cliff station is in Glen Cove. Glen Cove Police, Fire & EMS are responsible for emergency calls at that station (along with MTA Police) and when looking at the grade level crossing the buildings across the street are Glen Cove Addresses. EDIT: At The 25:56 Minute Mark you are correct again, yes the russians still have an embassy in Glen Cove on Dosoris Lane just past Glen Cove High School & The YMCA. The russian embassy is on the left side of the road if you are driving north on Dosoris Lane. You can sometimes get a view of the house mainly in the winter while driving up to Glengariff Rehab & Healthcare Center. In the spring and summer the brush covers it.

Hi Tim!! Great video my friend!! I live in the town of Mill Neck with my dad Jim. My mom Pam passed away sadly back in October of 2018. She was very sick. The next time you are in the area, please let me know. I would like to meet you for the first time and do some railfanning with you. Have a wonderful evening my friend!!

Back in the 1950's at least one commuter train on the Oyster Bay branch had a private parlor car, probably subscribed by a cabal of Old Money types from the North Shore. Going to work in Manhattan in style!
