This is great! I planned on getting back into scale modeling 6 years ago and bought this kit then. I built models as a kid, but didn’t have the patience or talent and they always looked like they were built by a stupid kid. I finally picked it up and decided to do it. Then, I realized that I have no more model-building skill as an adult than I had as a kid! 😂. I found your video and it has been HUGELY helpful! New subscriber here!

Terrific builds. Like you, I do not give much thought to cockpits beyond the basics as in 1/48 you can't see much. But the outsides are what are important to me and your level of finish is great.

I did see this kit when I first got back into modeling, but luckily for me before I started the build, the Tamiya P-47 "Razorback" was issued. You can't beat those three from Tamiya, "Razorback", "Bubbletop", & "M" versions. No rudder pedals? I see why I gave my two away, plus just overall lack of detail. That's not the gunsight, that's the internal bullet proof glass. Nobody is perfect at panel lines, the oil & smoke doesn't flow perfectly also. "Pied Piper" is a PTO P-47 so the Pacific sun & weather was much harder on the paint. The antenna wire does not go to the mast, it goes to the fuse, just below the mast on the stdb side. The three came out great! Excellent addition to your build collection. Congrats!

These models are so fun to build, and the results are awesome, without "aftermarket" partes. The one thing to take in mind, it's to have good references and photos of the real thing. It's a pleasure see the models finished in the workbench, how shines, also how they have "life". My friend, thanks for the vídeo, and continues with the inspiration that the modelism gives to us. Greetings from Guatemala the Land of Quetzal Bird.
