P.Susheela was never a stoppage for Any youngster. Because soon as IR became popular, and sought after by many producers, PS started losing her No.1 position. By 1980, S.Janaki was the most popular singer and favourite singer of IR. Even for other MDs. In that process, not only PS, but even Vani Jayaram, LR.Eshwari lost their good chances. It happened to Jency also. But Sailaja could sustain as she was in Chennai and most importantly, she was Sister of SPB. Later IR could not stop his findings. That specious find was Chithra. No one could stop her growth.

Jency did not get any chances due to insistence of a senior singer, who was the prime singer of Ilayaraja. There was a female duet by the Senior and Jency under IR. On hearing the power in Jency’s voice, she made a strong appeal to IR. By that time, around 50-60 songs were already sung by Jency under IR. She sang very few under other MDs. As the senior said “I am now No.1 in Tamil after a long wait, I don’t want lose the position” and continued her resistance, IR decided not to give songs. At the same time, Jency got a Govt school job, their family persuaded Jency to accept the Govt job and Jency was not heard in Tamil movies.

In the 1950's to 60's, WHY were OLD SINGERS like Jikki, Jamuna Rani etc. got fewer chances compared to P. Susheela? Were MSV and KVM the reasons for sidelining those singers? The issue of singer availability on a specific day is NOT limited to Jency alone. SPB was supposed to sing something which made Malaysia Vasudevan become a singer. How many of us know that he was in ninth position in all time talented composers of the world. In one interview with screen play writer R.Selvaraj told chitra sir that panju Arunachalam searched new music director because of some distrubance given by MSV how many of us know? There have been so many initiations taken by so many persons to degrade ilayaraja ,he broken all hurdles and still his songs are floating every where. Actually the first song of ANNAKILI given to LR.EASWARI for her vibrated voice but she simply neglected because of IR was new but so many people criticized wrongly. There are so many persons who could compose song but the main success is that how long that songs travel in the heart of people.
