Nice video as always!! And to answer you torque spec question I believe it's 9-13Ft Lb. I really never torque them since it barely requires any real force. And honestly it's amazing that you do everything by " THE BOOK " cheers🍻 and keep pumping these videos . I've honestly had encountered the tapping noise coming from the Gdi pump on the 6 cylinders, not much on the 4 cylinders tho!

This was my 2nd gdi pump failure so far and only on 4 cylinder engine. About the torque spec. it’s 8.7 ft lb per book but I always go 10 ft lb. lol.. You don’t really have to do that but if you wish to know here’s how. after removing the high pressure fuel pump there is roller tapper you have to remove, after removing the roller tapper you can able to see cam lob/topper position, then you can put 22mm wrench on your crank bolt turn it clockwise “NOTE DO NOT TURN IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE” from there you can able to identify lob/topper position. At idle its about 279.92 psi, yes it does increase when RPM increase, HP pump is spring loaded you can install it in any cam position. Thanks

Hi. I found this video useful but cant completely relate to this. I’ll describe the problem maybe you can help. Sometimes car struggles to start engine. I guess mostly when its under direct sun. I have the same two codes. Sometimes engine light can come up and then go away.

If the fuel line is 1 use wouldn't you have to replace that again when the new pump comes?

To look for fuel leakage on HP pump. Did you have to remove fuel lines before removing pump from engine? Is there enough slack to get pump up in position like in your video? I assume key on to build pressure then look for leak at plunger? Thanks

Remove two 10mm bolt from HP “do not reuse bolt” you can gently bend the HP line just enough slack to inspect HP for leaks, cycle the key on/off position few times and keep in on to build pressure then check for leaks. If the HP line 19MM bolt accidentally break loose, you have to replace the line when installing it.

P2297 o2 sensor out of range during deceleration B1S1, there is possibilities that this code exist because of air fuel mixture is rich or lean, I advice to work on this codes first p017200/p016b00 before replacing o2 sensor.

Hello, I have the same code in my car, the injectors have already been replaced, the sensors have been checked and the fault continues, it could be the gdi pump as described in your video, the symptoms are: the car takes time to start, the engine explodes, it has an odor to gasoline, black smoke, burnt plugs and high fuel consumption, i have a santa fe sport 2017 2.0t

Have you replace engine oil after repair? If you don’t the fault continues due to fuel contamination on engine oil, check your GDI pump, remember some of those parts are one time use only. You can also add fuel additives. Good luck.
