I performed Paganini/Liszt's La Campanella on one bass... One of the hardest videos I've ever made! Took some inspiration from the Liszt version too!

Original Composition: Paganini Violin Concerto No.2
The notation underneath is the violin part in Paganini's concerto. I added harmony that is based on the piano part, and also made some alterations at certain points to make it more effective on bass.
Special thanks to Zachary Brunetti, AhLun, Flooft_TK, Colin Heberling, Timothy Gabrielson, Turpid, David Geschke, Dario Cimmino, Rob Nack and all my other Patrons!

The thing is most violinist actually skip this section, either because they've never noticed it or its "Too hard". I mean it has double harmonics, left hand pizzicato and a lot more yet its very virtuosic, beautiful and musically hard. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXXVZninr9mJaqM

Well, Paganini himself was actually a guitarist as well as a violinist, and his composition were done on a guitar as opposed to a keyboard. This is trully a great homage to Paganini.

Range wise, it has to fit on the instrument. I bet he transposed it to fit the range of the 4 string as best as he could (I noticed he needed a trigger to get a low note or two...and some harmonics to get the super high notes...)

The original version of la Campanella is in Paganini Violin Concerto 2, which is in B minor. It appears in the third movement. Hope this clears that up!

At this point I have only one question: Is there any bassline, any piece that you're legitimately scared to play?
@wocilradix
@wocilradix 4 жыл бұрын
Charles needs to answer this. He even has to play a piece that he admits he cannot play and show the failure, just to show that he's still a human, and there's a piece that is impossible on bass alone. Because if he can't, i don't think anyone else can
