Honestly I just want to thank you for all your daily videos . I'm on week 9 of recovery from back and severe sciatica. I found you early on in my journey. Doctor told me it will most likely be chronic and they were the words I feared the most from the start. I started looking up chronic pain to try my best to research and not have to accept it. I found you. You have helped me tremendously and just help me to stay positive going into the next day. I have recommended your channel multible times from back pain groups. And I truly hope they found what I have from you. 😊

I remember - in my mid 20’s - my Dad was driving me somewhere that I was late for. He asked why I was so nervous that day. Anxiety. I told him that I was thinking about something that was scaring me. He said. “ Change your thoughts. “ lol. He taught me something I kept with me my whole life. 👍

Yes exactly. If I already feel unwell physically, I won’t add catastrophic thoughts to that mix. I will chose to think about happier stuff. If I’m overthinking everything ( which is a kind of personality trait), I try to feel what emotions are behind that. Not digging everything up, just looking back and recognizing what triggers me at that moment to feel that way. I was also 🤔 thinking ( 😀)in the first 17 years of my journey ( without knowledge of pdp), I was constantly focused on getting rid of my pains. Now I don’t try that anymore. On difficult times I just ADD positive things : thinking / experiences to the mix of symptoms, and when positive is bigger then negative you can eventually neutralize the whole stuff. I was not good in chemistry but that lesson I understood! Just my way of playing with this concept. Ps: good experiences don’t have to cost big effort : warm cup of zen- tea, phone call to a friend, taking a soothing warm bath, putting a chair in front of the open window and breathe etc.. Have a cozy feel good Dan and everyone ❤

Inge we all overthink at times. Dealing with chronic pain is not easy as I know only too well. Listen to an interview or two with Dr David Hanscom. He was a spine surgeon and also suffered from Chronic pain for years. Let me know what you 🤔, you will find him on KZbin. ❤️

Walked 0.8 miles to the gym. My second day at the gym. I was able to breathe better walking. I only had to stop once to catch my breath. The gym was very clean and spacious and the music was low thank God. I did 40 minutes on the trend mill and 3.23 miles on the bicycle, and ½ stretching. I was actually enjoying myself. As long as I stayed in the moment and did not think about all the things I needed to do, I was fine. The walk back home was a little more difficult, anxiety - trouble breathing. I came upon a very quint bar and restaurant, the architecture inside from the late 1800s, Christmas tree and fireplace. It was lovely so I had a light brunch. When I got home, I took a hot Epson salt bath and so my muscles relaxed but my stomach was upset. Digestive issues instead of muscle issues and fatigue. Riding it out. Thanks Dan - I see how I can lick this thing.

Hi Dan, yes thoughts are just that they are not true. So tell yourself you can do this , feel confident as your brain is listening. Stop 🛑 thinking, talking about your pains and the past.. etc it just keeps it going. Get out for a walk in nature , sunshine ☀️ and live your life….thats your main message. Thanks Dan for all your teachings, and reminders. ❤️

You touch on a good point that we are all human. Self compassion teaches us that we are not uniquely broken, or wrong, or failing. We are simply going through a human experience which many others are going through too.

I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me recover from two chronic symptoms in the past 2 years. It was a blessing to have found you here on KZbin during my frantic search for answers. I'm currently experiencing another set of chronic symptoms (ongoing for 8+ months now) that I'm having a hard time believing are actually TMS, and have come back to your channel for my daily dose of safety. This has been my most challenging symptoms to overcome, probably because of my doubt and unbelief. Never the less, thank you for giving to us so consistently.

I think Christmas and the holidays are stressful for most of us. I had a twitch happen on my cheek for a few days after Christmas. I am sure it was my mind causing this from stress. Our bodies are very attuned to our thoughts and feelings.

I've had an eye twitch for 6 weeks now. Once I started worrying about it I got a twitch in the other eye. Then I panicked and started getting twitches in my face, arm and leg. I know it's fear/anxiety/stress but having a hard time finding the strength to resist the negative thought spirals that tell me I have a neurological disorder.

Thanks Dan! I recently experienced a flare. By implementing your strategies and listening to your daily videos, the flare was shorter lived (2 weeks versus 2 months). I have been following you since the beginning and it has taken me time to really integrate and truly believe the concepts and key safety messages. I didn't give up and persisted with it. Good outcomes. Thank you for all that you do!

Can you help please Dan?, I’ve been watching your videos for about 7 months now. I’m nearly 3 years post op on my lower spine for Tarlov cysts. Thanks to you I am now living a fuller life but still restricted by symptoms and pain. Since my op I have constant numbness in my buttocks and coccyx area which prickles and burns especially when I sit down. On your website you mention this as being TMS but I’ve never heard you talk about it in your videos, and any further help or reassurance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you x

I have been watching your daily videos religiously especially the one on the 4 pillars. I think I have most of them figured out except 1. I have spondylolisthesis so standing or walking to long creates my pain systems. When they start flaring up I can’t help but think of my MRI pictures and the surgeon who was very convincing and showed me where the nerve is being compressed. How do I convince my brain to ignore this? So difficult and frustrating.
@PainFreeYou

What is on the MRI is not proof that it's the cause of pain. How pain behaves is much more of an indicator of what is going on. What's your score on the pain test? How many of the FIT questions do you answer yes? IsThisPDP.com
