Hey Erik, apple employee here, 99% of the time if the charger doesn’t have that tight seal when plugging in usually means there’s something clogging the port like Colleen said, pocket lint, sand, are all common things! Give it some canned air, or at least take a look and usually an employee will be able to clean it out for you which they should have offered to do!

This iPhone thing happened to my husband. Ended up being a lint issue because he puts his phone in his pocket. Clean the charging area with a toothpick.

Never thought in my life I would find two people talking to each other about their own little (and big) stresses of life - so calming. Almost reassuring us all it is ok, we all have it, we all need things that have to relax, but look we can talk about it and share it so that other people see they are not alone. Colleen what the actual HECK. You are an artist…that legit looks like Erik, and human portraits are extremely hard because any detail on the face that’s off changes the whole face but the fact that you got that close to his actual face is CRAZYYY lol

Colleen's painting is incredible and really captures Erik's vibe and essence, I think. Erik's painting is very artistic and skillful, but I don't think it captures Colleen very well. But what I get from it is that he loves her lips and her eyes, as those seem to be the things most highlighted. I think he did an incredible job on the skin shading

Things I get at Sonic: - mozzarella sticks - tater tots - jumbo popcorn chicken - French toast sticks - corn dogs - peanut butter cup blast (they have other flavors of blasts too, but that one is my favorite)

My husband and I ditched a restaurant when we were dating. We were poor college kids and he did research to make sure he could afford this one restaurant. What he didn’t plan on was them having a special menu for Valentines Day that was more expensive. We went back and forth before the waitress came back to take our order until we just got up and left, but we left $5 on the table to cover the sodas. We went the wrong way out the door, so we had to walk around the back of the restaurant to avoid passing the front door to get to a fast casual restaurant we loved. It was awkward in the moment but is now a fond memory from when we were dating. 😂❤

I didn’t even realize that I have a problem with wearing outside clothes in the bed until this podcast! I get dressed in the morning and chill on the *made* bed, but that’s before I’ve exited the house so the clothes haven’t been contaminated yet. Definitely shoes don’t go on the bed. I also don’t wear socks on the bed that I’ve worn to walk around the house. Ok…so we’re learning things about ourselves here today. Clearly, I need to relax.

Colleen! Skin care (obsessed) person here! I totally feel your frustration with finding the right skincare its so individual, i recommend checking out youtube reviewers like Doctorly, Iames Welsh or Hyram theyre all great influencers in the skincare space that go through all the trouble of researching for you. I have learned so much from their channels

It can be crawfish, crayfish or crawdaddy. All are dependent on where you grew up. Also, go with a Samsung!! You wont regret it. Never have charging problems, batteries last so long and pictures are amazing. You can do so much with an android. You may not get apple's face time, but you can still video call.

I feel like a big deciding factor of if you care about "outside clothes" in bed or not is if you shower before bed or in the morning. I usually shower in the morning, so it doesn't matter if I get "outside clothes" in/on my bed. Although the idea of wearing jeans under covers does make me cringe

According to grammarly: Louisianans most often say crawfish, whereas Northerners are more likely to say crayfish. People from the West Coast or Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas often use the term crawdad.

I walked out of a restaurant last week too! I took a day trip by myself to the beach and I like to eat at a pier restaurant that has indoor or outdoor seating on the pier. They also have an inside and outside bar area. It is a weird combination of casual or fancy goes. Some people just walk up off the beach, put on a cover up, and rinse off their sandy feet with the spicket on the stairs. Others dress up and park and don't come directly from the beach. Either way, most people aren't parties of one. I was alone though, so I asked for a table for a party of one outside (this was at like 3pm, not a rush time. I had some reasons for wanting to be outside, and they normally have small tables available.) I was informed that the only outdoor seating available would be in the sun, because of a section being closed for an upcoming event, or I could sit at the bar. So I decided to go for the bar option, even though I didn't want alcohol because I was already tired and had to drive home soon. On the walk there, I passed by a bunch of open tables in the shade (not in the closed section, not the tiny tables.) I got to the bar and one side had stools half in the sun and the other side had one stool left behind a machine and stuff on the counter and next to a group of young adults. I opted for the stool next to them in the shade. They looked at me like I was an alien. I waited there awkwardly for several minutes and nobody was even there waiting behind the counter. I finally decided to leave and go elsewhere. I didn't think it was right that they had plenty of tables in the shade available (it wasn't even that busy,) yet they wouldn't give me an option to seat me at one of those, rather just wait for bigger parties to come and spend more. They also didn't even have anyone working at the bar area for quite awhile (the whole time I was sitting there.) I didn't feel bad walking out, I'm not sure anyone even noticed.

Just a suggestion for Erik’s phone- try and clean out the charging port of the phone. My fiancé always put his phone in the front pocket of his jeans and the lint of the jeans was getting into the port and his charger could no longer go into the port until we cleaned it out. We couldn’t see the lint by just looking in it but when we would begin to clean it our lint would come out. Just a thought!

About the wearing outside clothes in your bed thing, it never occurred to me that this was such a controversial issue tbh, but then again I haven’t given it much thought at all either. 😅 I am one of those people, who does sometimes lay down in bed for a minute while still wearing my outside clothes. Having lived in survival mode for many years now and frequently experiencing sensory overload, I feel like I simply don’t have the mental capacity or physical energy to worry about first changing into clean clothes in such instances. Like, as soon as I get home feeling exhausted, and finally get the chance to rest and recharge for a bit before moving on to my tasks and duties at home, such as cooking, I just want to lay down and can’t be bothered about what clothes I am wearing. 🙈 But other than that, I always wear clean pyjama’s when I actually turn in for the night. 👍 However, your discussion about germs etc. now makes me think twice about wearing outdoor clothes in my bed again. 😁

You guys know about the “A hotdog is a sandwich “ podcast, right? It’s hosted by the mythical Kitchen hosts. Colleen you were literally on “Good Mythical Morning!” It’s a spinoff of that show! That is actually how I discovered you! You were on there talking about your pregnancy cravings when you were pregnant with Flynn! They introduced you simply as “ a fan!” 😂 I had no idea you had your own channel until it came across my feed!😂😂

Colleen, there are regional differences in the south regarding what you call the crawfish/crawdad/crayfish/craydad. It's the way many southern people determine which state you're from. In Alabama, we call it a crawdad.

ERIK My husband had the same phone issue several times in a row. He had a retail management job where his phones were constantly exposed to glitter and such. As soon as he switched jobs he didn't have that problem anymore. You're probably either getting sand or Colleen's craft glitter in your port!

Sonic - Tater tots with cheese is always a go-to for us. I don't care for their burgers but every place is different and the one near you may have really good burgers. My husband always gets a footlong chili cheese dog and Ched "R" Peppers (fried jalapenos stuffed with cheese and dipped in Ranch dressing). I would LOVE to see that podcast! A Sonic Mukbang.. bring back the Mukbangs!
