I am so glad you posted. I am a 47 year old American who teaches "arts and crafts" (small "a" small "c") to adults and I always encourage them to believe in themselves and to create with joy and passion. When it comes to my own self, I never felt like I could actually PAINT a THING like, not representational art... Until I discovered your channel and binge-watched all your tutorials and did the peony. Your style of teaching, your sweet and calm demeanor, the visual beauty of your work, studio, self, video-editing, all converge to make it my favorite channel for art and top 3 channels on all of KZbin. I have anxiety too. You aren't alone either. Thanks for everything you do. I love your Vlogs. They are a real treat and I find them very calming. And you should definitely feel free to be real. It's your channel after all. There is a Dr. Seuss quote that always rings true with me. Be who you are "because the people who mind don't matter and the people who matter don't mind." ❤️

Hi Katie - I've been following you for quite some time - I'm an artist, too. Like a lot of people that have commented, I, too, struggle with panic and anxiety. I think "creatives" are more prone to that. My oldest son is a musician and he struggles, too. Like you said, just hang in there - those moments are not permanent - they WILL pass. You're doing a wonderful job with your art and getting out there - I'm 62 and have painted all my life - I had no outlet except for little local exhibitions, never made much money at it BUT I kept painting because I HAD to. You are so fortunate to have all the social media nowadays!!! Keep up the good work, you are making great progress! What a blessing to have such a sweet and supporting husband!

One of my other youtubers I watch just "came out" that she has anxiety. I feel that this is going to be helpful to the world. Social media can make people's lives look perfect 100% of the time. And use viewers forget that its not always perfect, then we become depressed, jealous, any negative emotion. This helps bring reality back. Thanks for being vungerable. Yes, we are not alone

It was very brave of you to talk about panicking attacks and anxiety. So many people suffer from mental issues and don’t talk about it. There’s no shame in feeling anxious or having a panic attack and it’s good to know they’re not the only one. I know this is an old video, but I still wanted to let you know how much it’s appreciated!

Awww. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your personal struggles. I have found that those of us that share that very human trait tend to experience all of life a bit more acutely. We tend to be more aware of and sensitive to all of our surroundings. These traits can, at times, feel very overwhelming, yet I've come to realize that it is a trait that can also enrich our lives with deep relationships to our environments. Yet what I've always found odd is that unless we share our sensitivities, others tend to see us as creative, intuitive and self assured. When we sometimes feel anything but. So glad you have a supportive and loving husband who cheers you on.

Hi Katie, I only came upon your chanel about a week ago... I actually just recently started to show interest in painting. I usually bake, sew or crochet, but thats just becoming boring, I am a stay at home mom, I like to have something to keep the hands busy while kids are at school. So, I started searching for tutorials and ideas on what to paint and obviously where and how to🙈 From all the "vlogs" out there yours are absolutely THE best!! I love your work and most of all your kindness and that you're so humble. You must never doubt yourself I can only wish to be as good as you!! Id like to wish you many blessings and loads of success for the future, keep doing what you love, you're stunning at it! Sending my love from beautiful Cape Town, South-Africa Liana X

Katie, I’ve been watching your videos for about a year and I have to thank you for your genuine honesty in this post. Not that the others were any less, but this was a part of your personal life you didn’t need to share but did. That was so brave of you. Didn’t even realize you were married! Panic attacks and anxiety are such a pain, but we push on and remember to smile when the sun comes out. You are an inspiration, my dear. I’ve learned so much from you. Please keep on posting and sharing. Hugs from south Texas.❤️

I look up to you all the time to motive me in the painting process. I have my panic attack and anxiety just like you do. Painting saves me and makes me a better person who can enjoy my daily life. I learn a lot from you from painting to having a free spirit in the way I demonstrate life.

Hi Katie. Thanks for giving us a peek on a day in your life. It’s inspiring. I love the journaling part, the tea-drinking part, the fact that you have a lot of cups to choose from and I love where you live. It seems very conducive for creativity. It’s also inspiring how you try to enjoy painting, how you do not let the pressure destroy the joy of making art.

I know drawing and painting help people with anxiety, but the reality from some people is that if they spent all the time drawing, but the wayI love drawing , paintin etc, people can get stress for the income issues. A balance is the best, I am doing so and I feel much better.

LOVE the ending. You and your husband are just adorable. This video just resonated so much with me. I struggle with anxiety and panic attacks as well, and it's always a... I guess a relief to know that other people struggle with it as well. Sometimes I feel insane for feeling the way I do so knowing others have similar struggles is a comfort I suppose. I love your channel and you really are such an inspiration to me. What your husband said at the end about how you don't always believe you're good enough to do things was surprising to me. You always seem to confident to me.

Just catching up on some of your older videos. I love how you are able to convey your feelings and story telling through the music and paintings you chose to share with us. I am feeling your emotions from this day intensely after watching. It brings back the sh**ty feelings of my own, when this used to happen to me very frequently. You feel trapped and unexplanatory about why the anxiety kicks in, literally for no good reason. I hope over the past couple of years you've been able to manage it better. It is EXTREMELY exhausting to be positive all the time; as much good as it is to stay positive, it's also not good to bottle the emotions for the convenience of others. Thank you Katie, for sharing. Cheers!

You know Katie as artists, we are natural “sensitives” in that we are more sensitive to the world around us than most. We pick up on the slightest environmental changes and this can and does affect our mood. With that in mind, never apologise for crying, it is good to cry and release our delicate tears back into the world, it reminds us that we are only human and crying is part of the human psyche, so try to embrace the freedom crying gives us ❤️

I'm so sorry you go through anxiety. I also experience the same thing. I hate panic attacks. They make me feel like I'm dying. I hate that mental health is something taboo to talk about. Christmas Eve I confided in a family member about what I was going through and she just couldn't grasp the idea of someone having anxiety and panic attacks. It made me feel like I was crazy and what I'm going through isn't real. Thank you for talking about your real life feelings. Anyone going through these things, you aren't alone! ❤️

Thanks for sharing. I get anxiety about whether I'm good enough at things too and it can really get you down to a point where you want to give up on your dreams completely. But in saying that if you don't have a go at something you want to do, one day you might just regret it. But ever since I discovered your channel and subscribed I always enjoy your videos, vlogs and tutorials. I have always found them relaxing and have learned so much from. And I like your style of painting especially the florals. I also think you are very blessed to have such a supportive husband who can go on KZbin and say those beautiful things about you. I love seeing vlogs from you and seeing a vulnerable side. Not that I’m getting entertainment from a distress of any sorts. But like you said, best, being happy al the time isn’t practical. And I think it’s important we show that when we share our lives on the Internet. It’s so easy to look from the outside in and see, “she has a perfect life, mine is awful.” You keep it real and vulnerable. Anyway. I just really enjoyed this whole video. It was really nice and allowed me to get to know you, better. Love from Atlanta, Georgia 🇺🇸

You are very talented and I too experienced panic attacks in the past. How I over came feeling anxiety is believing in myself and not to worry about tomorrow. Take one day at a time and try to help people wherever you go . I know helping someone makes me feel better. Hopefully I've helped you understand how to manage anxiety. Taking a couple of deep breathes when the anxiety starts to affect your mood. you will notice anxiety will start to fade away.

I used to suffer with anxiety and panic attacks for a couple of years and hearing you speak of them reminds me of the terror and fear they used to cause me. I’m praying for you, that you are completely healed and set free of them, as I was. For me, God (Jesus) healed me of them, I’ve not had one for 6 years and that’s purely because I can’t rely on myself to hold it all together. Agreeing with hubby , you are a great artist !!!! And not only artist but teacher !! How can you doubt yourself ... your are a genius !! So creative !!! So beautiful inside and out , you have taught me so much , about technique , to go for it , and i did way back ..The Wave ... it was just amazing , following your step by step instruction and following you capture something full of motion like a beautiful wave ..and voila, hey presto .. there it was on my canvas , a beautiful wave that looked so real !!! and ready for gifting to my dad for Father’s Day last year as one of my first paintings . I told him all about your genius and talent .... but all he cared about was his gift from me and you , so thank you and never doubt yourself , thank goodness for a supportive hubby , bless you both .

Thank you. I saw this video before but i didnt finished. And now i do. Todays my birthday and im 24. I still live with parents. I haven done or finished my career yet but im on that process i also paint. And paint its a part of me that helps me with my hard moments. I think i feel like me when painting. Today i recived a phone call from my ex. Who i still love. Hes already making his life with someone else and it hits me hard knowing i havent or be able to move one. Anyways. This video helped me in somekind of way. I still lonely but loving something paint.

Love how vulnerable you are! I struggle with anxiety too and I always try to remind myself that my thoughts are not always reality...and that I'm doing the best that I can with what I have and that is enough. Glad I follow you because you're always such an encouragement to me and I love learning how to be a better painter by following your tutorials!

I just found your channel, and I've been binge watching your videos haha. I'm in a difficult time and I don't know what I want or should do, and so I feel so much pressure with everything creative because I really want to turn it into a career but I'm not sure I'm there yet. But just watching what you do makes me calmly productive. I watch some of your videos and then I can relax and actually get started with something. Thank you.

Your videos are so beautiful! You are such a lovely person and thank you for sharing your art with us. I too am at the age where my fashion from a coupe decades ago is now trendy. I shudder to think of the early 2000s fashion coming back!

I know this video is from last year, but I just wanted to send so much love and support to those who suffer from mental illness. even though it's not realistic to be positive all the time, I think it is so important that when we are in positive and upbeat spirits that we share those feelings and support those who may not be having that kind of day. a smile, a comforting word, and sometimes just a listening ear can be so invaluable. Love and peace in heart and mind to everyone!❤❤❤

Hi my sweetie pie! You touched the hearts of many today, I for sure. Katie, you are an amazing human being who gently bears your inner soul and inner souls of others with your eloquent beauty and spirit. To me, it is better to live a life of ups and downs, for it is only then when your inner voice speaks and your creativity is released. A true artist accepts his/ her anxieties and insecurities and only then flies higher than one believes is able to. You are truly wonderful and never forget that. Hugs and kisses. Bravo to hubbie for being there in difficult times.
