Decent Job - in the middle of a T5 conversion myself right now, and opted for "Raptor Paint" and kind of wishing I had done this instead now 🤣 BTW is that an old GTi 205 sat dying in the shed? great cars 👌

Brush painting is another alternative, after a year or so it can be flatted and compounded, i'm thinking of using hammerite smooth or simillar and i'm 100% confident of doing a fine job.

honestly, don't use hammerite smooth.if want to use that type of paint get rustoleum hardhat spray.far nicer finish .

So how many paint cans did you get through and how did the varnish finish hold up?

With doing the door shuts and roof I used 16 cans of paint and 15 lacquer. It's held up rally well tbh way better than I thought

You can chose matte, satin or gloss. I went for the gloss and it did have a slight orange peel finish but I have wet sanded it and polished it now 👍

The base is bolted down to the original seat bases and then there's a frame welded behind to hold the back support 👍

You would of been better off buying a small compressor and a couple litres of proper paint you can get a cheap gun from 40 quid you wouldn't of got alot better coverage not bad though for a hand can job🤘

@@poordecisions2128 if you get your paint mix right 2parts paint 1 part thinner 1 part activator give her a light tack coating all over you will probably do a good job run in nice straight lines panel by panel 1.4 gun nosel you be surprised how 😌 it is I taught myself years ago done some amazing jobs 😀
