Beautiful job, Vince! It's always such a pleasure and an inspiration to watch a master like yourself at work. I have a very low-level question, if I may ask... It looks like you've attached the model to an unfolded paper clip, stuck into a cork: how is the paper clip then attached to the model? Do you drill a hole in the sole of the boot that's slightly smaller than the diameter of the paper clip head and jam the paper clip in there, or is a glue or adhesive of some sort involved?
@cliffwood73862 жыл бұрын
I've done both - I'd recommend pinning into the model if you have a good place for it. Just glue seems to always come off at an inopportune time (though for resin/metal models it can be easier). I usually make a hole the same size or slightly larger than a paperclip/staple, then glue it inside. When I'm done I can either cut it off, or more likely use it as a pin into the base.
@VinceVenturella2 жыл бұрын
So I have videos on pinning models, watch those. But yes, just drill up into the foot and then super glue it in.

Vince, how do you pluck up the courage to do metallics after a final varnish? What would your process be if you made a mistake? This scares the living daylights out of me! Would welcome your encouragement/advice.
@VinceVenturella2 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand, I varnish repeatedly often. :) - it makes it easier to use metallics. If they go somewhere you don’t want, you can just flood the area and erase with your brush without damaging the underlying layer because of the varnish.
@Votann2 жыл бұрын
@@VinceVenturella Thank you for the response to my (admittedly clunky) question! I think my concern would be damaging the varnish or the paint where I try to remove the metallic. How would you remove any mistakes with a metallic paint without damaging the varnish or underlying layers? Say, if it had already dried a little?
