Owned my a1p for nearly 6 years now (same colour) and such an underrated bike. I’ve had many bikes but this the most comfortable I’ve ever owned and feels very much like my old 95 fireblade. I’ve been offered a 96 cbr600f from my dad as he can’t ride anymore and it’s absolutely mint low mileage example but I prefer the zx6r and I’ve always considered the cbr600f the best bike ever made especially after owning 4 of them!!

Cheers for this. One of the pipes on mine has a split in it, so might as well just remove it instead of replacing it

I have read some conflicting stuff on what happens to unburnt fuel when the secondary air system is removed, there is a theory going about that if you still have a cat in the exhaust it can run too hot. I'm running stock exhaust and carbs but removed mine as the rubber joints had got sloppy and the vacuum valve kept sticking, I've got an early J with no cat to worry about thankfully and also kept the crankcase breather attached to the airbox. It really does tidy up the area in front of the carbs too.

hi, what´s the objective for that?
@kawasakizx6r81317 күн бұрын
Hi. When you say what's the objective for that I assume you mean why remove it. I can only reiterate what I say in the first 6 minutes of the video. This item is fitted for emission reasons to remove unburnt fuel from the engine. Because I have a full system, k&n, dynojet kit, 4 degree advance rota fitted I wanted to adjust my fueling on the carb, to do that correctly you need to put the bike on a dyno. When the bike goes on the dyno, they will put an air fuel rod up the exhaust so they are able to read the fueling. The secondary air injection system interferes with this and gives an inconsistent or not completely accurate reading. That's it. Hope that helps. Tim.

@kawasakizx6r813 @kawasakizx6r813 nice, I have an equal motorcycle, but mine´s in failing in high rotation, do you know if the air screw adjust it, or just the needle? do know some tutorial video? so thanks!

Secondary air has nothing to do with the evap system. It reduces the NOx in the exhaust.

Hi. Thanks for the comment. I'm really sorry, I'm trying to understand what you have said. I'm unsure if it's a statement, question or a criticism on the video. Just wanted to clarify so I could respond. Many thanks Tim.
@dpforth8 ай бұрын
@@kawasakizx6r813 Secondary air is an anti-pollution system that reduces the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust. The evap system reduces the release of unburned hydrocarbons (evaporating from gasoline) into the atmosphere. Neither system costs any performance.
