I grew up here. This can actually be a pretty sweet mountain when there’s good snow. We used to call it “New Mexico’s Best Kept Secret.” They honestly have some of the best moguls you can find anywhere. Go to the “Fab 4” (Nuther Mother, Sidewinder, Breathless, and Precious). I ski Mary Jane at Winter Park all the time, and Pajarito holds it’s own when it comes to moguls. Other good mogul runs are Mal’s run, Porcupine Park, Wildcat, and Mushroom. I think you could have given a rating for lodging. There are several hotels in Los Alamos, 15 minutes away. I’m grateful this mountain is still here. It’s experienced two very destructive wildfires that nearly burned down the entire mountain. The area used to get more consistent snow, and the hillsides nearby used to be covered in lush green forests. Unfortunately they were scarred in the fires. The views are still outstanding. The biggest issue are the old lifts. If they can invest more money in the lifts and get some solid, consistent snow, it is a hidden gem.

I grew up snowboarding down this mountain. It's really a place for locals, but if your goal is to hit Pajarito, there are hotels within 20 in minutes to The Lodge in Los Alamos. For food, Chili Works, their breakfast burrito's are legendary. Also I agree with all of your ratings. I get that it was the last day of the season, but that's pretty much 1/2 of the season is

My family in like 2004 went to Santa Fe for spring break. We had been there before but never during spring break. It was packed. We heard of pajarito some how and decided to risk it and go out there the next day. It was empty and amazing. That night I am in the hotels hot tub when a girl I was going to school with in oklahoma jumps into the hot tub. One of the strangest things I have ever had happen, running into a class mate 650 miles away from home is wild. Anyways we ended up going back to pajarito for the next 2 days then spent the last day at santa fe, thats where my snowboarding basically ended as a child ran into me which caused me to bury my knee into a sharp rock. I havent been able to snowboard since so I am stuck with ski's.

Angel fire! I will have a review soon on it!

@@JohnathanBuckhouse Definitely Angel Fire for families. I've been skiing Pajarito for 45 years and I would never call it a resort. What's great about it? 15 minutes from my house/work, steap bump runs and trees, cheap season pass, small town vibe, no lift lines, sense of community with a club that's been around for over 75 years and yes, as another poster stated, was started by the scientists that developed the first atomic bombs during World War II. Sorry you didn't find locals to show you the stashes. That definitely helps. Well that and when there's more snow....
