And started taking/stealing/kicking out the present renters ie the Pals then the Jews are wrong. If what the Pals say is true why didn’t the Jews leave them, their homes/apts and land alone. And just build in all the places the Palestinian’s weren’t renting/owned or is this the story of gentrifiers ie Jews. And there wasn’t enough land to build new on, enough houses/apts to share. So the Jews decided to just start pushing the Pals out finding ways to take their homes/apts/land even killing them once they formed their army. The Bible says as I mentioned God gives the land to the Jews who he chose for a job. He did not give it to them in his words cause they were worthy, special or of integrity. Acts 2:5-13 gets confusing but first are described Jews from different nations,(verses 5-9),each hearing the Holy Spirit speaking in the native tongue of the nation they were from, through the 120 people who had the tongues of fire appear over their head.(verses1-4). But then verse 10 after saying how is it that we are hearing in our own native language?, with verse 10-11 describing them as both Jews and Proselytes, Cretans and Arabians,...... These people also had to become filled or possessed by the Holy Spirit in order to hear the Spirit speaking to them this way. A ftnte regarding other tongues says: Echoes can be heard of the tragedy of Babel, where God used multiple languages to confuse and scatter the family of man(Gen 11:1-9), But during Pentecost hope was the message as the Spirit used multiple languages to communicate the gospel and gather together the family of God. (Acts 2:11). About 3,000 men were baptized that day of Pentecost. Towards the end of this video the Lutheran speaker mentions how Jesus and Mary are written of ninety (90) times in the Quran.

Unfortunately, this Bishop completely quotes the verse out of context. All the people mentioned in chapter 2 of Acts were Jews. The 'Arabs' of Acts 2:11 that the Bishop refers to would have been Jews from the Arab region. The event was a Jewish feast in Jerusalem called Shavuot or Pentecost (ch 2:1). It was also the disciples who were filled by the Holy Spirit (verse 4). Verse 5 states that it was Jewish people from every nation who were the crowd that the disciples preach to..... This gives the context to explain that those of various languages that heard the disciples were ALL Jews.... so, the Bishop here ignores the context to misuse the text of the Bible to promote his narrative. This is not in any way to say that the Holy Spirit cannot fall on Arab people (or that any other people group are excluded) - that would be completely contradictory to Scripture - however, it is very sad when a Bishop who has clearly had Biblical/Theological training, twists Scripture out of context to fit a narrative because he wants to say that the Arabs were the original Christians. It is disingenuous and unhistorical, particularly when he claims to be 'Evangelical' (which would suggest a much more reading in context style of interpreting the Bible). The first believers were ALL Jews. Later in Acts we see the surprise of the early believers when the Holy Spirit falls on non-Jews.

These two gentlemen do not live in Gaza or the West Bank. How many Christian Palestinians living in Gaza voted for Hamas in 2006? How many support them now? How many Christians living in Gaza are free to publicly express their religious beliefs and carry out Jesus’s great commission: “go and make disciples of all nations , baptizing them in the name of the father, son, and Holy Spirit.” Zero, none. Doing so would would be illegal and result in imprisonment or worse, as these men know but somehow don’t explain.

As an Indonesian Christian I can perceive the struggles of Christian Palestinians. And there is one thing that should be boldly underline from what Bishop's said, that the division between Hamas and PA is taking Palestinian backwards. I guess this is the most important thing, but sadly it is ignored by the people of Palestine. And from my view.. Hamas with its ideology makes it clear that this is also a religious war. Denying that it's not about religion is also an ignorance. Also added by other historical complexities, Palestine hope is fading away. Even now more people blindly turn to support Hamas, and to me personally this has made me afraid. Because I believe Hamas is really pursuing to rule over the world into submission to Islam. This is what many Christians around the world concerning. I admire the bishop attitude regarding resistance. Christians must have the perserverance and be the light and the salt of this wrecked world.

There is little difference ethnically between Palestinians and ethnic Jews/Israelis. There are even Palestinians who are married to Israelis especially if they are Christian. It is only ideological differences that divides them.

Im so glad for this discussion and we need more of this type of discussions because Christians is part of this area, been called Palestine (Phila……) . The fact and historically it should not be an Islamic state , but for all kinds . The thought you must keep in mind is that Hamas is an extremist organisation and what Islam teaches , can one trust Hamas that they will allow Christians to be equal to Muslims and this goes for any other citizens. It’s a beautiful thing when people from all religions can live in peace in the same country. Jerusalem is one of the most important cities for those who follow Jesus. In most Islamic countries there were many Christians and over time find ways to drive out Christians and churches gets destroyed etc.
