Thanks for your time and compassion. I appreciate it further more as you dig deeper to spot Clark - Michigan wheel loaders, especially pre-C models.

I was surprised to see a Cummins, most of the ones in my area were all Detroit's, Great Video

From what I can remember, I don't think I've seen a Michigan that didn't have a Cummins in it. Thanks

Excellent documentary once again PA 👍👍👍 The old loader looks like it would still put in a shift as a backup...

Absolutely, it would just give the operator a work out haha. Thanks

I have two Clark Michigan 35AWS loaders and they’re smaller loaders but still built for mining work. They’re 60+ years old but when I had all four planetary hubs apart on one the gears, bearings, and races looked like they had just left the factory. They’re great machines and there will never be their likes built again.
@PAminingАй бұрын
That's amazing. They were good solid machines

Good old Benton Harbor Michigan machine. Clark had so many innovations to their name in heavy equipment. Especially transmissions and axles. Sucks they couldn’t survive the 80s recession.
@PAmining2 ай бұрын
I know they were very innovative and built strong equipment

The outfit that used to come in a crush our reclaim concrete for my grandfather had a 275C, that was a sweet machine, we had a Deere 644G and I ran circles around it but it had a big spade nose bucket and she was a digging beast in the rock and cement pile:)

Safety was an optional accessory in those days. My father ran a mill powered by a horizontal 2-stroke Crossley diesel engine. Open crankcase, open camshaft, no valve covers. Everyone just walked by, children too. And never an incident.

Yeah I have to say it reminded me of getting in and out of a box lol, definitely an interesting design. Thanks!

That's what I started on years ago 17 years old, always had one half flat tire on the front and zero brakes. Had to park your truck uphill at an angle or you were gonna run your truck over or flip the loader. We were always stoned back then too.

These are tough old loaders. I have one that I bought from the original owner who bought it brand new in 1971. I just put new batteries in it and repacked one of the steering cylinders a couple weeks ago.
