Richy, I've been a motorcycle guy for 22 years since rising my dad's 1987 VFR750 and then owning my first R6 at 18. I've had several bikes over the years and currently ride a 2009 Victory kingpin which I love. I rented a FJR1300 for my 40th this year and can't shake the sport tourer itch... Watching your channel and reminiscing about that bike, I'll be looking for a 6th Gen VFR800 this spring. Thanks for your videos and I'm a big fan of Larry fleet by the way! Cheers.

Hi Richy, I have watched your Arctic circle tour as well as your USA tour several times now as well as your european tours. Each time I watch them I pick up on something I missed before. I would love to see you and Egone do another big tour somewhere. How about Australia or New Zealand. That would be awesome. I suppose that would be a 2 to 3 month tour at least for Oz and possibly the same for New Zealand. Maybe that would just be a tour too far time wise and cost wise. Maybe , a return to the USA to visit the states you had to miss out on before because of weather or time constraints would be more viable. Anyway Richy, I always enjoy watching your videos.

Both you and your VFR have fine voices Richy. You still have the std suspension on your VFR as fitted from new? Also do you still have the Racing Puig screen on yours? Re: new battery. I presume Steve would have checked to see your reg/rec was still ok and this wasn't the cause of your previous battery prematurely failing, again? You need to upgrade the reg/rec to a Shindengen FH020 unit. They are only £50-60 on Ebay. Kev of Kev's shed has made a couple of very thorough YT videos of how you can do this. He has a silver lady just like yours. I have just put Michelin Road 5s on my silver lady. Couldn't quite stretch to the Road 6. Would like to see you do another Croatia tour. Like all your tours but that one for me is a favourite. Watched it a few times now as well as revisiting episodes of your US tour. Many thanks for Richyvida taking me places on his VFR and other bikes that I shall likely never visit.

Thank you Alex. Yep, all original stuff. Yes, Steve checked it all. Just putting it down to a dodgy battery. He did say that batteries of today are most definitely not what they used to be and would only really expect a good 2-3yrs out of one these days.

Enjoyed the vid but dont get why you went for GTs. The manufacturer prob knows a little more abiut tyres. Tyres are mean to spread to increase the contact patch. Extra rigidity without the extra weight means they wont. They wint be awful but the standard ones are better for solo riding on normal sized bikes. Even bigger bikes like my old Blackbird shouldnt have the GTs unless mainly used two up.
@RichyVida Жыл бұрын
Longevity, Scotty.
@scottyuk Жыл бұрын
Michelin claim the Road 6 has 10% better longevity than the PR5 but I don't see any claims for the GT getting even more. 🤔 I just asked an AI engine and here's the response. Personally I believe what the manufacturer says. "The disadvantage of using a Michelin Road 6 GT tire rather than a Michelin Road 6 tire on a medium weight motorbike is that the GT version is specifically designed for heavier motorcycles, typically touring or sport touring bikes. If you use the GT tire on a medium weight motorbike, which doesn't require the extra load-bearing capacity and stiffer construction of the GT version, you may experience certain drawbacks, such as: 1. Reduced handling and agility: The GT tire's stiffer construction may result in decreased maneuverability and a less nimble riding experience on a medium weight motorbike. 2. Reduced comfort: The GT tire's design prioritizes load-bearing capacity rather than comfort, so you may experience a firmer ride and potentially more vibration. 3. Increased wear and tear: As the GT tire is designed for heavier bikes, it may wear out more quickly when used on a medium weight motorbike, leading to shorter lifespan and increased maintenance costs. Therefore, it is generally recommended to choose the appropriate tire model for your specific motorbike to ensure optimal performance, handling, and safety."
