I love mine. I have a different model but pretty much the same. I usually put everything on 1 1/2 hours. I now use dryer sheets instead of fabric softener. It cut down drying time by 30 minutes. The liquid softener coats your clothes for those who dont know. My bath towels-4 at a time, are pretty thick and dry fine in 1 1/2 hours.

These dryers are amazing, mine is about 9 years old. Over time (maybe 4 or 6 years) the blower fan will become hard to turn. It will require grease on the brass bushing. The blower fan was not turning easily and had a little wear on the steel shaft/brass bushing bearing surface. It is not hard to disassemble and lube. Use a high quality grease, automotive type should work fine. Don't use oil or WD-40 because it won't last.

Wow, thanks for this update! I'm so glad I watched both of your reviews, so much valuable information, especially regarding the filters. Thank you so much for the video! I recently bought a different brand of compact dryer, and it is very similar in many ways. However, I decided to try the indoor vent kit because I don’t have a good place to vent it to a window yet. So, I decided to see how it goes with the vent kit for occasional use. I don’t let it sit right next to a wall or something. If I have the AC on, I’m sure it will suck some of the moisture away. However, even the instructions say to vent it outdoors as much as possible. I found out a trick to speed up the drying time of your clothes. After I wash a small load of clothes in the portable washer, which has a 800 RPM spin cycle, I give it an extra spin in a panda 3200 RPM spin dryer. Then, I put it in the compact dryer, and it cuts the drying time in half! I highly suggest you get one of the pandas 3200 RPM spin dryer. I’m going to do a video with it myself. It is the best thing to increase efficiency and lower drying time. In fact, before I got the portable washer and compact dryer, I was washing my clothes by hand and when I use the Panda spin dryer, I would hang my clothes up with a fan in the bathroom and they were dry in one hour. It’s amazing. I highly recommend it. It’s worth it. I hope it last many years, though. Thank you again for the video, because this magic chef compact dryer I have uses the exact style filter in the back of the drum and if I have a problem I’ll know what I can try to do to help it. It’s really important to clean it after every single load. Cheers!

Deanna Walsh , you’re supposed to vent any dryer outside not because of extra moisture, but because of tiny lint particles that escape through the vent and settle in the room. there’re a huge fire hazard, not to mention your health, since you’re breathing them in
@DeannaWalsh4 жыл бұрын
@@VacTech1 Yes it will spin larger items like towels and jeans. However, it’s best to put heaviest items on the bottom, lighter in the middle and a solid item ( like a towel) on the top, while filling the chamber al least 2/3 full. I had spinned-drained bath towels and a pretty heavy bath rug. I kind of put them in like a little bit at a time and curl it around so it will spin that way. But it’s really important to put in enough items to balance it. Don’t overfill it but make sure it is balanced. The instructions say to layer clothes in a folding manner. It also instructs to make sure it is full, if you can. I usually put a shirt or something on the bottom then the socks and other items and then larger items on top of that. Kind of a sandwich and I press around just to make sure everything seems evenly distributed by weight.

Thank you for this video! I used it for disassembly instructions for my Magic Chef 2.6 cu ft. dryer, which apparently uses all the same major parts and panels. I suspected that my blower belt had broken, and sure enough, it has! Thanks to you, I knew to look for and remove lint accumulations, which I will add to my annual maintenance schedule. Indeed, the two filters are important! But they're not catch-alls. Also thanks to your video, I confirmed that the felt collar at the back of the drum should be out all around: several inches of my unit's was tucked in (sucked in?) toward the drum in diametrically opposing areas, making it seem plausible that that's by design. It isn't! So if you have any advice about how to avoid that happening again, then I'd appreciate knowing it!

I came across it because I have this exact dryer, which is a beloved member of our household, and it suddenly made some terrible groaning/clacking noises today, then got very quiet, rotated a few more times then just stopped. I am scared, as we use this appliance almost every day! We opened up the back and saw that indeed the belt has broken so I Amazon Prime ordered a new belt for delivery tomorrow...we will do a thorough cleaning as well when we change it but TBH we have meticulously cleaned the filters the entire 4 years of owning this machine and even the exhaust vent didn't have too much lint. I'm hoping for the best but there aren't really any good videos on how to actually change the belt so I hope it's fairly intuitive. Thanks for this preview of what's inside!

Thank you, my 4 year old panda dryer has been having issues lately. When i turn it on it stays on for 2 - 3 minutes then it turns off. I click on the on button or any of the other buttons but nothing happens. After leaving it that way in 15- 20 minutes later it would turn on and go through the same thing over again. I replaced the filters and the main one was covered in lint. It has been 3 - 4 months since I replaced it and I use the dryer about 4 - 6 times per month. I then took the back cover off and there was lint covering the motherboard and floor. I cleaned it but I also saw that the belt was broken. I got two from ebay hopefully next week i will get them and replace it. I hope this will fix the dryer I don't want to spent another 250- 300 dollars. has this ever happened to anyone ?

Glad I came across this!! I have a similar dryer (different brand but almost exact same thing). I've had it for about 5 years and love it, but more and more often recently, the damn lint filter kept falling off during a cycle. Every 5 minutes or so until I got it secured in a sweet spot and it stayed on. It's been super annoying. However!! Your video brought to light the fact that I've had the filter installed wrong this entire time!! I swear when I got the dryer, the fabric (disposable / replaceable) filter was *inside* the two plastic pieces. The one I yours is exactly the same as the one in mine. Mine doesn't snap together the way yours does, but I'm wondering if it's supposed to. I just got out the manual for the dryer and sure enough, it seems to depict the order of installation the way you showed and not the way I've had it. The diagram is kinda unclear but looking at it the way you have it vs. how I had it your way makes more sense. I just popped it out (and vacuumed the filter - brilliant BTW, also hadn't even thought of that!), reinstalled it the *right* way and the next time I dry a load I'm hoping it'll not fall off again. Thanks so much for this!!

I didn't even realize they were missing until I watched enough videos! About 2 weeks ago my dryer just stopped dead with no warning, so I've been going down a rabbithole to figure it out. I now have the whole back off and I'm about to remove every shred of lint I see. I already see the rounded felt part is caked in lint, with more lint as I spin the wheel 😖 Edit: so I think I cleaned out all the lint I could access around the felt and in the plastic wheel, but when plugged in, it still does not turn on at all. @@71suns hey I was convinced I had to replace the thermal fuse. I replaced the belt and it's been solid a year later. I will say I contacted panda and they showed me via pics where the fuse was and sold me one even though one wasn't available on their website. They were a lot of help. Good luck!

@@fishface6247 Thank you so much for responding to my post. What is the contact information for Panda? I've tried several times with no luck. I have a Panda 2.6cu ft touch-pad dryer. I've spent uncountable hours researching scouring online trying to find solutions to the issue I'm experiencing. The touchpad is responding (or not) erratically... mostly not responding to touch. I AM SO FRUSTRATED. It sounds as though you actually were able to get in touch with Panda and were able to successfully fix your dryer. How did you reach them? Many thanks.

My plastic filter keeps falling off during drying. I compared my filter to yours and it looks similar but don’t understand why it doesn’t stay put. Any suggestions? I was looking for a new one but couldn’t find one for this dryer! Help!

I wonder if you could modify the plastic piece on the back by cutting the plastic grill out and then it would not clogged anymore and you don't have to use those filters
@VacTech12 жыл бұрын
You could, and it would help that one area, but the inside of the dryer will still build up with lint over time, where it shouldn't (like in the impeller, or the seal on the back of the drum). I would still recommend using the annoying filters regardless.

Outside of the clothes or lint trap, no. Does it rattle if you run it when empty? If it's bad or getting worse, I would contact Panda.

Did it make your dryer run super slow? I have a magic chef and it’s been 2 hours with two towels in they aren’t dry yet..
@had2galsinthebooth4 жыл бұрын
What temperature does the drum reach when set on high for an extended run? Can you measure it with an infrared thermometer? Maybe just open the door before it's done when it's warmest and point the thermometer at the clothes to get a reading. You could also measure the exhaust vent temp just out of curiousity. It might be good to know what's normal so you know when it isn't.

I know this was a while ago but what if the dryer is building condensation? Both of mine keep over heating and turns off mid cycle and it also leaks water but the clothes I spin at least 4 times to make sure they aren’t soaked when I put them to dry. I’m at a lost because I’m not sure if I should just buy a new one now.

@@bluexoxo1020 probably a blockage in the exhaust vent, back of the dryer, or the filters are clogged and need replaced. Sounds like they need cleaned out or it’ll get worse. I hope you can save it!

Hi! I need some help so I hope you see this. My Panda dryer stopped working, I had turned it off & lightly closed it for my husband to put close in once they finished. Then it would stay on for about 5 mins, not heat up and shut off. The heating element in the front gets VERY hot dunning this time. When I opened up the back of the dryer we saw that the "Blue" belt that goes to the bottom right wheel was snapped and just laying there. Would that cause these issues or is that different issue?

@@VacTech1 Update. I decided to open the back of my Panda dryer and not only follow the method you did by cleaning out certain area's of the machine, but I also placed 3-In-One Oil on both clear and black belts of the dryer. I'm doing 20 minute test run right now and sofar the screeching noise i heard before is gone. The one thing i notice is when i places oil on both belts the cycle started to slow down a bit. It's extremely hard to separate the lint trap from it's plastic housing on my panda dryer. DO you have any tip to make it easier? Thanks

Is it warped or something? I just use the grips in the middle, and it unclips from the lint filter assembly very easily. Is it under warranty? Maybe Panda could send you a replacement.

No, It’s brand new & they did send a replacement. The middle plastic core in the center is too big for the lint trap, but I guess it’s how they make them now. I’m that close to file it down but don’t want to ruin it. Any ideas?

Is it good for a family of 4, I mean the capacity how many pants and towels in a load?
@VacTech13 жыл бұрын
I would say 4 full size bath towels per load. 6-10 pairs of pants depending on the size, per load. It can dry a queen size comforter, but doesn't tumble around much. Comforters need to be pulled out and re-arranged mid-dry. I will say the capacity is surprisingly good for the size of the machine, but it's about half a typical dryer.
