I have purchased and used GUF. It definitely improves the appearance. After application when you run your handle over it does not feel oily or slick. However, when you actually have your heel on the mat it is somewhat slippery! My occupants did not like the slipperiness and thought it was somewhat dangerous when getting in and out of the car. I apply very lightly so that was not the issue. The only way to remove the slickness was to thoroughly wipe it down multiple times with all purpose cleaner. I no longer use it on floor mats.

I had the same case. It was slippery.

Same, I tried it on the mats of my personal vehicle before using it on my clients cars and it was definitely very slippery! A passenger of mine hurt herself trying to get out of the car. The difference is is I applied more than what’s shown in this video and used a brush to apply. I will continue to do testing with it and use an applicator to apply it, with less product, and wipe down with a microfiber afterwards.

GUF is slippery when on floor mats that aren’t entirely rubber. For example weather tech is high quality rubber. A lot of the generic no name brands or Amazon brands use a mix of plastic with the rubber and it ends up not absorbing fully into the mat, making it slippery even though you’ve knocked it down with a cloth.

I love GUF so much. In my opinion it’s as impressive as MP is on the engine bay. I’m very particular about mats/flooring and this is the only product I’ve found that does exactly what I want. I’ve tested it off-label on the exterior (step bars on trucks) but dust does stick to it, sadly. I mist directly on the mat and level with a detail factory curveball, super easy and works great. The odor is fairly mild, smells a bit like PSS. Don’t replace your old mats before you try GUF, it’s really that good 👍

I am soooooo tired right now.... just washed my car in the driveway. Spent 3 hours washing just the outside and wheels. In 97-degree weather.(yes, I know I'm not supposed to wash under the sun, but it cannot be helped) 😂 Rinsed the whole car with water, sprayed on a super thick layer of foam, riseed foam off. Second coat of foam and started washing. Since it was sunny, I washed one side at a time. For some reason, when I was done, it was already 3 hours later. I need to watch fewer Pan's videos. At this rate, it will take me 6 hours to wash my car next time. 😍 When the sun goes down and the temps go below 85, I will probably start with the waxing/polishing. This is better than going to the gym. I can burn off a lot more calories by washing my car.

Thanks for the kind words about my videos. Always nice to hear. I don't measure the durability of interior products. I have to draw the line at some point, I would die trying to measure the durability of everything known to man haha. I focus more on paint protection durability. For the interior, most products typically will give you a few weeks to a few months protection at best. Hence why it's recommended to maintain your vehicle's interior once a month or at least once every other month. If you apply a base layer of long lasting protection (like CarPro PERL dilute 1:5, or 303 Protectant, or DIY Detail Interior Ceramic) those should last a few months. All that will be left once every 3-4 weeks is to use an interior quick detailer to lightly clean smudges, light dirt and dust, and to boost the existing protection. That's when you'd use CarPro InnerQD, Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Mist Interior Detailer, DIY Interior Clean & Protect, Lithium Inner Space, Adam's Interior Detailer, etc).

After cleaning, need to use a non-oil and non-silicone base black rubber solvent to prevent foot slippage. Something like Chemical Guys Mat ReNew Rubber. Your Floor mats will always become marred with dirt and other things you take from the ground. Wear protective booties over your shoes, boots, or sneakers, remove them as you get into your vehicle. No more contaminates on your mats brought in from the outside of your vehicle. Winter time lay down a large used old bath towel. Change your footwear and place snow boots and the towel in a kitchen dish wash basin "dish tub". Keep your car mats clean for a very long time. Okay! purchase a second set of floor mats for your vehicle and store them until you have the desire to present your show-and-tell showroom vehicle with brand-new car floor mats. Once the show is over, remove and store the new mats in a sealed container to keep them new, and put your daily useful mats back on the car floor. Maintaining and Cleaning your vehicle is nice, but you will never be able to keep it in Factory condition coming off of the production assembly line. Deterioration, Corrosion, and Contaminants will occur by force of nature and the almighty above as nothing lasts forever. If you don't use it, you'll lose it! Going overboard is a waste of time and money. Just keep the floor mats clean as they don't have to look pretty. Question? Do you look down at your feet all day? If so, people will probably wonder if you have a problem. The purpose of a floor mat is to protect the carpet.

Always a pleasure to help my viewers. I'm the only big detailing channel that replies to viewers on a daily basis on KZbin. I take great pride in that. After using WetCoat, you can just blow dry the car. 100% contactless way of my drying. First time I used a sprayer. Second time I used a microfiber applicator to better control the amount of product. It was slippery both ways. The buffer worked, but probably removed most of the product (even though was not part of the instructions). It did LOOK good though. The mats are BMW factory. I did not dilute the product as the instructions did not call for it. The degree of slipperiness is noticeable. When my wife and I got in the car this morning the first thing she said was: "This is dangerous." I have since washed the mats thoroughly and the problem is gone, but there is no way I would recommend this product. And that's from a guy who highly recommends most of the products you prefer. Indeed, I use three other Koch Chemie products: Gsf, Gs and Mp. Not related: I have tended to favor the CarPro products you like. By the way, I enjoy your channel immensely.@@PanTheOrganizer

Thanks for the great vid, Pan. Good info as always. You cost me money every time I watch!! :) Quick question. I want to buy a mini blower/dryer and comparing the Metrovac to the Adams Mini. The Adams has a 20 ft cord, more amps/watts, and feet per minute. Is there a quality issue you are aware of that should lead me back to the Metro? Thanks!
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
I haven't tested the Adam's. But as they don't make their own equipment, they outsource the work. So there's a high likelihood of brands like MetroVac making their blowers anyways hehe. Who knows.

Est-ce qu'on obtient le même résultat avec le McKee's 37 Floor Mat & Cargo liner?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын

Many people use drill brushes for the rubber mats, as it's quicker, but make sure to select a soft one. Like this: amzn.to/3DBfSlR

Great video, Pan. On another subject, do you have a video or guidance on restoring faded black side window strips? Ty
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
I don't at this moment. You can start by cleaning them with an APC and magic eraser first (test on an inconspicuous area first!). If your window strips are in plastic, you can use a trim restorer like this: amzn.to/3Q0SF3S If they're in rubber, you can use this: amzn.to/43w02mT If they're in good condition and you just want to lightly restore them and especially protect them, this is what I like: amzn.to/3XZ62Uf

for the greenstar or p&s brake buster, any difference if using dilute bottle or foam sprayer?
@PanTheOrganizer8 ай бұрын
Greenstar is a concentrate so you have no choice to dilute it according to your use (instructions on the label). Brake Buster can be used as is straight from the spray bottle it comes it for max power, or diluted up to 1:3 in a foaming pump sprayer. It still works well when diluted, perhaps not as strong as undiluted for obvious reasons, but you get more for your money.

Hi Pan… I have an unrelated question, I park my car under a tree a found sap on the hood of my 2021 XC-40 Volvo, I used Koch chemie green star to remove at 5-1, with a kitchen sponge which seem to put what I believe to be light scratches on the surface, I started off with rupes fine finishing compound with a yellow wool pad, didn’t come out , then went to a rupes blue wool pad with sonax perfect finish 6-4, still didn’t come out, I used my fingernail to make sure the scratches aren’t thru the clear coat which THEIR NOT. What would be my next step to try and remove these scratches? I have flat black paint , my pressure on the machine was light on the 1 st try, on 2 nd try I used about 10 lbs of pressure, don’t want to burned thru the paint. Thank you for any advice, know it’s difficult not see the vehicle, I’ve never had problems before removing scratches but never had sap either. Ken
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Using an APC isn't the appropriate way to remove tree sap. You need to first wash the car, dry it, and then use a proper tree sap remover, like this: bit.ly/3pvgmXj You would spray that on the clean surface, let it dwell, and then wipe with a microfiber towel. Multiple applications might be needed depending on how thick the sap is, or how stubborn it is to remove. Do not work in direct sunlight, don't let the product dry on the surface, and work on a cool surface. Once the sap is removed, then you can use a compound and polish to perfect the paint to remove the scratches you induced on your previous attempt to remove the tree sap. I will have a full tree sap removal tutorial coming later this month. Stay tuned.

I have seen in another video where you cleaned rubber floor mats using McKee’s 37 Rejuvenator and 303 Protectant or Lithium Inner Space. Would it be problematic or overkill to use those along with Guf? I don’t think Guf has any UV protection in the formulation, so it seems that spraying 303 or Inner Space after applying Guf would be the ultimate combination of finish and protection. Your thoughts?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
That would be too many products. I wouldn’t worry about UV protection for floor mats as they sit on the bottom and the sun rarely goes that far.
