I’ve been using N-914 for a while now, and it saves time and my cars look great and I have not seen any trace of scratching. It allows me to wash my cars anytime, in hot AZ summers I was relegated to 5AM washes or 7PM because of intense sun and heat insta-drying the car and leaving spots, now I can just do it in the garage whenever.

Really enjoyed this one, guys! I’m a weekend warrior with young kids and a chaotic schedule and even though I’d love to detail my car twice weekly like Pan, I just run out of time and end up doing it at 10p. This seems like an awesome option for those times when it’s late, you don’t want to wake up the neighbors, and you just need a maintenance wash. Appreciate you covering a diversity of techniques and when and how they may be helpful vs being just set on “this is the one right way to do things”. I’ll have to give this a try!

Always great to see you guys doing a collaboration video. DIY detail and your channel are my go-to detail channels. Apartment dweller here, so rinseless wash is my only solution to wash my car and the family car. So far it's working great! For drying, I also add some sprays of rinseless wash @ QD dilution to the panels for extra lubrication, and dry the windows first to get my drying towel damp with some rinseless before moving to the body panels.

Pan and Yvan are by far my favorite detailers because of their deep knowledge. I like Yvan’s myth busting ability as well. I also like the forensic detailing channel for his thorough testing. I’m a big fan of DIY Detail’s rinseless wash. Yvan has saved me a lot of money. I’m extremely picky about marring and scratches and I would use few other rinseless washes. Good job guys!! Another tip I’d offer for rinseless users is dry with a thick towel folded in twos or fours. This helps prevents scratching. I like to use the Rag Company Gauntlet towel folded in fours for drying. Then I finish it up with a detail spray and do a final wipe/inspection. Just a bonus step cause I’m picky. I’ll use either Titan or Beadmaker as a finisher/topper.

I actually purchased this exact bottle of rinseless wash and I'll be brutally honest every time I reach for it I'm never entirely sure how to use it. I wholeheartedly acknowledged that I'm probably doing it wrong but I'm not giving up on it yet

Pan I love your channel. My two favorite approaches to detailing met in one video. I like your meticulous approach, and Yvan’s for its simplicity. I’ve never used rinseless wash for it’s intended purpose. I drive long miles and my car sitting outside long time with bug guts on it. So I I just think it's too dirty for this kind of stuff. Maybe I’m wrong. I use it for interior cleaning the most, as exterior or interior detailer, or clay lubricant. Recently I bought DIY rinseless, and it’s amazing for its cleaning power, it’s unbelievable, I didn’t expect that. I’m a truck driver, and I have my windshield coated. I’ve just found out that for this type of situation when I’m washing my windshield every day or even more DIY rinseless works fantastic, FANTASTIC!!! It’s washing those bugs like APC. AND NO Greasy after. I just simply spray on windshield let it do it’s job and agitating with whatever “washing media” they have at truck stop. Yes not the best smell in my opinion, it’s smells like cleaner (and it is a cleaner, so Yvan, don’t take too seriously, it just might be possible to improve in the future) not too pleasant for example if I compare it to COCONUT one😃😉 that one is just like you applying a lotion. So I like to keep both. And further that red decontamination towel😊, OMG it’s amazing. I clay my car so fast. And also it’s fantastic against insect marks, they’re not washing off every time with just a soap or APC.

I had no choice but to do a rinseless wash this Summer because of a hosepipe ban, here in South West England. I was a little sceptical about the method. Obviously concerned about marring the paint. I had also read, on an on-line forum, that a rinseless wash was a no-no with a ceramic coated vehicle! However, Pan, in another of your videos, you put my mind at rest and said it would not mar the paint or the ceramic coating. You were right, it doesn't! Not only that, but rinseless washing is great. It is so simple, so straight-forward, and so easy to do. I have even been sold on using sponges. I now have the BRS, the UBS and the BGS (I just need to get the Legacy Sponge to make the full set). So for any sceptics reading this: try it, because it is quick (if your time is at a premium) and it is fun.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
That's correct. If used properly, and common sense is applied, a rinseless wash is a safe alternative wash method, and it's also totally safe on a ceramic coated vehicle.

If I wanted to use a rinseless wash as a drying aid, how does it incorporate (or DOES is?) with a topper like Gyeon Wetcoat? Would it be Pre-Treat>Rinse>Foam>Contact Wash>Rinse>Gyeon Wet Coat>Rinseless Wash>Towel Dry? Or does Gyeon Wetcoat negate the need for a drying aid such that I would only use a drying aid when I wasn't topping of the protection? I wouldn't want to negate the benefits of the topper (Wetcoat) either. Thanks!

Another outstanding video and rinseless wash is him! I use rinseless to wash cars, clean the floors, and clean the rest of the house. In my experience the biggest difference between rinseless wash and a foam cannon soap is cleaning those hard to reach channels in the car. Areas like above the rear hinge on an suv which collects leaves or the front windshield which collects dirt. These areas are easier to clean out with a pressure washer but they can be cleaned with rinseless too. You just have to presoak the area and clean with a detail brush and some apc. Then you have to flush the area out with a hose or rinseless wash under pressure. This could be a good how to video? Thank you for another excellent video as always!

I always use the traditional wash method as I have a great setup in my garage, plus DI water, so that's what I like best. But for someone with a more limited access to water, or a garage too small that has to worry about water splashing all over, then yes the rinseless wash method is a great alternative in my opinion. As long as you use the method while applying common sense. If the car is caked in a thick layer of mud, you want to pre-rinse first, then do the rinseless wash for obvious reasons.

Hmmm. I never had issues. What rinseless wash were you using? Also, common sense is needed with a rinseless wash method. If the car is super dirty, you should pre-rinse it first. A rinseless wash doesn't mean you never rinse, it just means you don't have to rinse at the end of the wash process.

I won’t trust a rinseless wash until I see Pan do it on his own Porsche!

I prefer the bucket wash method as you should know. But for your entertainment, here’s a video where we did do a rinseless wash method on my Porsche: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2rTh5qghquYZ7csi=3DtKPP-XP8E7-xKX But that has nothing to do with the bigger picture. There isn’t just one way to properly wash a car. And not everyone had access to a pressure washer or water to wash their car, so a rinseless wash is a very safe alternative when you use common sense and good technique. Case in point, see my rinseless wash tutorial and you’ll see in the comments just how many swear by that method and get great results. Pick a method that suits you, and enjoy.

Flipping love Yvan 🙌 especially with Pan, I hope we get to see more videos with both of you more often!!!. I'm using P&S Absolute currently. I've completely cocked up the conversion from US imperial to Metric (Come on P&S, loads get exported to Metric countries, lets get the metric scale addedto the label) so trying to work out the ratios for QD and Clay ratios has been hard. Arithmetic and conversion ratios have not been my thing since school....I've mixed it 1:10 which is completely overkill by multiplication of 100 but there is absolutely no way my paintwork is getting marred with the same ratios I've used with Capro ECH20. Funnily enough, I was looking into this last night and the equivalent is 45ml per 11 ltrs of water ish and then adjust for QD and Clay ratios I think it's double the amount of Absolute for QD and again for Clay. Metric is an easy scale to use, anyway let's not debate that on here- P&S needs to add this to their labelling. I've not used DIY detailing waterless wash yet. Do you guys have an easy to read Metric scale to use? 🤞

Simple. Just get a four pint bottle of milk from your supermarket and (after you've used the milk!) fill it up with water (4 pints = 1/2 a gallon) and pour it into your wash bucket. Do this twice and you have a gallon in your wash bucket. Use a permanent marker and mark the outside of the bucket with a "1". Keep doing this until you've marked out 4 gallons on your bucket. 1 capful of rinseless to 1 gallon of water. It works for both quick detailing and claying.

Thanks for the question, no unfortunately not, we do have instructions on the website though. For the DIY Detail Rinseless Wash the dilution ratio used for everything is 4ml per litre.
@79blustone Жыл бұрын
@@johnough4893 Thank for the advice. Its about 45ml of waterless wash for 11ltrs which is the basic mix for cleaning. The ratios are double the solution for QD and double again for Clay lube I believe. Its a struggle to get a grasp of a different way of measuring things when a scale that uses 0 to 100 is soo much simpler. I've only ever known decimalisation as it all changed here in the UK back in the late 1970s. I don't know how the Yanks do it. I think I've worked it out now. Perhaps the label should have a scale to work from.
@79blustone Жыл бұрын
@@diydetailofficial It would be pretty cool if at some point the labelling could be changed or have an extra peel label under the top label to include the Metric system measurements AND to include different dilutions for different purposes that your product can do- I think that would be pretty cool. Also see if you can get your Website updated to include Metric scale measurements not just for waterless washing but QD/ Clay and other useful things it can clean. The more information available makes a product more accessible and easier to use allow more people to have confidence in what they are doing. 😊

@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Here's my favourite bug remover: bit.ly/3rxk57R You pre-spray the surface, let it dwell (never work in direct sunlight), and rinse. Then continue with your normal wash process. The bug remover should soften the bug guts enough to make washing super easy.

So, I'm a little confused. Can you rinseless wash a vehicle in replacement to a maintenance wash (Every two weeks or so)? This would be a great solution for me so I don't have to luge out the pressure washer and all my tools just to get a quick clean to my truck.

Nice presentation! I do wonder if a higher concentration of rinse-less wash in the pretreatment spray (say, half a capful to a 1 liter sprayer) might provide better protection for the initial wash phase?

Polymers interact with dirt and other substances through van der Waals forces, hydrogen bonding, or other intermolecular forces. They bond to contaminants and allow them to be wiped away without scratching IF you use enough of it between your sponge and paint, have a clean sponge and don’t use heavy pressure. You are kinda trying to wipe the dirt away which is now bonded with the acrylic and synthetic polymers from the pre-treatment. The cleaning capability is limited though, so it’s for highly maintained paint. Solvents and surfactants in this hybrid product allow conventional micelles to form with dirt/oils so they can also be wiped/rinsed away…probably different contaminants that will not bond to the polymers. Previous rinseless washes with only polymers will not remove everything, but the hybrid mixture is very interesting, especially with the pre-treatment, as it should have the ability to remove many more contaminates from the paint. I’ll give it a try as an “in-between” option for keeping my vehicles looking good between regular washes. Btw, foam is not necessary to clean. It looks great and I use & love it, but it doesn’t help in actual cleaning. Maybe lubricity is improved, but cleaning is not. From brushing your teeth to washing your car, compounds are added to create foam to sell more products. It’s been a psychological marketing trick for decades. Regardless this hybrid product could work depending on the solvents used in it. It’s not going to degrease or remove bugs well, but it should get your paint clean quickly and safely if it’s dusty and not covered in mud, etc. And you use the products correctly.
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
Thank you, and once you try DIY Detail Rinseless Wash, you will see it has the same cleaning capability as soap. It’s not just for in between other washes, for many it’s the only way they wash.

Okay, so I don't have access to DI water. I think I understand that I could use my pressure washer and foam cannon to wash my really dirty car then I could use a 5 gallon bucket with the rinseless wash to rinse and towel dry so I don't have to worry about water spots?
@PanTheOrganizer3 ай бұрын
Even if you don't have DI water, and still want to use the rinseless wash method, no problem. The rinseless wash encapsulates the minerals in the water, so you're fine. As long as you don't work in direct sunlight or on hot panels. Work in the shade or in a garage, on cool panels. See my newest video on a rinseless wash with a dirty car: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJSwm6yGlJWdfs0si=-mS9ult0vFbAiFpJ For anything dirtier than that, you'd want to start with pre-rinsing the vehicle first, or using a snow foam, then rinse then do the rinseless wash.

I personally prefer the traditional 2 bucket wash method, as you well know, but I have used rinseless washes on my own 911 Turbo S with zero issues. If you use common sense with rinseless washes, they are totally safe. If the car is super dirty, you'd obviously pre-rinse it first. A rinseless wash doesn't mean you never rinse, it just means no rinsing is needed at the end of the wash process. In this video, you can even see Yvan using the rinseless wash on my 911 Turbo S: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2rTh5qghquYZ7csi=i9F-PkN-oIJ50Oqa&t=708
