I love your pantry but even more than that I love the way you did this video you didn't stand in front of the things. People could see things because you were behind the camera as you should be.You showed your pantry & you showed your organizational skills without blocking people's view or panning willy-nilly all over the place and I for one really appreciate that. I don't watch these videos to listen to somebody else's choice of music or watch them clean. I watch them to learn new ideas of how to Get things to work in my pantry. So thank you for your professionalism it really came across no screaming kids in the background, no barking dogs.It was great you did a great job. The lighting was good & everything was perfect. You are the consummate professional. Truly a joy to watch and I learned so much.I am a new subscriber And I rang the bell

Why would people make fun of your pantry. It’s serious goals. It looks so beautiful! Another reason to label even when containers are see through is that when the container is empty you and other household members know where to replace those things. Loved the video!

People only make fun of what they do not understand. Or because they are envious of what you have. I’m so happy that you don’t worry about those opinions. Your pantry is a thing of beauty, but even more important, it’s what makes your entire life easier.

If you will lay your canned goods on their sides - label side up - it'll be easier to see what's what without having to spin, lift, or even touch each can. You might even be able to fit more cans in each bin. As mentioned elsewhere in these comments, anyone who would make fun of your pantry is surely doing it out of jealousy. You have done a very nice job. It is neat, organized, and as you've said, it works for you. Somehow, I doubt if their pantries even come close in comparison. That's usually how it works. 😉

I'm a point of use organizer, I keep my oils in the same cupboard as my frying pans, my dry goods (in matching containers) in a full extension pull out shelf close to my stove, all my canned items in the pantry on risers so I can see everything I have at a glance, my spices are in a drawer next to the stove, my paper items are on the top shelf in my pantry, etc. I don't put items in plastic organizers, because for me out of sight is as good as lost. I have to say your pantry makes my heart soar because I'm all OCD about everything looking beautiful while also being user friendly.

@@MelissaHuenergardt Macadamian Nuts- I saw that you stock up on these. I was recently watching Netflix's Queer Eye & the gentleman who does alot of the cooking tutorials used COURSELY GROUND MACADAMIAN NUTS as a healthy alternative coating for homemade oven-fried fish sticks & chicken nuggets for children (versus the over processed high fat ready made frozen freezer versions). I thought of you & just had to pop on to tell you about it. I noticed your pantry shows an obvious effort to incorporate healthy ingredients. You are doing a wonderful & exceptional job of homemaking. I do hope the fun that you mentioned people making of you is out of admirational gest & they aren't missing out on the inspirational & educational lessons to be learned from the examples you are sharing. I love how organized you are!!! I am the same. I, too, love to label things. Besides labeling my containers, my shelves have labels on the front edges- helps my family to know where things are and where they go- but mostly just makes me happy :) I do like your bins but have to say I would have a hard time not knowing how full or not they were just at a glance. My containers are either clear or partially transparent in some way. I, also, love having a lazy susan here and there.

I love how you have defined your categories. You defined “enough space” for each category and then got your containers. I’m sure that helped to know what would serve you well! I try to do a similar thing, but extra low cost. I use empty cereal boxes with labels 🏷 on them. I also like having quality zipped bags to help see what I have. I find areas of my home that I do have organized really move and stay organized well. That really helps whith moves! It’s said that home can be a bit like Heaven on Earth 🌎. This definitely qualifies as that! Peaceful, orderly, serves everyone well, tidy, clean, reaches its potential very well, nicely painted, meals planned, ongoing shopping 🛒 list with writing ✍🏾 supplies where they’re needed, thoughtful labels for sticky (etc) fingers, a stepping stool that’s just right for you and maximizing unusual storage well too! Thanks for all the steps you’ve taken to be prepared to share this with us!

When we were house shopping, we found exactly one house with a walk in pantry 😂. Unfortunately, the rest of the house didn’t live up to the walk in pantry, so we are moving into another home with only pantry cabinets (first world problems 😂). Still, I hope to keep them organized!

Also have a skinny 4 shelf cabinet from goodwill for $10 for all my mason jars that were on the top of frig. Yay organized

I try to keep at least one extra of all of the condiments, salad dressings, salsa etc. in our pantry. When the last one gets used, it goes on the grocery list to replenish. I kinda got a chuckle when I noticed that all of your husbands items are at the bottom. I love your pantry except for the blender blades being in easy to reach for any little kids that may come over. I keep all of my blades in a container in an upper cabinet. Just an idea.
@MelissaHuenergardt5 жыл бұрын
There was a stage in my life where that would have mattered, however, we are in a season of life where our kids are old enough and their friends are old enough to know not to grab a blade. If we ever have people here with littles we just shut the pantry door all together.

Any tips on how to organize a cabinet being used as a pantry? The cabinet looks small on the outside but looks bigger insode cause it goes deep on the left- meaning it's like one big cabinet with no walls separating it into smaller cabinets and things can be a bit hard to reach, mainly for me cause im a shorty with short arms lol the other issue is keeping it organized where it stays clean and my Dad is able to find what he needs/wants without trouble and leaving a mess behind. We also use the cabinet that's above our microwave as a mini pantry where my Dad keeps his coffee stuff as well as bars- like fiber one bars, cereal bars, nature valley bars etc, and Mio- flavored water enhancing drops. We live in an apartment and the kitchen is one of the two biggest rooms, but with limited space. I need to get in there and clean out the cabinets and organize them, but having small cabinets other than the big one we use as a pantry, and the even bigger cabinet under our sink, im not sure where to start in organizing them. Oh, our dog has her own cabinet where her treats, travel bowls, regular dog bowls, & dog nail clippers are kept- we keep her food on the counter right above said cabinet cause it's easier for my Dad to see it and get to it to feed her breakfast in the mornings. We keep boxes of ziploc bags in the cabinet above the stove as well as some tupperware and a plastic pasta strainer, we use the cabinet to the right of it for our dishes and glasses and water bottles, we use the cabinet to the left of one above the stove for our spices and sauces that we get from fast food places as well as regular spices, and the only cabinet not being used is the one above the sink only because i can't reach it- my Dad can, but we chose not to use it due to it being inconvenient and being hard for me to reach without his help or the help of a step ladder and also having to climb on the counter. It's been empty since we moved in. Oh, and we have a cabinet that's below the one we use for dishes that we also use for a crock pot or rice cooker, can't remember which, a hand mixer, our other tupperware, and a knife sharpener I think. Help? lol Sorry for such a long comment.

Do tou think a mini Island cabinet would fit in the middle of your pantry, or a rolling cart that you can move out of the way when looking for items you need. The purpose of it would be to bring your bowl in there so you can drop your ingredients, put everything back, and then just take your bowl back to your kitchen

Buuuut, alot of single use/disposable plastics in the spare dresser in the extra nook (wow, so cool in there!!) and the plastic straws and baggies that are pre-portioned. You could switch to mini storage bowls w/lids that are washable and re-useable instead, just an idea. Also, did you know that every plastic straw ever made still exists? They are not recyclable except only at Subaru dealers, which now take them. Please please please switch to metal or bamboo straws that are washable and re-useable.

Wishful thinking, that's a good idea if you have the extra room for more bins, if not you could always keep just one extra bin to use when you're getting ready to make or put together your breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, whatever, whenever you have a number of things you'll need to bring into the kitchen to prepare. Save yourself from making more trips back and forth than you need to. 😊 I think I'm in love with her pantry and organizing skills! ❤️😂❤️

@@MelissaHuenergardt I just found your videos and Omgosh! No doubt I'm definitely in love with your pantry and organizing skills! ❤️😂❤️ I'd love to have a large pantry like yours, it's awesome! After we'd been in our house for a few years I realized that our little entryway closet only had the vacuum, two or three jackets, and a small stack of games up on the shelves in it and thought, what a waste of space! I went straight to HD and bought some of the white melamine (I hope that's what it's called.🤔) and made a few shelves. Turned that small closet into a nice little pantry which has been perfect for storing some of the extra kitchen items. It's now a way better use of that closet space. Oh and it's only feet away from the kitchen. Well the last few months sure have been pretty unbelievable, so I hope that you and your loved ones are all well and safe at home, take care now and keep up the good work! 😊

Jennifer, I tend to only buy what I need to fill the containers. As for my sugar and flour, my jars hold the amount that comes in the sack. When I purchased my containers I made sure that they were large enough to hold the contents of a package of this or that. I hope this is helpful.

Or, in deep and long lidded bins under the bed to keep stock free of dust. Store items from bulk shopping and supplies you rarely use in these remote locations.

You're the Mistress of your own homeif at the end of the day it makes you feel good to walk into that pantry and total organization, the fact that your children are able to put away groceries teaching them a valuable lifeand as you say God forbid if something happened anyone get into your home and cook for your family at a time of need or crissis . That pantry shows me heard work well and thought out placement of items. Only jealous lazypeople would make fun of such a beautiful pantry and considerate hostess as you said anyone could enter your home and at a glance find what is needed. My real question is what dose there kitchen and or life look like .is it we'll run and thought out planning for contingencies or is it total chaos and STRESSED !!!?
