Dear John (& Hank (& Everybody Else)), I can still remember the day that I heard about this popular author named John Green, & how he had written this great newish book called Paper Towns & how he had written this great newer book called The Fault In Our Stars, & how he also had a KZbin show with his brother. And how. Now, here I sit four years later, watching dreams & people & ideas & the universe collect into something I never quite understood could happen. This journey, from finding someone in a false place to finding yourself in a truer place, has gone beyond all expectations & all our wildest dreams. I've been to the paper towns. I'm still not sure that I want to leave. Thank you so much. So Long & Thanks For All the Fish, Lawrence Calablaster

I just saw Paper Towns today (like...a couple hours ago). The movie was absolutely amazing, but it wasn't really the movie that was the best part of my night. I saw it with a couple friends and after the movie ended we talked about what would happen after we graduated and what our lives might be like. And I think I realized today how amazing all my friends are and how lucky I am to have them. As for the movie compared to the book (which I usually do after seeing a movie based on a book), I don't really want to compare them. Usually after seeing a movie I decide which one I thought was better, movie or book. But with Paper Towns, the stories were both different (although still the same) and the experiences I had reading the book and seeing the movie were much different. I think both were amazing and thought provoking and neither one is better or worse than the other, only different.

Usually when I come across celebrity videos, I can't help but get a little jealous - travelling to amazing places, people asking for autographs, giving interviews and what not. But with John and Hank, things feel so strange - as if the girls in the crowd are not some chicks you want to have sex with, but rather just some awesome people of a huge, huge family who haven't gotten to meet each other yet. And I think this is because of the personal vlogs they put up - it just makes them more human - and an awesome one while at it - so you know that these guys truly are like all of us. This inspires me. I am not a social person. But #nerdfigheria is perhaps the one community I aspire to be a part of! :)

I hope it doesn't come out at all paper towns sucked a lot most of the critics have it bad reviews and he'll even a large chunk of the fans were dissapointed I have no faith in this next one so I think it's better if they just don't make it.or maybe john can be less self centered and stay home since he had nothing g to do with making the movie. I mean did Suzanne Collins go around the world promoting the hunger games movie? To my knowage no. Ease correct me if I'm wrong but seriously john needs to stay home it's selfish and asshole looking for him to go.
@madeleineluna26129 жыл бұрын
L. T C. Considering the film is based on his intellectual content, it seems a little silly to deride him for supporting it. Also, John Green is a representative of more than just his books and his participation in the marketing does have a direct connection to revenue. Suzanne Collins may not have traveled to promote The Hunger Games, but consider how active Jo Rowling was in the promotion of the Harry Potter films. Every author has their own style and personality and way of reacting to the interpretation of their written work into cinematic enterprise. If we say authors have no place in the process or in the promotion of the material that comes from their creative endeavors, we are heading down a very slippery slope.

watching this in a theater filled with Nerdfighters and others who care about John's books was something new. I thought about those early years of Vlogbrothers when I watched the videos alone and felt pretty isolated from the Nerdfighter community, and suddenly the Event of the Paper Towns movie seemed too big for me to grasp. But then I was mostly able to dissolve into the togetherness of the movie-watching and leave the thinking and nostalgia for later. Congrats on a great and hilarious movie, John! Loved Ben's "cousin's party" conversation and the gas station cameo :)

Paper Towns is one of my favorite books and i liked the movie! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, which is basically the number one way to judge a movie. It most definitely was not anywhere as deep as the book. I think i might have glimpsed John's cameo but i blinked and missed half of it. Cara and Nat are great actors. Part of the movie was shot in my friend's neighborhood and he didn't even know it until the movie started and he shouted "THAT'S MY NEIGHBORHOOD" in the middle of the theater. (when it got the the scene with the dead guy he again shouted "I GO FISHING THERE!!!") which made things quite entertaining
