It really feels like the world is alive and realistic. I love how you can still hear the ambient noise inside but it's muffled and you can hear your fan and fridge. You guys are truly thinking of everything. I can't wait for early access next year!

​@@Anndreya05 At present, Paralives has no plans to release a beta or anything like that. The Early Access phase will be for everyone at the same time on Steam (you can already wishlist the game, if you haven't yet of course). I don't know what they plan to do for KZbinrs/streamers specifically but I doubt they'll get preferential treatment in that department ; they might however get promotional material early (this is what happened for the gameplay trailer earlier this year, I believe : the Paralives team sent a package of videos/screenshots to a few KZbinrs a few days before the actual premiere). I think we'll all have to discover the game together at the same time... and it's probably a good thing :)

Sounds a lot like real background noise. The noisy refrigerator caused a storm of emotions in me. Ideally, certain soundtracks would fade in and out depending on the context: During the week, residential areas are quiet, and on the weekends, neighbors mow the grass and their children play in their backyards. Accordingly, in the city, it's the other way around - on weekdays, there are plenty of people, traffic noise, and on holidays and weekends, downtown is silent; Cicadas chirp in the summer. Snow crunches underfoot and a blizzard howls in the winter. Cats scream and fight in the spring; Frogs croak near the stream at night. Flocks of crows caw over the fields during the day. Just like the roosters in the farm areas, seagulls and the sound of the ocean can be heard in the coastal areas. In the houses near the park, you can hear the rustling of deciduous trees and the creaking of old pines in the wind.

A little variation in the bird sounds (with some obviously closer or further away) would be amazing; other than that, the sounds are really bringing the world to life! Also, even if there are no chickens in the game (perhaps in the future?), I really love hearing that rooster's crow in the early hours and thinking "I guess someone must have backyard chickens!" :)

Some of my favorite memories with Sims 3 come from the little things that you can hear when your Sims are just relaxing and the music isn't playing, things like the idle hum of electronics such as the fridge and such are a huge part of that too. Interior ambience is just as important as exterior, and I'm glad that's being thought of as well.

I hope the sounds match the landscape too. You won't realistically hear a rooster in the suburbs or city, but more so in the country/farm area. That area doesn't look secluded enough for that specific animal.

You would be surprised! I live in appalachia and a lot of people are homesteaders, so they have chickens, roosters, ducks, etc. You can also have places like this that 5 mins out have whole farms! But I imagine that they will have changes in soundscape based on location :P

Jesus Christ if you just told me I would be excited over the buzz of a fridge in a videogame, I wouldn't believe you, but look where we are. I genuinely love this. So far the atmosphere feels so lively but at the same time, so laid-back... nothing too loud, crazy or goofy, just... normal. It feels natural. I never knew mundane things like a buzzing fridge or a fan's whirling could be so pleasing in a video game. I really really hope you guys keep up the amazing work. I just want an asmr live of this 24 / 7 😊 also distant trains. I grew up in a tiny lake side village that had carrier trains and 2 passenger trains come through. During the night id leave my window open a bit to hear it, especially during stormy nights. I miss those sounds.

I wonder if different regions will have different ambient sounds. Like waves on a beach area, sharper winds on mountains, running water if close to a river. And if the interior sounds will differ as well. I assume there will be no fridge noise if there isn't a fridge, and it would be cool to make it so we can add an upgrade to make it less noisy. Overall my excitement grows with each new video, can't wait to be playing this!
