The conversations teachers have with "good student's" parents. Sometimes those conversations make my job so great.

Reminds me of the parent I once had that said she was a very involved parent who frequently checked the website where grades were updated by me on a daily basis, yet had had no idea that her kid had been failing my class since about week 2 of school.

Oh, yeah. Your child has a D on his report card and says he doesn't understand the material, but you say he did not want to go to school that day. So you let him stay home. Classic.

I've had at least two versions of this parent every single year of my teaching career. For all the non-teachers watching this, let me assure you: this isn't an exaggeration in any way; if anything, this kind of parent is even more clueless, aggressive, and frustrating than shown here!

A few years ago, the parent of our worst behaved student said, "The students at your school are out of control."

@jennytheohsoshyone25 I'm fairly certain that if all the students/parents who didn't feel the need for school could stay home and do their classes online, it would solve about 70% of the problems in American education :/

Are we all working in the same building? It's both hilarious and frightening that we are all having the same experience.

@LACKNY Part of the problem is that we are not public servants, we are professionals. Many of us have as much college as lawyers, nurses, some docs, but evidently that doesn't matter. Others countries already get this. Trying to change the perception, not being crappy about ur post. ;)

@eyeswideopen1993 What I particularly enjoy in your comment is that you make similarly broad assumptions, and appear to be laboring under the same delusion as you accuse teachers of being under. Yes, there are bad teachers out there, but more prevalent these days are poor parents who are extremely defensive of THEIR child's rights, but don't seem to care about the rights of anyone else in the school -- to education without disruption or violence -- nor are cognizant of mutual responsibility.

@whydoicare222 lol of course not. Its all about PR. The parent is always right. The teacher is always wrong and everything is the teachers fault.

How do you keep this job longer than two weeks without choke slamming these parents and their kids? It appears the parents care less than the students. Jobs dealing with the public never pay enough.

@eyeswideopen1993 people like you should try to go and get into the education field. Oh wait, you probably can't; therefore, you can't comment on teachers because you have never been in their position

This video demonstrates the snooty, elitist mindset of teachers. They make broad assumptions about parents. They labor under the delusion that they are the most intelligent, well meaning persons on earth.

This video demonstrates the snooty, elitist attitude of teachers.Teachers make broad assumptions about parents. Most teachers, truly, believe they are above everyone else. Teachers also labor under the delusion that they are the only persons with stressful, challenging jobs. They work 187 days a year and make almost $15K more than the average US citizen. They have benefit packages that would make most people's heads spin.Yet, they demand raises, when the economy is on the brink of collapse.

Your making just as many assumptions as you assume teachers do.
