We have a really tight two-car garage. Would be great if the GLE was able to pull into and park in the garage without nicking the wall or the other vehicle.

That would be a great/useful feature! I know Mercedes-Benz is developing a way to park the vehicle while standing outside with an app.

I agree that your videos are so well done and easy even for an old geezer like me. I have a 2021 GLC 300 but it was built while chips were in short supply so I have to plug my iphone into the ISBC port in order to use navigation, Mercedes Me, etc... I am not able to use the Mercedes navigation since it lacks the chips. When I do plug my iphone in, the screen says it cannot find a device. I then have to unlock my iphone and then the system will recognize my phone. Is there a way in my iphone settings so that I don't have to go through that extra step and the car automatically recognizes my iphone? My last car would recognize my iphone wirelessly so I didn't even have to plug it in.

Hi, I just subscribed, and I have a question. I have the surround camera system on my 2022 GLC 300 4Matic. When I’m pulling into the garage, the front sensors change color as I get closer and I get the audio warning. Bit I don’t see the lines around the car that deform as you get closer to something. How do I get those on the screen? Thanks.

Hi, great video. I have a quick question. Whenever I engage this system and put the car in reverse gear, I get a message saying “Check obstacles, depress the gas pedal”. Which I did not see in your video as well as other while using Park assist. Can you please let me know what this means. Thanks

so even on a new car, we just about to collect in the UK (not in thr EU maybe or not) no Active Parking Assist (parktronic) rear reversing, parallel parking now not an option even with the towing package which was one of the main reasons we went for the Gle 350 de amg prem + this will be disabled, along with No augmented reality, so no dash camera

Yes, it will detect if cars or people are passing. That being said, nothing replaces good driving practices. It is still the driver's responsibility to be aware of their surroundings. Thanks for the comment!

Too bad that MB has deactivated Active Park Assist (with driver on board) on the entire range of cars registered in Italy and also in other European countries since September 2020, and it's not clear if MB will deactivate it on all cars registered before that date at the next scheduled maintenance

Interesting, this is the first I have heard of this. Thanks for the comment!

@@automotiveguru MB-Italy answered yesterday to my disclaim as follow (translated in english): Thank you for contacting the Mercedes-Benz Customer Relations Office. I formulate this in response to your request for information of March 27, relating to the subject mentioned. In order to provide you with feedback, I have brought the matter to the attention of our Technical Department. Regarding your request, colleagues communicate that some features of the Active Parking Assist (in some cases the parallel parking, in others the perpendicular one) have been deactivated to comply to the new European regulations on road safety, the EU regulation UN R79 relating to automotive standards and security that will come into force from 2021. The parent company therefore follows the road safety rules imposed by the European Union. Regarding the question, if on vehicles where Active Parking works perfectly, this function will be deactivated, colleagues report that based on the information in their possession, in vehicles on the road that have the Active Parking Assist working, this will not be deactivated, as these vehicles have been homologated to have such features. MB has deactivated Active Park Assist (with driver on board) on the entire range of cars registered in Italy and also in other European countries since September 2020 SEE HERE!!! forums.mbc1ub.co.uk/threads/park-assists-disab1ed-on-a11-new-mercedes-he1p.268579/ AND HERE!!!: forum-auto.caradisiac.com/topic/463632-lassistant-de-stationnement-actif-a-%C3%A9t%C3%A9-d%C3%A9sactiv%C3%A9/

Just took delivery a new 2021 GLC two days ago, but still afraid to use the Active Park Assist lol.. My question is: do we still have to push the brake pedal gently to control the car when it performs the active parking? I asked to my dealer & they said there is no need to push the pedal whatsoever, but I still not convinced.
@automotiveguru2 жыл бұрын
There technically is no need to use the break in order for the system to operate. I find that many customers feel the car is moving too fast in the self parking mode. In order to control speed they/I utilize the brake. Hope this helps and thanks for commenting!
