Rob, as my great grandpa, who for a time was chief justice of Tasmania used to say "The law is for everyone, justice is for them that can afford it" Someone is making or protecting big bucks out of Parks and wildlife's persecution and that my friend is corruption. The damage these bureaucrats are doing to Tasmania's reputation is mind boggling.

That's so sad. In Switzerland we also have national parks, but no entry fees etc. Your just not allowed to camp there, which is ok. You can camp almost anywhere else, do your social media stuff, drone vids etc. There's only one region (Wallis, Matterhorn) where you are not allowed to camp (some silly nature police harassing campers).

Rob/Levi, I started following you when you went in search of Stannards grave, the time, money and effort you put in was incredible. Stannards last resting place would never have been found and with out your efforts would have been lost forever. Parks and Wildlife should be supporting you and your adventures, not persecuting you for using PUBLIC LAND.

Hi Rob, for what it’s worth, I’ve written to your Minister Nick Duigan. His office has acknowledged receipt, and said they’ll reply when the matter is investigated. Happy to send another one to the Secretary that you mention. The whole matter is so unfair, discriminatory, and makes no sense. You blokes must have upset some misguided warrior, or bureaucrat. Good on you for sticking up for yourselves, and I encourage everyone to write to the minister. Keep at them. Cheers Wayne

We live in a country that loves red-tape, loves bureaucracy, loves the rule of law. As someone who's only lived here for 20 years I'm constantly amazed at the crap that everyday Australians not only put up with, but implicitly approve of. The shit you're going through is a perfect example - an absolutely meaningless set of regulations, that benefit absolutely no-one and which are enforced simply for the sake of enforcement by government officials who could be better employed doing something meaningful. Watching with interest from NSW.

So i am scared to come to Tasmania because of your bureaucrats and i am planning on going to Indonesia, I feel sorry for everyone living in Tasmania.

@@imchpr2000 Sadly, i feel this i exactly what it is all about. Having the one or the other photographer out in the parks has never been seen as a problem. Attracting hundreds of gold prospectors to the parks is a completely different story. P&W do everything in their power to curb the upcoming rush of prospectors to the parks. They see current legislation unfit to stop the stampede, thus, unsurprisingly, new regulations are pushed. Levi and Rob might win the battle for their land access and filming, but they will sure loose the war of keeping prospecting laws as they are.

As a landscape and portrait photographer, I’m with you all the way, Rob. At this point, Parks and Wildlife are looking to bury their head in the sand and hope this all goes away. They forget what power Tasmanian communities have when it comes to persuading public opinion and forcing change. I, amongst many, will write to our representatives and seek this change, but my strong advice would be to continue to try and get media exposure on this - if the noise gets loud enough, it’ll end up in the house of reps and head for bill amendments. Perhaps brace yourself for more of the ‘mud’ slinging before this sort of change occurs.

It’s clearly obvious that the pair of you are no amateurs when it comes to the bush so of coarse you wouldn’t be damaging it. Think they really just want people sat on the couch and not leaving their properties probably because of global warming or something. There’s a idea take in a whole lot of native seedlings to plant on your way in to help with carbon capture 😂. Good luck trying to get this overturned and just hope they don’t employ consultants at a cost of millions to work a plan for you lol cheers for the content you produce.

I appreciate your ongoing strong voice on this issue. There has been a precedent set by Parks and Wildlife on limiting access and use of land that is going beyond what is reasonable for the protection of lutrawita (Tasmanian) land. The business licence and photography/videography issue is just one of them but deserves all the recognition for it's issues as it's getting and MORE. Beyond this is also the wulinantikala (Cradle Mountain) commercialisation building and additional fees you have talked about on your channel previously, the limitations placed on palawa people to conduct cultural burns/land management/hunting and gathering practices, the attempts to limit off track roaming but excessive infrastructure on others just to name a few. Common sense is not common to those at Parks and Wildlife but money and power talks

The level of incompetence across all levels of government in Australia is quite astounding. As a landowner in Tasmania, and that land backs onto a National Park I guess I should be weary of these facilitators of the National Parks that are actually owned by the people for the people, maybe they should remember where the money they get paid with comes from. Levi and you do an amazing job of presenting Tassie to the world, it has been said earlier but the Parks & Wildlife should be supporting you or treating everyone the same. When you first started posting about this, I watched and was thinking, "Well, maybe they have a good reason for restricting access..." But then I found out that the licensing rules were created in the Stone Age...well at least when it comes to the web, social media, and amateur content creators. Tas Parks need to drag themselves into the 21st century and move with the times. Back in the day when these rules were drafted, it would generally take a film crew of half a dozen, as well as kilos upon kilos of equipment to film anywhere remote. Base camps, generators, etc etc. A lot of potential environmental damage if it was open slather for filmmakers. Today, the same can be done with one person, such as you, with a few small cameras, some batteries, and a pack, leading to far less intrusiveness on the environment you are documenting.

Yourself & Levi have my 100% support on this "Bureaucracy gone Mad" syndrome that has crept into Tasmania's good folk well being. Unfortunately the Master at the wheel of the Ship has let the "Crew" run rampart. Not a good standing for the "Master". One only has to look at the changes in Ministers portfolios that have been changed and "reshuffled" since they have been in Government. Please understand I am not one way or the other associated with Political Parties. To put in Layman's terms, those in power are elected by the people, and those that are reporting to those elected are required to abide by the wishes of the people' Not Dictate, enough said. If J.R. would like to talk to me personally it would be welcome. It reminds me of the JR from Southfork Ranch, Dallas. All the best Fellas.

My knowledge of Tasmania amounted to a few photos that friends had shown me. But not anymore. Following your travels has given me a real interest in Tasmanian wilderness areas. So much so that when I watch your shows I follow along on google maps so I can actually see where you are and the area you are travelling. This has given me a better knowledge of the river systems, lakes and button grass plains etc. National Parks couldn’t run a billy cart race let alone fairly manage access to a wilderness area as you have shown. Trying to find snippets of history at my home is very hard and would welcome someone of your standards adding to history, as should your government. We wish you the best in your future endeavors!!

Well said and well thought out Rob. I suspect that they are jealous of the gold findings and possibly the guesstimated online revenues?

Every now and then I get reminded of how well we have it over here in the USA with our State and National Park Services. Realizing of course, there may be the odd hiccup along the way...I’ve never heard of such blatant discrimination occurring in the way it has happened for you and Levi. This makes my heart sick...I found Levi’s channel first and was led to your channel which added a whole new dimension to my fascination with Tasmania...a country I’d not known anything about other than a cartoon character from my childhood days...the Tasmanian Devil on Looney Toons...ironic being that the Tasmanian Parks Services seems to be the ones that are “Looney Toons”! Keep up the fight and your quest for continued content...I’m sure Parks Services would just throw anything I wrote to them in the trash as I’m an American and my voice won’t be heard as I’m not a Resident of Tasmania...but their actions have no doubt cost them thousands in tourism dollars as I was wanting to travel down under thanks solely to what I saw on your channel and Levi’s as well. ‘Money talks” ...I’m sure there are hundreds like me who will no longer wish to travel to that part of the world where a governmental entity so blatantly discriminates two hugely talented citizen ambassadors who bring Tasmania and all its beauty into our homes with just a click. Sending love and determination to you and Levi.💪🏼👍🏼🙌🏼❤️

Rob, please understand that the community supports you as the hypocrisy of Parks and Wildlife Tas is clearly being demonstrated not by you but by their own media stream. It's just sad how poorly our state government runs this most important portfolio. Parks and Wildlife will certainly be scrambling after this last blunder. Thanks for the videos mate.

Parks & Wildlife seem to have an over ending desire to exclude people from the parks. The parks I have visited recently now only have a tiny fraction of the facilities (tables, chair barbecues), they once had.

Absolutely NP & W should be pinning medals on you guys, all you are doing is promoting the parts of Tasmania the corporates don't want to know about. The Spirit of Tasmania has zero pamphlets about NW Coast & West coast of Tassy, it's all controlled by major hotel chains. I love your work, keep it up. Brent x Smithton
