Wheels yelling parklife was pretty funny. I enjoyed this review, it went in a bit of a blur.

As an American, I'm quite pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a promotional board game about our national parks that is actually good. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

I always enjoy little weird moments of realism in games - only being able to share space with other people four times a year? Seems about right
@michaelcreek38134 жыл бұрын
You can actually use it twice each season, because your campfire relights whenever one of your hikers reaches Trail End, giving your trailing hiker the opportunity to use it again that season.

I bought this game as a Christmas present for my sister and brother-in-law because they are very outdoors-y people who also enjoy boardgames, and they are very excited to try it! Never would have known about it if not for this review!

Wrath_Spirit Welcome to the hobby, if you need any advice or questions let me know. If you ever want a game similar but themed different, Tokaido is similar, and equally as beautiful and can be had for under 30$.

Wife and I bought it last week, played it for the first time today. Safe to say we'll be playing this one a lot, especially once we've introduced it to our gaming group. I'd likely have never even noticed it in the store if not for this review, but you convinced us to give it a go!

I just wanted to say that I really love the mix of reviews and let's plays you're doing on the channel, it really makes me feel like I understand the game really well and that I know what I'll be getting myself into.

As an outdoorsy American, I have some thoughts about the realism of this game. First if this really wanted to simulate visiting National parks it would be locked at a 20 player minimum. Seriously those places are always so crowded. We spent hours in traffic jams in Glacier National Park, and any hike you go on will be with your ten new best friends. This has it's ups and downs, as community can be nice, but finding a good place to camp gets harder, there can be a lot more trash, and it drives up costs. If you want a more solitary experience, State Parks and registered wilderness is the way to go. Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado is an awe inspiring experience, and though hard to access Holy Cross Wilderness is equally breathtaking. Prairie Creek State Park in California has all the majesty of the Redwood Forests without the expense or crowds. Goblin Valley Utah has awesome rock formations like Zion or Arches National Parks, but you can climb around on the rocks and no one cares! In Idaho where I am now there are no National parks because the State made everything State Parks, allowing for more focus on activity use, and less restriction due to tourism influx. It's great! The Frank Church Wilderness here in Idaho is amazing and one of the biggest wilderness areas in the Nation! Not to say National Parks are bad, and they are definitely worth going to, but if you don't have the money or don't like the crowds State Parks are a fantastic alternative. Secondly, no National Park will let you light a fire. Fire restrictions in National Parks are super strict, and for good reason. There's way too many people in those campsites with way too little common sense. Thirdly, again due to crowds wildlife is rare. You can tell there's a moose or a grizzly in public view in Yellowstone due to the apocalyptic rode blockage that will occur when people abandon their vehicles to try to get a picture. Fourth, the depiction of rangers seems entirely accurate to me, with the exception that they sometimes make you listen to community college style lectures, or make you touch gross animals, like slugs. Fifth, the experience of wheels loudly shouting inane bullshit disturbing the otherwise serene experience is realistic to the experience of a National Park campsite. Thank you for reading my essay.

A lot like real park experiences(didn't want to get hit for saying park****). You can go alone when you want solitude but that is not what is the most fun. Sharing it with family or friends makes it more fun and makes you want to go again. I think I will grab this one. Thanks

This looks like the kind of game my mother would like, not to try and win, but just to look at the cards and enjoy the experience. I won't be able to play this without the lazy bluegrass music from the video playing in my head. Nice touch, that.

This does look pretty, & it looks as though the card stock & finish are quality too. It's a pity more games don't have more resilient pieces & parts, considering how much some of them cost. Edit: Parklife!

Played once. Enjoyed it. Would like to buy it, but not at it's current rate. It's got beautiful artwork, which may be driving the price point, but I just don't think it would get to the table enough to justify that price.

Daley Portland I can understand. I mean it depends on what type of game you play and value. For me if I get even 2 plays out of a game though it’s worth it. You go see a movie now it costs $50 for a couple hours. So for me if I pay $50 for this even 1 play it’s paid for itself. But that’s my view of every game.

Is there a particular reason why Wheels was shouting "Park Life"? It's funny, but I feel like I'm missing some context.
@phylion60675 жыл бұрын
It's one of the funniest things to play when you're doing something crazy in a game like; -outrunning the cops in a ridiculous chase in Need For Speed: Most Wanted -the GM could play it when the party causes an uproar in the town -an over the top chase that may call for the benny hill theme -being a high level and going to a lower level area and absolutely owning everything in your path -anything deadpool does Here's the video, worth a watch; kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4TYeaWKm8icobc (Blur's most known song is probably Song 2, which is the "WOOHOO, got my head checked by a jumbo jet" rock one used in ads)
