if u have only a cellar in finland you could also use a redlight lamp or the stage lighting from your band. to help with the cure time for solarez.

Dave Simmons so I want to make my first skimboard... I get how to do the whole bottom and how you spread it over the sides, but what do you do with the top of the board?

From the Solarez site: "Yes, to a degree. Most any color (except black) may be added in moderation. Reds should be avoided or used sparingly. The idea here is light transmission. If light cannot penetrate the resin, it cannot cure it. So, if you want a thick (>1/8”) pigmented section, add 1% MEKP catalyst to your batch, this will allow the surface to cure by UV reaction. The resin will exotherm (heat up) and cause the underlying resin to cure faster than normal by the MEKP catalyst component.

Where can I buy a good (cheap) blank that's 7 feet long and 2 feet wide at the center? because I've looked almost everywhere and i cant find the perfect blank. Also where can I find the fins and plugs for a thruster set-up? (again, I've searched a lot of places and where I live has no surf shops).

how much resin do you think i would need to make a 4'10 sweet potato? and would a quart of sanding resin be enough?

you need lam resin! don't use sanding resin for ur lam buddy.

get a gal of u v resin, or lam resin if u don't use u v.

@KRauSLoCo Not very strong and quite brittle. It's the same as any polyester resin, just that they mix in a UV-activated curing agent. This means you don't have to use 1.5% MEKP Polyester monomer is still very toxic.

Greetings, What to do if there are a few small pooled resin areas (and crystalization snowflake spots) and runniness on the board's bottom and rails? The resin is UV laminating resin so it will not get totally cured/dry til I put it in the sunlight...unfortunately it was late evening when I finished laminating (sun below trees) and it will rain tomorrow... whereas I'd say this is a good thing and gives me time to scrape the pooled spots and rail runs, I seemed to have the problem whereby the resin has made the lamination too tacky and too thick to wipe the excess off but not dry enough to sand (and again, I have to wait til I can cook it in uv rays of daylight)...how did I find myself in such a pickle?...only me I tell ya....smh...Please advise...
