The DCT version is just the best all around bike design until now, it's difficult to argue otherwise when you attend those parameters for which it was designed. Beyond personal perceptions, has everything required to go in almost any environment. Going into perceptions, play with torque and paddles, tractions and drives modes, test the inclinometer and ABS intrusion, feel a full engine power with the bike full loaded, 2 passengers climbing twisty roads heading to Cordillera de Los Andes, get into the highway at perfect cruise speed, low center or gravity for just past through narrow small towns streets and corners, big cities traffic jams, ¿Heavy? has the perfect weight to face extreme windy conditions, change your tires and Patagonia or Atacama will be done. It's hard to think of another motorcycle with that range of good performance. Plus a reliable and indestructible engine and transmission? Just the best all around.

The rider can change between permanent auto and permanent manual, the switch is in front of the throttle. It has an inclinometer so the ECU knows when you're going up or down hill and selects appropriate gears accordingly. In basic Drive mode it will change up early to maintain good fuel consumption but avoiding labouring the engine. When stationery for more than 5ish second's, switch it into neutral - trans will thank you for it in the long run - then when it's time to move, switch it back into Drive mode, it's almost instantaneous and it'll retain your presets. The 3rd brake ( on the rear rotor ) is primarily a hill-start brake. It'll give you it's 54bhp well below it's max 8000rpm, again for fuel consumption and longevity. It's eng. spec. is tuned for low rev torque. 68Nm at 4750 is actually quite impressive, it makes for a relaxed ride. There are lots of accessories for this bike Inc a softer seat. The brake calipers are fitted with particularly grippy pad's. Not a sexy bike but a damn good long-term friend.

Never switch mine into neutral when riding. Pointless. Clutch is automatic. It’s nothing like a car gearbox.
@WildernessLVR
@WildernessLVR 3 жыл бұрын
From some research I've done I'll have to agree that changing to neutral is pointless. It will not impact any long term wear to the transmission as the clutch is saving any stress and other components are keeping the bike stopped. Clutch might wear at same rate as the manual version does, who knows. Still, I think it's safer to keep it in D, should you need to suddenly move away of something. By the way, car automatic transmissions have come a long way as well. Putting into N to save fuel for instance is very marginal and again could be unsafe or dangerous. Cheers!

@paulegan7376 3 жыл бұрын
@@georgehouston6327 Yes, it’s the padding , memory foam . On the original seat , I couldn’t go on the bike any longer than 30 minutes before I’d start shuffling.Wife , as pillion, even less. Now with the Shad , that time period is up to 2-3 hours. There is a video on you tube show to change . ‘ Does the shad seat fit the nc750x’ The seat is a straight replacement for the OEM , you only have to swap over the rubber grommets on the bottom. Your problem may be finding one as Shad have now discontinued the seat.

I have the NC750x 2019 dct and I'm absolutely loving it! I was considering buying a cb500 cause it's a bit cheaper but in the end the NC won me. The only "problem" is that you can't show off some exhaust sounds like you do with a normal bike, by holding down the traditional clutch and throttling (sorry I don't know the term in English), unless you are on Neutral. One of the precautions and safety measures is that you can't put it on Neutral if you are on Drive, unless you are completely stopped. They even have wheel spin sensors to prevent it. By the way I was wondering what helmet you wear?

Yeah I totally agree you can't rev the bike like you can on the manual version, but it's just so effortless riding. I've got the HJC RPHA 70 helmet 👍

Is the automatic transmission, in your opinion, a game changer, considering it’s 10 extra kilos? Also, the left foot and hand have nothing to do so, for the sake of symmetry, perhaps Honda could have relocated the rear brake from the right foot pedal to a left handle lever? Good report BTW.
@RevZolution
@RevZolution 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. 👍 To be totally honest I don't think it's a game changer and I wouldn't personally buy one. It is good if you want to ride but really struggle with gears etc or you have a physical limitation which would mean riding an auto would keep you on two wheels. However with the left side of the body not doing anything I didn't really feel the urge after a while to do something with my foot or hand. It just becomes natural. I hope that makes sense

Can’t understand why it’s not a game changer. Have one myself, co-incidentily exactly the same as in the review. If you ride a bike everyday, especially in traffic, you’ll never want to go back to a manual. No more looking at the rev counter to make sure you’re in the power band or correct gear. Now you can focus on the traffic and around you. Perfectly fine for going on tours or breakfast runs. Gearbox is not complicated to operate, especially for us playstation/pc generation. Have worked much more complicated consoles before. And really good fuel economy. On par with my old BMW G310R.

@@RevZolution Thanks for replying. I like your videos, just a note ...For me a nice looking bike should be shown when riding from top...as the rider see it. All the time side camera feels like I am placed in a side car beside you, forced to see the edge of the screen and handle bar only. Combination with 360 cam is ok, gives more viewing content. But we should not forget that riding is a balancing action of enjoyment , harmony of machine and rider being in control. So, I feel cam infront of the face is best most realistic location. Others should be supporting cameras.
