Something Ive done to skip the drying time is towel-dry the cutting and dip the end into melted wax. Has worked really well so far.

Letting it callous over for me, if im doing a water prop, has always led to the prop dying for me. Directly putting the cutting into water has been the best success rate i have at propping. I personally believe it has to do with the way the plant callouses over.

I put mine into water every single time. I’ve never experienced rot from a monster that already has Ariola roots. If it doesn’t have those types of roots, already popping out, you want to put it in dirt for sure.

Second time I hear this let it dry tip, a lot of comments say it's unnecessary and they never do it. My monstera is out of control with growth and I will try both methods to see if there's a noticeable difference or rotting.

If my cutting is small enough, i sterilise the cutting before dipping in melted wax (not too hot). Ive found it auper easy since it immediatly seals off the nub drom mousture and helps prevent rot, which i struggle with being so forgetful. I love water propagations, but remembering to change the water is 😭

Instead of wait for the callous to form, just put some healing product on it. You can buy it and could be pretty expensive or use the traditional medicine and put some cinnamon all over the cut, blow the excess and reduce the time of drying and also avoid some bacteria and fungus

What i do instead is use a moss pole and cut it in half leave it for a week or so then remove it. the moss pole is essentially a vertical pot and i can cut it without having to plant it because all the roots are already in the pole

Thanks !! One question : Is your mother plant’s new leaf juvenile? does it affect its growth? I have a young monstera variegata albo and it just grew a full white leaf.. wondering if i should wait or cut it now, and if i cut it if it’s ok to cut more than one node without the mother plant reverting back to starting point maturity wise.

Use tumeric powder and leave 2-4 hours. Then it's good to put in water, i used to put directly into water after cutting and my Thai con got root rot and died, i've learnt a hard lesson. Actually, you just need a little of patience and should not skip this crucial step if you want growing plants.

Getting elbow leaf cutting that is not rooted in just a few hours, so nervous of what to do when it arrives. I did buy an air stone, thinking to put it in water, but if it arrives in moss, do I still need to let the sides of the notes Callis over? Also, do I need to add nutrients to the water since it doesn’t have fruits yet and only a little aerial route
