Really interesting series, Sree Iyer please make sure there is one such interaction every week. No where on the net can you find so much clarity and pointed answers to questions surrounding the Mahabharata. Thanks to Manish Pandit Ji, hopefully we see him every week.

Mahabharat is our history and we are proud of it

Those liberals who reject Mahabharata as history of Bharat may stick to it. We, the Sanatana Dharma followers can stick to our theory that Mahabharata happened and it is our history. The other Abrahmic faiths like Islam and Christianity, I am sure have branched out of the Sanatana Dharma. Thus, I believe that the Abrahmic religion has evolved at a later date and the advent of Christ in Bethlehem was chronicled in the Bible after 3-4 Centuries (?) same is true for Islam. Whereas, as I understand it, a human born on earth is born into the Sanatan Dharma. However, if a new life is born in any religion, other than a Sanatana Dharma, they have to undergo a ritual that enables that child to be included/accepted in that particular religion. What does all these rituals mean?????? What happens if these rituals are not undergone by those religions??? What would be the status of the new born child ???? Can somebody throw some light on these queries???

Yes it is history at basic level but vastly exaggerated in details e.g time lengths, number of people on battlefied, special powers... i only gp with the evidence. There is not much archeological evidence on battlefield of kurusetra of massive war. Maybe small one but not on grand scale of mahabharat.

@@gnair8307 nop. This is more wishful thinking. Best to stick to the archeological and linguistic evidence. We fall in the same hole as islamists when we over glorify and exaggerate past events and personalities. It is faith, not evidence. Best to treat it as such.

@David Rath nop your wrong. Theres lots of evidence of jesus existence. Their plentiful archeological evidence. Whereas there is little evidence of moses and abraham and of the story of the exodus. Thats all myth. Alot of hindu stories are myths as well which has important u underlying message. In india now people believe their were spacecrafts and nuclear weapons in the past. Thats embarrassingly untrue. No evidence other then stories which have historical basis but have become myths overtime like king arthur story or robin hood.

@Jag Singh In Khilafa E Lootyani ConAngrez Mughal Bandit NoWheru-Gazi's history books had barely 40 words on Shivaji the Great but there were chapters dedicated to each one of the Mughal badmash. If Antanio Maino & her orderly McMoun Surrender Singh had continued in 2030, World Singh would be saying Shivaji the great was myth and there were nothing like Maratha empire. They would be interviewing Richard Gaikwad of NYC to prove that Gaikwads were Christian.

Dr. Manish Pandit should be debating with. Dr. Nilesh Nilakantha Oak: so that 2 views are debated rather than one person : Dr. Oak has withastronomical descriptions within Mahabharata itself, pinpointing the date as 5k to 7.5k BCE.

@Dr Manish Pandit ... Barbarīka aka Khatu Shyam Ji ..we in Delhi Haryana Rajasthan worship him only as our First God. Not to counter you, but for a thought like Ghatothkach, he was asked to sacrifice by Shri Krishna before going to the war otherwise the result would have been different and Shri Krishna knows that as Khatu Shyam ji was already on a vow like Bheeshma.. Jai Khatu Shyam ji. Also, this is a really wonderful knowledge session by you and I am sharing it among friends too as it covers our HIstory with Scientific proofs.. thanks for these wonderful insights

Great insights. It’s definitely not a myth. This is one thing which we can be absolutely sure. Jaati was prevalent and Yudhishthir gave punishment to culprits who were of different jastis according to their standing in the society. So it was both by birth and karma. You can’t change birth but you can change your destiny through karma. The privilege by birth has to be maintained through proper karma is the message. Babarik was son of ghatotkach and maurvi. Both were asurs and had special powers. Maybe that along with maa Kamakhya devi gave him invincible powers. Krishn and Arjun were 89 and 88 years old when Mahabharat war happened. Krishn lived for 125 years and 8 months approximately. If we could ever find out how old are our purans maybe it would be easy to find the timeline of Mahabharat.

Hare Krishna. Pgurus brought us nectar this week. Prabhuji Dr Pandit ji's description of the conversation between Ashwatthama with Prabhuji Lord Krshna is truly brilliant. Many more points were released on astronomy this week including the point about Kartik full moon being only possible before the war. Hare Krishna. I look forward to the next part of this thrilling series.

Time line of Yuga be divided by 360 to seem more in tune with time we live in. One year of Man is one day of Deva and seems there may be mix up/ multiplication between Deva and Man year.

Sree. A wealth of the story comes out when Panditji talks. Your interruptions are not working and the rushing him due to time is not useful. Sometimes the listeners need to do homework to pull up to the speaker not ask the speaker to become simpler.

Imagine a dream wherein someone is chasing and trying to hurt you, and you wake up all of a sudden. Your heartbeat is at its peak. In the above scenario, is the dream real, unreal or has it happened? On the physical plane (body) if we measure, only the heartbeat increase is seen. Some better measuring tools can show some brain activity. The question remains as to what has happened and has it happened. Mahabharata is known to have all the knowledge of the Vedas (Universe). So if you take any concept it has to be there is the epic. Let us see if Quantum mechanics is there in the epic. The dating of Mahabharata is an ongoing thing with each researcher coming up with a different date and having some points which support their observation. We see the Quantum mechanics principle of the act of observation affecting the outcome. So has Mahabharata happened? As you keep analysing this, it will make you question "the happening" itself. What does it mean to say that something has happened. This might sound crazy but as said Mahabharata should help us in understanding all the knowledge of the universe and this is a fundamental thing being questioned here. Our understanding of happening is limited and that needs to be corrected so that the question is answered itself. First, we have to be clear that not everything is happening in the physical plane and is visible. A celestial vision is needed to see things. Vyasa had given the vision briefly to Drupada (father of Draupadi) during the discussion if having five husbands is dharma, explaining the story behind it. Let us see an analogy for better understanding. If someone asks Is God there. The answer would depend on their existing understanding of God. That is the reason we have varied descriptions of God and as your understanding grows things become clear. The same has to be extended to happening. As is the case with the dream (happening inside a body) everything is happening within the entity called the Universe.
