Thank you ms yarn, for a wonderful tutorial I too loom knit and had to figure it out on how to loom knit the Harry Styles cardigan with all the different stitches on a knitting loom so I bought 4 boxes of the chunky flexee loom links and made a big knitting loom ( kinda like a hula hoop ) of 140 pegs ( 70 links ) and loom knit the body with all the different colors and stitches but stopped and put it away cause I was busy most of the time and didn’t have enough time to finished. The cardigan was for somebody not for me.

I have been looking for a blanket tutorial that is easy to follow and I think this is the one! I have a question though, could you go farther around the loom to make a bigger panel if you don't want to have alternating colors?
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 2 жыл бұрын
You can definitely make a bigger panel by using more pegs. Just note that if you add more panels, it's just a bit awkward, that's all.

Thanks for your tutorial of this baby blanket could I make it for a cot, or a baby seat etc?
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 2 жыл бұрын
For a cot or crib, I would use lighter weight yarn. This blanket is quite heavy, so I think of it more as a stroller/pram blanket or for the car.

Thank you for the great step by step instructions! I am really into making blankets right now so I will have to give this a try. One question I had was when joining panels why did you put the umbrella from panel A on peg 13 and move the loop of panel B on peg 12 over? Would it work just the same if you put the umbrella of panel A on peg 12 and knit over the loop from panel B?
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 2 жыл бұрын
Good question. Technically, the option you mentioned would join panels successfully, but the look would be different. I wanted a join that was flat, not bumpy, with no ridges, and that had the two colours show up like dashes, so horizontal bars. So yes, your alternative, along with many other variations, would create a good join, but esthetically, would display differently.

Do you join the panels the same way if the pattern is different from garter stitch?

I'm wondering if you're joining at the wrong spot - it's very tricky. Perhaps make a few mini-versions to help you identify which stitch to join into. Good luck.

I enjoy your videos very much!! Thank you for what you do!! I wonder if you might consider doing a level series?? Ex: level 1=Beginner 2= intermediate 3= advanced. I have yet to see this and there are so many beginner videos and that's great just when beginner's follow so well they become a higher level of knowledge and experience so it catches up but somehow the videos available do not really address that?? Just wondering as I really enjoy your video style. 💞✨️
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 2 жыл бұрын
That's a really good suggestion. Can I ask what level you think this video is? And would it be too complicated or unnecessary to use beginner, lower intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, advanced?
@SherylKatz
@SherylKatz 2 жыл бұрын
@@hellomsyarn I suppose I would consider this advanced beginner in the way you are naming the levels. This to me is a beginner project. But a beginner who has the basic knowledge of understanding ie measurement for the finished piece. Also Ewrap is used in all beginner projects which is fine to get a beginner to finish a project but, Ewrap is not really a basic knit stitch it it a twisted knit stitch. They have specific purposes, when used as a basic knit stitch ppl run into issues which are because they are not taught to use the knit stitches properly. I think it would be a more exact level for people to know what their knowledge is plus how many projects (different) have they completed? The more ppl learn the better but they also must put that to use by completing a variety of projects. Would you like to msg me I am on msngr??
