I’m so glad I found this. Just saved me at least a couple of hundred pounds for a simple defrost as no parts failed. If I’d known this model type built up frost in the freezer I’d never have bothered buying this model, or maybe just ensured I defrosted on a regular basis. No instructions to say this was necessary as the model is supposed to be frost free... Ho hum! Thank you so much!

Sure looks like the bag was not sealed when it was manufactured. And the fault was not rejected at assembly time. Sounds like manufacturers built in Job security. Either a new fridge gets bought or a new part gets sold. I Used to service appliances 30 years ago. I was looking around to find some one to watch to get some updating of my knowledge on the newer units and found you. I can tell by how you speak and present you know your subject. Thank You. Mark S.

Thanks for the great in detail video. I have a Samsung fridge freezer RL39WBSW, over the last few days all of a sudden stopped working, so turned off at the mains and turned back on and started working fine, however when the fridge and fridge get to the desired temperature the compressor turns off and then won’t turn on again until I restart on and off from the mains or the power button. I have bought a multimeter and tested start relay, overload protector, start capacitor and tested all the sensors and probes mentioned in your video including thermal fuse which all seem to be good and now just lost, no faults shown on the display either. any ideas?

God bless you Sir. This video is pure gold and I will re-watch it. I am going through _fault finding_ myself, that is beyond replacing the fridge door gasket. My fridge goes from 5°C to 10°C too rapidly (~15min) and causes the unit to activate fan and possibly compressor to cool it down. The 5yr old fridge (RB31FERN...) only started this "overworking" behaviour since last Friday. (I work such long hours in the kitchen, I know this fridge's behaviour by heart). If I don't attend to it, I know the December electric bill will be higher. I don't want to call the *useless* Samsung guys. I've seen them lie to my mum too many times and now it's my turn to either call them, fix it myself or buy a new fridge.

I have had problems with my Samsung RS267lash Fridge over freezing and causing inside middle vent hole and fan to eventually freeze to point of no airflow , then fan grinding eventually to a halt from being frozen. When I force the fridge into defrost mode, it does not seem to melt the ice either. *Theoretically, if I force it into Defrost mode, the heating elements should come on and should be able to test 110V Correct? Don’t think it’s a bad Defrost heating element , last time I checked this it showed 96 ohmsDefrost sensor (yellow) was +- 2K at Room temperature. Thermal fuse (Red black /w white foam) = 0 ohms Not sure what to do now.

Hello. Thank you for this video. I have experienced similar problems with my Samsung RL40 fridge. Am attempting a self repair with the hope that it is a similar issue with the thermal fuse/ntc sensor. I do however hear clicking noises coming from near the compressor area. Could this be when the defrost cycle is trying to take place but is not? Any help in this regard is truly appreciated. Edit: I am awaiting a multimeter to be able to test the various components. The freezer does cool but the fridge gradually loses cool until I remove the cover and manually defrost.

Hello, if you have a minute, I would like to ask a question. I have a Samsung frig(over and under-RB1955VQ). It will cool the frig and the freezer, but when it reaches the set temp, the unit cuts off, but will not activate again (to cool) unless I unplug the frig and plug it back in. Do you have a suggestion?
@lintrobb46286 жыл бұрын
This symptom is typical of a blown thermo fuse, as shown in the video, get a multimeter and do a 'continuity' test on the thermo fuse plug. If the circuit is 'open' then replace the fuse assembly or alternatively source a Microtemp thermo fuse of the same rating and solder it into the harness (the value of the fuse is printed on the casing 70.0 or 077 which means the Holding Temperature is 77 deg C). The Microtemp thermo fuse is a fraction of the price of the replacement Samsung assembly, This series of Samsung are known for this problem.

Our test equipment is unique. It reads the data from the fridge and connects to the local router, this data is then sent to our server where it goes on to a graph, in real time so you can analyse it. You can have as many fridges connected as you want 100 or more and they can be on different routers in different locations allowing you to analyse a customer’s fridge in there house as long as they have Wi-Fi. Freezer side is absolutely fine and at the correct temperature just having problems in the fridge section as it’s not getting cold enough. Thanks I’m advance.
