Just stumbled onto your page. Good stuff my man. I've been contemplating pulling the trigger on one of the many "kit" cars that are out there. Possibly 2. With being as unbiased as possible please feel free to give me the low down on the ho down of these cars. Factory five, Superlite, and Ultima are where my eyes are focused on. In response to the 4x4 question doesn't Superlite have a MOAB type truck? And THANK YOU for your honesty. These days it's pretty rare that someone would admit that a car scared them. Good to know. I went 236 mph in a quarter mile on my bike ( 2009 Hayabusa - twin turbo) did it. Can say I beat 7 seconds but..... BUT ... it took about 30 minutes before I was able to open my fingers to let go of the handlebars. My fingers locked in what could be called ABSOLUTE TERROR. Never did it again.

I looked around at those same options and asked someone who had built both the Ultima and SLC, he told me SLC hands down.

The superlite truck looks amazing. And looks to be super good value. Ultima dude in my city has 2. He claims he wishes he got an slc. Would've been cheaper apparently especially with some upgrades he did. Factory five for certain models is sick. But wouldn't touch the ones that use donors. The cobra replica and the 35 hot rods sure. But the gtm seems like it'd be more work. The 818 seems like a decent cheap track toy with a donor but issues. However useful option if you buy all brand new parts vs donor except drive train and do a hybrid swap.

@@GearheadDaily I kinda still don't mind much though realistically. Was also thinking if I do end up building it down the line get a full carbon body. Need to see how much some of the other transmission options cost though first. Want the Ricardo but hard af to get unless you have a friend with a Ford gt. Trying to build one as a nicely done up road car but also kinda full on race in a sense. Built for top speed runs. Add an after market traction control set up that's adjustable. Nice interior. Plus something more exotic then the ls. Also so I can hopefully get an easier high revving solution to match the transmission choices. Engine options I'm think so far Merc m120 probably stroked and bored and tuned so its kinda like the Zonda engine. Merc v10 Benz v12 or v10 Toyota v12 Vws sourced w12 tuned more like the Bentley. Audi sourced Lamborghini v10 or junkyard sourced lambo or ferrari v10 or v12. Or something jdm. 2jz or maybe an rb series motor. But Trying not to hit the 200k mark. And already know the carbon body unless I do it myself is gonna cost like 70 grand. So might have to go with the ls. Or give up stuff like the carbon tub.

@@GearheadDaily I think I should be good. Need to get further into my new career film industry shit. Trying to get into picture cars down the line but already working 2 unions lol. But I have a 69 gto I built up. Got a race engine and transmission cheap af relatively speaking. Think the tranny retails like 30 to 40. Sequential unit. Engine is a ls platform but a race engine made to be more streetable. Twin charged currently. Have the Vin matching tranny and engine but trying not to destroy those. Only thing I can't put back factory original is the suspension but reissue bits exist though pretty sure most people even collectors will like the modern suspension and brakes on it. Might be building my one boss something interesting if he is down. Charger roller vintage one. Stuff a srt10 sourced viper engine and a manual in it...lol. And have a few cars I wanna grab and flip. Fd rx7 that just needs a motor and tranny. And a mk4 supra but it's an auto and a single turbo. But I know where to get some bits cheap to get them running and make a nice profit. Might sell my gto. Don't want to but if I put it back stock keep my engine and tranny. Flip it I could probably easily fund a slc and get myself a cheap builder I can turn into a new "gto" lol tempest or lemans converted but easier daily driver that I can beat on once done. Plus the superlite. Plus with a few of the vintage muscle cars I know that are sitting potential money makers. 2 cougars. Total of 7 chargers from 69s to 72 or 73 I think. A 67 but meh lame. A barracuda a road runner 2 chevelle malibu cars easy for converting but ones already an ss malibu chevelle. So trying to keep my muscle and have some modern sports car fun. But a budget toyota v12 manual swapped m4k on the cheap could probably make me a few grand easy if not a good 10k. The fd is cheap af and to get it running I'd be into it less then a quarter what it's worth running even with a replaced motor and tranny. Hopefully my boss wants me to do the project and not just sourced the roller from me. But can make a few bucks if not. Barracuda and roadrunner are my mom's old cars. But road runner I have plans for. Hate the look but love the history behind the superbird, family friend has no one to leave his super bird too. Since I was a kid had a deal with him, sticker price plus inflation and its mine. So alot less the sticker value now on those cars. But Flip my mom's road runner for an upgrade. Sell her barracuda and hopefully take the profit from the road runner and that after I get the super bird to find a builder of different year Cuda or pay for building a charger for me. But also have one last crazy build. 4 door r34 since they can be had in Canada. Gtr spec conversion. Ways to do it reasonably cost effective but it won't be stock it'll be like a fully upgraded gtr. Thank God for aussies and their helpful nature and love for fast cars. Lol if I do it right car plus conversion will cost like 40 to 70k all in and like have lots and lots of shit done and like 1000 awd hp and a sequential plus still be able to do the gtr thing and go full rwd for drifting. But if I ever get the chance. Dude. You're trying my gto or the replacement budget version. 700rwhp. On like 5 pounds. Can get up to 1300 to the rear wheels. No turbo lag still has a little bit of a boost kick but hard to explain soft for boost kicking in but you can deff tell when it's making full boost and set to high. Need to get around to finishing the last idk 10 percent and dialing shit in with the boost brakes and suspension. Straight line only on high boost right now. Literally just getting the last bits done like ac suspension dialed In putting the new carpets in and trunk liner. And setting up the dash set up for boost control vs a laptop and puttingin the powersteeringto see if I want that or keep in manual rack was originally powered but have a new modern one. Might go with just a knob but don't trust people not to fiddle with it so was thinking button set up but need to program it. Not as easy with covid and it sitting in my friends families garage outside the city. But basically full on restomod I can revert to factory. Wanna source vintage bits for the og motor, stuff that isn't made anymore but makes for a really original build. But cost prohibitive. Some stuff is still made but idk it's set up for daily toy till I can make it a show car. But hopefully getting a truck soon. Reference. I'm 27 now had the gto since I was 17. Insurance wasn't doable on that so kinda was like fuuuck wait it out till I'm 25. Concussion riding bikes and let my license lapse. But at least my insurance isn't mental right now and I'll be able to get the gto on the road within the next year hopefully. Fun as a track toy right now. And I've had 90 percent done since I was like 18. Blew my shoulder though and other health issues and 1k a month insurance kinda killed the motivation. Slc I'm already prepared for the 1k a month but for that I'm down lol xD and apparently a few insurance places I didn't know about when I was younger can help with my rates on both cars. But building I'm always down for. Just need to know I can get it road legal first and insured. Plus not financially kill myself. But hot rodded first personal car was dumb. So truck build my gto drive that and then probably a year flipping stuff and then a year maybe 2 on the slc. Faster if I get that 3rd union or the promotion I want. Moving outside the big city should help too.

@@GearheadDaily Recently realised we haven't got a much space as we thought for the fuel pump or filter, so that'll be... interesting. The UK has an Individual Vehicle Approval which governs EVERYTHING about the car, including how rounded some of the panels/edges can be, any rivets or fasteners have to be smooth and not be a puncture risk. Reckon I should ship it to MN, get it approved and then re-import :D

@@PedalBox LOL! Sure ship it over! My advice is to put the fuel pumps on a panel behind the driver, but not in the cavity, outside that to give it air flow. Mine over heated and died within 2k miles

@@GearheadDaily Interesting, Our tank is in the front ahead of the passenger (just realised we haven't finished/posted that video yet) but it's not impossible to get some airflow to it or have it on the side where we might end up with a side pod of sorts.
