A nice tip for survivability - when you use a stim, it gives you contested health and recovers it, meaning that if you have contested health but no enemies around (either they died or you used the banner), you can recover it by using the stim + get the normal stim healing on top.

so, in theory, if you had a mortal wound and one stim, you could drop banner and then stim for a full heal and cure mortal wound? same for allies as well, i'd suppose

@@zovcy In order to clear the Mortal Wound status, you need to already be at full health when using a stim.

@@COA5T not exactly, you just need the stim to get you to full or be used at full. So if you're revived with a mortal, you come back with enough health that 2 stims will get you to full and cure the mortal wound. though I haven't had a single stim heal more contested than usual yet. It seems to only heal a set amount, and the visual used for it is some contested health. But it hasn't done a full heal with banner or otherwise in my experience

Ok so for any bulwark main here that still doesn’t know why the parry is not working when you are blocking in time, go to the weaponry and if below the stats of your sword (hammer or power fist) says “blocking” change it to another version because it will only block and you won’t get any parry with that. I realized this 3 days ago and I thought it was simply because maybe I was bad with the class but then I changed the version of my sword to fencing or balanced and since then I can parry easily.

Watching these 3 videos (which are awesome and incredibly helpful btw ty) makes me realise go from 1 extreme to another in this game, if i want thoughtful tactical gameplay i'll play either bulwark or assault (dodge - gunstrike - thunderhammer style) or turn my brain off and play tactical or heavy with the meltas 😆

@@COA5T The only thing I wanted to ask is your choice of melee weapon, do you take the chainsword over the power sword because of its simplicity so its less to worry about?

@@KhalainBear Of course, Brother. The Power Sword is my most used weapon currently, although the Chainsword is probably my favorite. Due to what I showed in Parts 1 & 2, I wanted to continue using the Balanced Chainsword for this video to show consistency in what I demonstrated, and that it was not the controlled environment of Trials making that possible, but it could be reliably performed in the highest difficulty operation.

Thank you for these guides they're amazing, and have definitely improved my gameplay. The point early in the operation, where you were confused about why you got the gun strike, after it giving a block visual, it looked to me that it was the Minoris that caused the block, but you still got the perfect parry on the Warrior, as straight after the block there was a dulled flash of the perfect parry

TY Brother. Although the Power Sword is my favorite, I believe that the Chainsword is a better weapon. Better combos and the heavy attacks do a more consistent job of interrupting enemies.

On PC I think you can "fix" this silly issue where sometimes you block by accident. Just use any app that lets you do macros. And by macro I mean give yourself a parry button that just parries. You make it register only a single click, no matter how long the button is held. You'll then also need to dedicate a button to blocking, so you can hold it normally as well.

Its not just that, if you parry too late you still get a block with even a fencing weapon. So of you are tapping the button and you parry too early you still input the next parry but it only has time to "wind up" to block. U can see this around 8 minutes when he doesn't understand why his timing is off. He actually has a minoris between him and the Warrior. He perfect parry the minoris because it hit him in the parry window before the Warrior. But you can see he is tapping F so he winds up the next parry but it only reaches to block the Warrior.

@@Lyonatan I'm just suggesting a solution to the specific issue of confused inputs. It happens commonly when you have the same button do different things based on hold or tap. We have this macro workaround when the developer is too lazy to just have proper options and key bindings in their product.

Thank you for those videos! They are a great help for me because I simply suck at parry and dodge mechanics in this game. Still, I think there are some inconsistencies and bugs with parry as you shown from 7:37 to 8:15. Anyway, great work and keep it up!

He perfect parried the hortigaunt in frpnt of him. And I guess he was tapping block so he put in the input for partying but it was too late, if you parry too late you still get a block. That's what confuses people about why they block sometimes instead of parry. I really urge everyone to play with a balanced weapon in low difficulty to get the timings right.

Thank you, Brother. I will be completely honest with you. A build video from me, while it could add SOME value, would not really be in my wheelhouse. There are 10s if not hundreds of build videos on YT at this point, and quite a bit for Bulwark. I show my build at the end of this video briefly, but I tend to go against the grain and use unconventional thought processes when making builds for myself, as I am trying to accomplish something specific that majority wont resonate with due to lower output (damage/kills/etc).

@@HitsuDen Yes, Brother. The Tyranid are a Hive Mind. When you defeat a Major, either most or all of the minors that spawned with them will die instantly. This is why I focus on defeating Majors and ignore the smaller creatures.

Thank you Brother! I could but I believe it would be misleading and most likely irrelevant to most players because I use an Azeron keypad that I just map keys to. I sustained injuries in my arm and wrist I cannot use a conventional KB for extended gameplay sessions due to some lingering pain it causes.

Please can you do a video on parrying for other classes? I assume that it’s the same for each class but different weapons change it up? Or maybe not? (except bulwark of course)

@@RanTurner The parry window for all classes except the Bulwark is the same, Brother. I wanted to make these videos because the players were struggling when coming from the other classes to Bulwark and wondering why it was so different for only this class. It was quite a jarring experience for most, and it is due to having a Shield Block in our kit that has priority. Others classes do not have to worry about that so their parry is the same.

@@RanTurner For other classes you can press parry much closer to when the enemy's weapon is about to make contact with you, much like you would expect in most action games. Bulwark must press parry in advance of the actual weapon swing of the enemy.

@@Gellossgamer That is correct, Brother. This is why you will see a difference in the recovery amount from non-charged shot to a charged shot. The Bolt and Plasma Pistol also have a perk that does additional DMG to Terminus enemies, thus increasing the recovery amount.

@@Golesh02 In this series my goal was only to demonstrate the mechanics of the Bulwark parry itself. Over the course of parts 1&2 I was asked to show what was demonstrated during an operation. That was the only purpose of Part 3. In actuality, how I normally play is very offensive, and I attack with anticipation; meaning I am constantly pressing melee while anticipating the enemy's attack and respond with parry. Offensive parrying if you will. That is more advanced, so I just stuck to the basics for this series so that there is a clear visual of when to press parry.

@@davidefalzi10 The Power Sword, Brother. It's the strongest weapon we have and there's a reason it's exclusive. It does the most damage, armor recovery on the first hit through Gunstrike, and has the best cleave. Power Fist is not in a good state right now for Bulwark in my opinion. Assault can get away with it because of their Gunstrike damage, but Bulwarks sacrifice a lot with little return for using it.
