Your video series on 6bt is probably best on KZbin. I'm looking at building 4bt and all this is very helpful. Thanks alot.

Wish they had shops like this in Miami. Putting a 12v in my suburban 1500 that the 6.5 blew up in. Great job, like the conversions!

Hello there.. I want to do the same swap but on a dually 93 Silverado. I am also in the Miami area but still looking for a good place to door. I already got the engine, looking for the nv4500 now

I am extremely impressed by the manner in which you built this unit but I guess I would have taken the time to thoroughly clean everything and put two coats of paint on what items are paintable and thoroughly primed and painted the entire motor and transmission well I had the opportunity. Just my preference, that’s all. I figure if I’m going to spend the time and energy and the cost, I would prefer to see and feel like I’ve done a superior job during the process, that’s all. But your also right, that’s not necessarily going to accomplish but one purpose and that’s to beautify the engine. Personally, I just don’t like rust on parts period,.of any type,..but I also know and realize that have to be realistic!

This whole series is great, but I was kind of let down by the rattlecan paintjob. I’ve never rebuilt an engine but I’ve restored a lot of machinery and the parts are painted separately and then things are reassembled. That way you can apply the heavier, more durable finishes and they tend to last longer than spraypaint. It may not matter on an engine like this which will be pretty greasy.

Just out of curiosity...how come no P pump? Just keeping the cost down or do you have a specific reason? Thanks for all the build videos!

It came with the ve pump and was running great. The ve pump can support enough power upgrades for this build.

I would of like to see the engine turned up just a bit. I.E. head studs, bigger injectors, bigger turbo, p pump.

Hey what’s the part number for the injectors I can’t find them through the given link.
what did you spray the engine with? I am looking for a similar color to paint my engine. I don't mind rattle cans at all.
@Jonesys5 жыл бұрын
Cummins Beige. Available at most a parts stores in a rattle can.

@@Jonesys thank you for the reply, I was testing a gold color on some parts, this beige will work out much better.

Watching this series..this seems like ALOT. I'm not a master mechanic by any means , but I would like to find an old 12v and fix it up.. could you do a more detailed series. Meaning step by step. Every nut , bolts, every from step 1 to the end.. if I buy an old truck how do I remove the engine from the frame? How do I disconnect the engine from the transmission? How do i lift the engine out, or should i lift the cab off the frame instead?. The most I've ever done automotively is change brakes, rotors, change oil, and a battery..if you made a complete video from the very beginning untill the very end. I would pay for it...thank you

Get a gasser, it'll be a LOT cheaper and simpler to rebuild. Diesel mechanics don't like to give their secrets and so you won't find a ton of in depth info.
