Yes it was my wife and I that turned up. I love vinyl. I am still pinching myself :) Thanks Alex for including us in the video edit: We might be passing by Tuesday as my wife is going to get some vinyl weave for her cross stitching projects from a business further in that direction. The stuff is like gold dust.

I'm loving this series as much as the Potter's House! Everything is coming along great and will be awesome when completed! Alex, I don't know what you have planned for the grand opening, but you might consider including a barbershop quartet singing outside, and as I think someone else suggested, it would be fun to have some silent-film-type footage of it all. Best Wishes!

Josh's know-how is really invaluable on this build. I like how some building materials from the Potter's House are being used on the store. The penny counter is a way-cool idea. The Edward VIII mug was quite a find! I think Edward did not have a Coronation and any British or Commonwealth coins with his face on them would have been issued for less than a year.

Absolutely repurpose that studding for the rotted out studs. Someone commented in the last video about adding the sliding ladder on rollers to access the upper shelves like in the olden days,I'm 100% in agreement with doing that,if possible. Just like in the old libraries and general stores, that ladder absolutely belongs in there!!! Spectacular work guys!!! What is wrong with negative people who put thumbs down on these videos? Come on! What is fundamentally defective with these people? Unreal! As Bill the Cat would say of them, Ack!!! Love, positivity and Gods blessings upon you all!!!▪☆☆☆▪

💗 💗 💗 Alex! Great idea making the penny counter top, looks awesome along with everything you’ve done to the store so far. I know you can’t wait to get the shelves and showcases organized for display. This project is probably much easier on you ( and the family) than the potter’s house in terms of working conditions and location, except for having to write the check out for the down payment. You look healthier with each new video and I don’t think you could hide your happiness and excitement even if you tried.

The store is looking great! Being a business owner in Edmonton as well, if I could offer a suggestion it would be to minimize your tree cover on the front side of the building. It reduces "hiding spots" for the more criminally minded and vandalism which is an unfortunate part of our world these days. Also if you plan on storing merchandise outside, it allows passers by to see what you have which can generate more business. I sold antiques for a brief while at another mall in the city and the "open viewing" concept seemed to work quite well there.

Alex, I loved this. That was so much fun to meet the people who came over from England, even though she was from Edmonton. :-D Other than that, I totally understand about the peeling paint on the outside of the building. The townhouse condos where I live are being painted now and my neighbor and I have found peeling paint and when you start peeling it off it's amazing how much it peels off where it's not attached at all!!! Yuck. We took care of what we found. And I absolutely love that penny counter. What a great idea. Glad that Josh and Jakota were able to get that rotted wood out of the back space. It's all looking great, especially with all those inside walls taken out. Whew, that really opened it up. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these videos.

Trim trees so you get air circulation around house, to keep down mold. No trees over building roof to protect roof. Mold grows due to moisture, keep building dry. Gutters and down spouts get water away from building and keep water out of basemen. You can plant new trees if needed.

I wasn't really concerned about the shelves covering the windows...but...now that they have been "adjusted" it really does make it look more professional. Good job!

Surprised to see a Macfarlane Lang biscuit tin from Glasgow, Scotland. What about, next summer someone local could rent your back garden and set up a tea garden. Could draw in custom.

That's what I was thinking with those double side doors when I first saw building. Tables outside and coffee, tea, and snacks.

Totally love the pennie counter top. And love that you covered the blue at the front of the store. Just my opinion, I think all the big trees and shrubs need to go. And maybe a parking lot to the side. Maybe a small tree or two landscaped in. But I know you will make the correct decision for you. I have enjoyed all you do. It's so exciting the process and thank you for taking us on the ride with you! God Bless You and your family. ❤👌🎈

Het use newspaper to clean glass instead of a towel or paper towels. I learned this trick from an old lady I used to clean houses with. It works SO MUCH BETTER

Why do you think newspaper works so good? I know it does but not why. Think it would work on eye/sun glasses? I am going to try that!

You sound congested again, I've wondered with as much exposure you have to dust and moldy environments if you have looked at allergy shots or tinctures. I'm extremely allergic to molds and I other elements and have found they greatly helped me. I didn't realize till after I had been taking them for a while how exhausting my allergies had made me feel. I also wear masks when I have to clean or work in such areas.

Nice work on the store - it's exciting to watch it take shape. Peter Jackson grew up where I live in Pukerua Bay. It's a hilly little seaside village north of Wellington NZ. He did alot of the filming of his first feature film called Bad Taste here.
