If you are uncomfortable, have a bad feeling, just don’t want to be where you are, do not be afraid to be rude and get out of or avoid the situation. @Pete Pan what do you call it when children are sexually assaulted? They have blame too, according to you?
@meemzing4 жыл бұрын
@Pete Pan Nice rambling, however the question they asked the woman was "have you ever been sexually assaulted" & she answered no BECAUSE I don't go out, bla bla bla, x y and z. Her statement implied that this is the only way to get sexually assaulted, and it's not. She could have gotten sexually assaulted as a child, and she made it seem like she didn't BECAUSE of her own actions, when in reality it can and does happen aside from individual actions. Therefore, you have no right to blame those who get assaulted, because there is no excuse to assault - not a child, not an adult. I'll pose it to you like this - if someone provoked you by calling your mom a slimey, smelly bitch, and you beat them up - guess what? You're still going to be sued and tried for assault, and they won't be punished at all for what they said. You are 100% responsible for your own actions 100% of the time, nobody can "make" you do anything.

@Pete Pan There's no bias, I gave you a fact of the law, which is that there is no such thing as a defense of "I was provoked into doing x, y or z (for example raping, murdering, or torturing.)" Aside from the slim chance that someone has falsely accused someone else of rape, which current statistics show is only 7% of total rape cases, there is absolutely no legal fault that can be placed on the accuser. If you know of otherwise I'd be interested to see how you could elaborate on that.

With the exception of Tamera and Amanda; these women get on my nerves when it comes to sexual assault cases. I remember the story of that girl grinding up on the Male police officer when he was arresting her, and the ladies thought it was hilarious. It was not funny at all that men had a wife and children that all saw what happened on the Internet, and they were pretty upset about it, but since it was a man it was OK. Tamara asked a great question that episode, she had asked the ladies if they would be laughing if the roles were reversed. They just continue laughing. The fact is there are a lot of men being sexually assaulted as well, but they won’t speak about it because they will get made fun of. I was sexually assaulted by women when I was a kid, and then when I got to my early teens it happened again. To this day I get uncomfortable when someone tries to hug me, even when dating I get uncomfortable with any type of touching, which makes it hard for me to maintain a relationship. This is the very first time I’m admitting this happened to me and it feels good to get it off me chest. And for the record, I am in no way shape or form taking away from women sexual assault cases, I just wanted to add light on male sexual assault cases too. They should be both treated with the same attention and care.

For example, going to hotel rooms for meetings, getting too intoxicated with people you don't know, being overly sexual where you could be compromised and last but not least, leaving your drink out while you dance or do whatever and coming back and finishing a drink someone could drop drugs in. These are things which requires common sense. I will also say that even in these situations sexual assault could happen, but the bottom line.is, it's never your fault.

We need to stop victim blaming and victim shaming victims of rape and sexual assault. It doesn't matter how much alcohol you drink. It doesn't matter if you're wearing clothes or not. It doesn't matter if you spend time with a complete stranger or somebody to known your entire life. Anybody can be a victim of sexual assault. And the reason is because of people who choose to commit the crime of sexual assault. Victim-blaming a victim shaming is dangerous because it makes people think that if they are the victims of sexual assault, that they did something wrong. And saying that you should take precautions such as not drinking so much alcohol or wearing certain clothes is wrong, not only because plenty of people have been sexually assaulted while sober or while they were wearing clothes that covered them from head to toe, but also because it can make people feel as though they deserve what happened to them if they take precautions of somebody still decides to violate them. It doesn't matter what you do. What matters is what your assailants does.

So, to his lawyer, did I put myself in a bad situation by going into the break room alone to get a snack and my attacker comes up behind me and starts groping and kissing my neck....yeah, that's my fault...all I was doing was trying to earn a living and enjoy a quick break in between. If it wasn't for another co-worker coming into that kitchen area, I don't know what that man would've done to me because there weren't cameras in that area of the break room. When this incident happened,I was 19 years old and it really changed me tremendously....before the assault people would always tell me that I carried myself well and I also thought that was the highest compliment to give a person. After the incident, I struggled for years to get my confidence back. Please stop thinking all assaults happen because of alcohol or because someone "put themselves" in bad situations.

Thats stupid because what she didn't know is that sexual assaults doesn't only happen in college and schools or going with strangers but also at home, by family member or close friends too. Some people get kidnapped and get assaulted, does that mean those people put themselves in that kind of situations?.

Right?! Media condemned him taking only the word of an accuser as they do. Now that they have to back peddle they are silent. Amber Turd is such a disgusting psychopath and my heart goes out to the falsely accused. Johnny Depp is the VICTIM.

I am a Muslim woman who is covered from head to toe and I used to work at walgreens. It was my 16th birthday and I was working. An older male asked me to show him where the toothpaste is so I walked him to the back of the store. He grabbed me by the neck and put me im a headlock and kept saying give me a kiss. I was so shocked that when I screamed for help no voice came out of my mouth. That is literally how I remember my 16th birthday. So ye, woman dont ask for it.... I am 29 now with 3 kids. I will never forget this day

I heard the tapes and my heart bleeds for Johnny Depp! Amber Turd is a psychopath who was frustrated that Johnny didn't give it to her ruff and instead walked away from her, being the gentle man he is. And she 💩 in his bed. 😨 She needs to be locked up.

I appreciate that Amanda empowered Adrienne by taking what she said and GIVING her the term "agency" which is what it means. She did this instead of correcting her, which means she helps her sister without trying to criticize her.

Disgusting. That’s the type of thing a person thinks when they have to defend a disgusting person. On top of that, I BET she has been sexually harassed at some point. It happens to all the women, whether it is a small comment or something bigger. It happens to all of us from a really young age.
@WhatEver-mv6qi4 жыл бұрын
I was sexually harrassed/assaulted by a friend while with friends. He had an obsession with touching me against my will and consent. My friends ignored it as they thought I wanted it. Once I complained to my other friends, making it known that I am against it and scared of him and that I havent said anything against it because I felt like it was my fault in some way, they said that's normal, men show their attraction that way. Just because you dont like him doesnt mean he doesnt like you either. I only got out of it once I broke up all of those friendships. So, I wasnt nowhere unsafe, it was with my friends during normal daytime friend dates, between uni classes. Most mundane thing ever.

2020 and this 'victim blaming' narrative is still on, like when are we going to stop blaming the victims?
@estrellab.w.11024 жыл бұрын
Victim blaming, I think not. It’s called taking precautions.
@Moo1231474 жыл бұрын
you can take precautions, however her statement comes off as a generalization that all victims put themselves there and that had they not done x,y,z it could have been prevented. when we all know that there are situations where that is not true. she could've simply said no and that's it. There are many people who are in what would be a safe place and then find out its not. Victims usually always think about what they could and couldn't have done so her stating that just adds to the shame that they feel. i know being one. Saying it added really nothing to argument and does do some damage even if people don't understand. Even if someone is alone its not a pass or invitation. we can't always be surrounded by people or have someone watching us so yes sometimes your gonna be by yourself but it doesn't excuse someone assaulting you. If its not a fact in all instances than it isn't absolute truth and didn't need to be pointed out. Like i understand being aware of your surroundings but again even i was hurt by her comment.

I wish you more love, light, and healing. If you were a target of someone else’s sick desires that is never your fault. If a person violated you against your wishes they have the problem. The shame/guilt belongs to them for being so sick/fragile that they couldn’t accept no for an answer.

I was with Adrienne until that last comment about being scared and not being able to fight back. Fight, flight or FREEZE are primal responses to danger, and rape-induced paralysis (tonic immobility) is one of the most common responses to sexual assault - but ironically, also one of the least well-known. The lack of knowledge about this, mixed with rape culture, is one of the reasons as to why those who respond this way - which is out of their control - are more likely to develop PTSD. Knowledge is power. Educate yourselves.

Donna! 😳 I'm just thinking about all the scenarios when a woman was not drunk, dressed provocatively, etc. but still got raped. 🤔 Think nuns, toddlers, school children, a woman walking home after their night shift, etc. I've lost respect for this woman already😳🙅♀️

I believe the narrative is women who are pursuing a career advancement, not nuns, not toddlers, not school children...
